Coram Deo Academy Uniform Policy 2024-2025
Uniform Policy Coram Deo Academy’s Uniform Policy is rooted in a desire to create and promote a learning environment where attire is not a distraction to the educational process. The cooperation of students, parents, and teachers is necessary to maintain the uniform standard. Enforcing the uniform standard is not the sole responsibility of the school. Parents are expected to cooperate with the school in monitoring their child’s daily attire. This policy is based on the following principles: 1. Our goal is to honor God in all we do, acknowledging the Lordship of Jesus Christ in our choices. 2. All human actions, including outward manifestations such as clothing, reveal and communicate the disposition of the heart at some level. It is our desire to address these heart issues in one uniform policy rather than seeking to anticipate and curb the numerous manifestations of it that surface throughout the year with a looser dress code. 3. The neat appearance created by a uniform enhances a ready-to-learn atmosphere. Clothing represents the vocational calling, and inherent in the uniform policy is a desire to create an environment where undue attention is not drawn to any student. 4. Uniforms help engender a cohesive presentation of the students in our school. When our students are in uniform, it aesthetically communicates that they are part of the same team, working toward the same goals. The student is part of a group identity that strives for excellence, and the code establishes a tradition toward that end. 5. The uniform code should save parents money. The uniform code de-emphasizes the social impact of dress and helps focus the students on character and academic issues. 6. The uniform code addresses security. On field trips, students in uniform aid the teachers in keeping track of everyone. On the playground or in the school, teachers and staff can clearly identify students from outsiders. 7. Uniform items may be purchased at stores other than Lands’ End, except dresses/jumpers, plaid skirts, and plaid ties.

Ladies’ Footwear & More Shoes, Socks, Tights & Leggings Shoes Black, closed-toe dress or casual shoes Secondary ladies may wear low heel Socks, Tights, and Leggings Colors must be solid black, gray or white. Socks must be ankle-length or longer. Tights may be opaque or knit. Leggings may be worn with skirts/ dresses/jumpers, but must include socks. Hair & Makeup Hair must be of natural color and feminine style. Hair accessories must be fitting to the colors and style of the uniform, which is modest and conservative. Nail polish is allowed as long as the colors are classy and fitting to the uniform. No artificial nails allowed. Primary Ladies may not wear makeup. Secondary Ladies may wear light makeup. Accessories & Jewelry Cross-tie in black, burgundy, or burgundy/gray CDA plaid allowed with button-up shirts. Earrings allowed and must be classy and fitting to the uniform. No body piercing jewelry. Watches may not make noise, have smart technology, or be cumbersome to wear. If hair accessories or jewelry become a distraction, the teacher has the discretion to request that they be removed. Outerwear, Backpacks & Lunchboxes Jackets are to be worn outdoors only and may be students' choice of color and style, but words and images must be God-honoring. Backpacks/ Lunchboxes may be students' choice, but words and images must be Godhonoring.
Gentlemen’s Uniforms Dress Pants & Trousers
Pants must be black or khaki uniform-style pants; no jeans or cargo pants. Black belt must be worn at all times.

No coloring or unnatural look of hair permitted. Accessories No chains, earrings, body piercing jewelry, or visible tattoos allowed. Watches are the only visible jewelry allowed for boys. They may not make noise, have smart technology, or be cumbersome to wear. If a watch become a distraction, the teacher has the discretion to request it be removed.
