THE LOOP

Greetings from WestCare Nevada,

Welcome to the May edition of The Loop Newsletter, where we highlight meaningful work, partnerships, and celebrations across WestCare Nevada. During Mental Health Month we reflect on our mission of strengthening families, supporting recovery, building community, and honoring the people who make this work possible.

This month we share highlights from NatCon26 where WestCare Nevada presented “Healing Beyond Medicine with Faith and Fellowship: Integrating Spiritual Care into Behavioral Health.” The presentation was well received and generated strong interest across the behavioral health field.

We also recognize a special evening for members of our Accounting and Finance Department who enjoyed fellowship and appreciation at the BTS concert in the Allegiant Stadium Community Suite.

At the Women and Children’s Campus we celebrated mothers through our Mother’s Day and Nurturing Mothers event honoring the strength and resilience of the women we serve.

WestCare Nevada also participated in Las Vegas Rotary Community Day, joining partners in celebrating America’s 250th anniversary and the spirit of service that unites our community.

We are proud to celebrate a milestone for our Spiritual Care Program, marking 11 years of providing hope, healing, and support to clients and families.

We also highlight the Connections Graduation at Harris Springs Ranch, honoring fathers and father figures who have made meaningful strides through our Responsible Fatherhood program.

Together, these moments reflect the heart of WestCare Nevada: healing, partnership, and transformation in action.

SPOTLIGHT Staff

Fun Times with BTS

WestCare would like to extend its sincere gratitude to Allegiant Stadium for providing complimentary suite tickets to the BTS K-pop concert, creating an unforgettable experience for our employees and their families. BTS is known worldwide not only for their music but also for their powerful message of mental health awareness, self-love, and acceptance, themes that resonate deeply with many individuals.

The opportunity to experience the concert from the comfort of an Allegiant Stadium suite made the evening even more memorable. Staff described the atmosphere as "fun and interactive," praised the suite's incredible views and amenities, and shared how meaningful it was to spend quality time with loved ones. For one employee, the evening's greatest gift was creating lasting memories with a granddaughter, while another experienced their very first BTS concert.

Thanks to Allegiant Stadium's generosity, our employees were able to enjoy an inspiring night that celebrated positivity, connection, and the importance of loving oneself.

AT WESTCARE Mother’s Day

Nurturing Women’s Event

On Friday, May 8, 2026, the Women and Children's Campus hosted a Nurturing Women's event in celebration of Mother's Day. The special day brought together women, children, and staff for an uplifting experience centered on hope, resilience, and community.

The women and children enjoyed a delicious catered barbecue rib buffet, generously donated by a community member in honor of the women we serve. The celebration also featured butterfly canvas painting set to smooth jazz music, creating a relaxing and joyful atmosphere where families could connect and make lasting memories.

Beyond the activities, the event provided an opportunity for the women to pause, reflect, and celebrate the progress they have made in their recovery journeys. Moments like these help foster confidence, strengthen family bonds, and remind each participant that they are surrounded by a community that believes in their success.

To make the day even more meaningful, each woman received a red rose and a collection of beauty products donated by generous community supporters. We are grateful to everyone who helped make this celebration possible and for the opportunity to honor the strength, resilience, and accomplishments of the incredible women in our care. Together, these acts of kindness help create an environment where healing, hope, and new beginnings can flourish.

DEVELOPMENT & Partnerships

Rotary Club at Springs Preserve

WestCare Nevada was proud to participate in the Las Vegas Rotary Club's Celebrate America 250 Community Day at Springs Preserve, featuring a fun run, pancake breakfast, live entertainment, and family activities.

Throughout the morning, WestCare staff welcomed attendees to the organization's outreach booth, sharing information about the wide range of programs and services available throughout Southern Nevada Conversations ranged from treatment and recovery services to housing, family programs, and volunteer opportunities. Staff enjoyed meeting neighbors, community partners, and families while introducing many attendees to WestCare Nevada for the first time. These conversations gave community members the opportunity to learn more about the organization's mission and the support available to individuals and families across Southern Nevada.

The event also provided an opportunity for WestCare team members to connect with fellow community organizations and strengthen partnerships dedicated to serving Southern Nevada. WestCare Nevada extends its gratitude to the Las Vegas Rotary Club for the invitation and to everyone who stopped by to learn more about the organization's mission. We look forward to continuing to build new connections and serving our community through future outreach opportunities.

CORNER Spiritual

11 Years of SCCP

The Spiritual Care Chaplain Program (SCCP) is proud to celebrate 11 years of providing healing and support to individuals facing addiction and mental health challenges. Over the past decade, the program has remained committed to addressing the hurts, habits, and heartbreak of those in recovery through a holistic approach centered on spirit, mind, and body.

Recognized for its comprehensive model of spiritual care within substance use and behavioral health services, SCCP continues to stand out as a unique and impactful resource led by dedicated spiritual care professionals. The program’s work reflects a deep commitment to recovery, redemption, and wholeperson restoration.

As SCCP marks this milestone, the team celebrates 11 years of uplifting the human spirit and supporting lasting transformation for individuals and families across the communities it serves.

WestCare Nevada was proud to participate in the 2026 National Council for Mental Wellbeing Conference (NatCon26) in Denver, where Leo Magrdichian and Ryan Creelman presented on integrating spiritual care with clinical practice.

Their presentation highlighted the importance of whole-person care, strong community partnerships, and supporting individuals throughout their long-term recovery journey. The session drew a standing-room-only audience, demonstrating the growing interest in holistic approaches to behavioral healthcare. Attendees engaged in meaningful discussions about how spiritual care can complement clinical services and strengthen recovery outcomes.

WestCare Nevada is honored to contribute to conversations that advance innovative, compassionate care and strengthen recovery services while sharing best practices with behavioral health professionals from across the country. The opportunity also allowed our team to learn from peers and bring new ideas back to the communities we serve.

Connections Graduation

On May 18, 2026, the Connections Fatherhood Program proudly celebrated its first graduation at Harris Springs Ranch, marking an important milestone for the program. Fourteen participants successfully completed the inaugural cohort, each demonstrating a commitment to personal growth and becoming stronger fathers, partners, and role models.

Throughout the program, participants focused on building healthy relationships, strengthening communication, developing accountability, and fostering personal growth. They also formed meaningful connections with one another, creating a supportive network that encourages continued success beyond graduation. The skills and knowledge gained will help support stronger families, more effective parenting, and brighter futures. This accomplishment represents an important step toward increasing each participant's opportunity to live a healthier, more stable, and productive life, while reinforcing the positive role fathers play in their families and communities.

WestCare Nevada congratulates each graduate on this achievement and looks forward to continuing to empower fathers through the Connections Fatherhood Program. By investing in fathers, the program helps strengthen families and create lasting, positive impacts throughout the community.
