It’s hard to believe we ’ re already in August The summer has certainly kept us busy, but we ’ ve continued making great progress around the club
First, we were fortunate to dodge the worst of the recent tropical storm, allowing us to stay on schedule with course conditions and projects.
July also brought our annual aerification of the greens and tee boxes While the process can be disruptive in the short term, it’s one of the most important investments we make in providing healthy, consistent playing surfaces throughout the year Thank you for your patience as the courses continue to recover
Our bridge improvement project continues to move forward We’ve completed work on the first two bridges and are now getting started on the final major bridge leading to the South This will be another significant improvement to the Member Course
We’ve also been able to get back on grass at the practice range. The range tee isn’t quite where we ultimately want it to be, but it continues to improve and move in the right direction
Finally, I’m excited to announce that we ’ ve hired a new Director of Golf. Please join me in welcoming Noah Daher, who joins BlackHorse from The Club at Prescott Lakes in Arizona Noah brings a strong background in golf operations and member service, and we ’ re looking forward to the leadership and energy he’ll bring to our golf operation Noah begins his journey with us in mid-August. We are also pleased to share that Clint Walkup will re-join our team as our Head Golf Professional You may know him as the “Golf Genius” for his expertise in running Member events on our software Clint pursued an opportunity at BlueJack, however is really excited to return to BlackHorse to serve in this role.

As we head into August, I wanted to take a moment to share a few updates and recognize a special person who has made an impact here at BlackHorse
Now for some exciting news… one of our most requested Member events is making its return!
Be sure to mark your calendar for Saturday, August 22, as we bring back the always-popular 6FFORE7 Tournament If you've played in it before, you already know why it's become such a Member favorite If you haven't, this is the year to experience it for yourself It promises to be another fun day filled with great golf, plenty of laughs, and a little friendly competition
Lastly, I'd like to recognize one of our outstanding Members, Charles Bourgeois, for an incredible accomplishment I know parents aren't supposed to have favorite kids, but I'll go ahead and admit it Charles is certainly one of our favorite Members. Recently, Charles accomplished something that every golfer dreams about: he shot one of the best rounds of his life with an incredible 72 That's a remarkable achievement and one that deserves to be celebrated
What makes Charles even more special, though, goes far beyond his scorecard His unwavering support of the Club, his involvement in our events, and the genuine friendship he extends to our staff and fellow Members are just a few of the reasons BlackHorse is a better place because he's part of it
Charles, congratulations on an incredible milestone, and thank you for everything you do for our Club. We're fortunate to have you as part of the BlackHorse family I look forward to seeing everyone around the Club this month and hope you'll join us for everything August has in store

Director of Agronomy A MESSAGE FROM YOUR
As we continue through the summer, our Agronomy Team has been focused on several key projects to improve the health, consistency, and playability of both golf courses We appreciate your patience as these essential practices create short-term disruption while delivering long-term improvements
Over the past month, we completed aerification on both the North and South Courses, including greens and tees. These cultural practices relieve soil compaction, promote stronger root development, and improve overall turf health Recovery has progressed well, and we expect playing conditions to continue improving in the weeks ahead
We also completed property-wide weed control, fertilizer, and plant growth regulator applications to reduce unwanted grasses, encourage healthy turf growth, and maintain consistent playing conditions throughout the summer. Additional targeted treatments will continue as needed to further improve turf quality
The practice range tee has seen significant improvement through new sod installation and continued fertility applications, helping accelerate recovery and enhance practice conditions.
In addition, our team successfully repaired a major irrigation mainline on the North Course with minimal impact to course conditions despite challenging summer temperatures Finally, we are excited to welcome Elmer back to BlackHorse as our new Head Mechanic His experience and leadership have already made a positive impact on our equipment maintenance program
As we enter the hottest part of the season, our team remains committed to providing the best possible playing conditions Thank you for your continued patience and support as we invest in the long-term health and quality of the golf courses.

My name is Noah Daher, and I’m excited to join BlackHorse as your new Director of Golf Golf has taken me on an incredible journey that began in my hometown of Sedona, Arizona The game led me to Hawaii, where I competed in college while earning my bachelor’s degree, and later back to Arizona to complete my master’s degree at Arizona State University I became a PGA Class A Professional while serving as Head Golf Professional at The Club at Prescott Lakes, and every step along the way has reinforced my passion for the game and the relationships it creates I’m currently pursuing my Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation through the Club Management Association of America while continuing to work toward becoming a Certified and, ultimately, Master PGA Professional I look forward to meeting each of you, learning what makes BlackHorse special, and creating an exceptional experience for our members both on and off the course
I’m Clint Walkup, a Texas native with a lifelong passion for golf Growing up with three sisters, family has always been important to me, and today I enjoy spending time with my nine nieces and nephews I also spent several years in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, where I discovered my love for snowboarding my favorite hobby outside of golf.
My dad introduced me to the game at a young age, and after competing in high school, I briefly pursued chemical engineering at Texas Tech before realizing golf was where I belonged I transferred to Sam Houston State University, earning my business degree and PGA certification while gaining experience through internships at top clubs across the country After serving as an assistant professional at several prestigious clubs, including BlackHorse, I’m excited to return as Head Golf Professional I look forward to building relationships with our members, creating memorable experiences, and continuing to grow the game we all love
