Spring 2026 Newsletter - On Island Time

Page 1

ON ISLAND TIME

FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT

Spring is a season of renewal, and it’s a time when the islands feel especially vibrant. Across our resorts, this spirit is reflected not only in the destinations you love, but in the continued evolution of how we serve you. As we step into the season ahead, we’re excited to share updates, stories, and inspiration designed to help you make the most of every moment with Divi.

This issue offers a closer look at the people who bring our resorts to life each day, whether it’s in our corporate office or at the resorts themselves. From celebrating the achievements of standout team members like Katie Brown, recently promoted to Director of Marketing (page 7), and Chido Geerman, Director of Housekeeping at Divi Aruba Phoenix (page 6), you’ll see firsthand the passion and dedication that define the Divi experience.

We’re also proud to introduce an exciting new chapter for Divi Vacation Club. On pages 8 and 9, you’ll discover our fresh new look — a rebrand that reflects our commitment to innovation, personalization, and helping you get the most out of your membership. At its core, this evolution is about you — enhancing the way you travel, connect, and create lasting memories with us.

Wellness continues to be an important part of the Divi experience, and we’re thrilled to share a recap of our second Wellness Weeks on St. Maarten (page 10). Building on the success of the first, this growing initiative reflects our commitment to creating vacations that strike the perfect balance — where moments of wellness and movement exist just as naturally as time spent unwinding by the beach. It’s all part of our drive to provide our Caribbean, your way.

Of course, no newsletter would be complete without a little inspiration for your next getaway. From a spotlight on Barbados (page 11) — a destination that continues to captivate travelers with its unique charm and unforgettable atmosphere — to a Taste of Divi feature highlighting fresh new offerings at pureocean and purebeach in Aruba (pages 4 and 5), there’s no shortage of reasons to start planning your return.

You’ll also find exciting updates like our new Awards & Testimonials webpage (page 12), designed to make it easier than ever to explore

real guest experiences and recognition across our resorts, as well as a look at Divi Cares (page 13), where we continue to give back to the communities that make our islands so special.

Spring and summer are some of the best times to experience the Caribbean, with vibrant events, seasonal flavors, and unforgettable moments happening across our islands. Be sure to explore our Island Calendar of Events (pages 14 and 15) — from food festivals to local celebrations — and start planning your next escape around the experiences that inspire you most.

Warmest wishes,

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

At Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort, great guest experiences start behind the scenes with dedicated team members who take pride in every detail. This month, we’re shining the spotlight on Director of Housekeeping Chido Geerman, whose leadership, warmth, and “never say no” attitude have helped shape an exceptional housekeeping team. With more than a decade at Divi Phoenix and a lifetime in hospitality, Chido shares a look at his daily routine, what inspires him, and the moments that make his job so rewarding.

How long have you been with Divi Aruba Phoenix?

I have been working at Divi Phoenix for 10 years. I started as Front Desk Manager and was promoted to Director of Housekeeping in 2019. I started my career in hospitality in 1989 as a bellman at what is now known as the Hotel Riu Palace Antillas.

What does a typical day look like for you as Director of Housekeeping?

My day usually starts with a walk through the property, from the hallways and elevators to the lobby, restaurants, and restrooms, so I can observe everything early in the morning. I review emails, create and approve invoices, and walk through the property again to inspect rooms in different buildings. Before the day ends, I prepare talking points for the next day’s staff briefing... and throughout the day, I make sure to greet and acknowledge every team member I meet.

What is the most rewarding part of your job at Divi Resorts?

Seeing my team members grow within the company. Over the years, many have moved on to other departments. When they see me later, they often thank me for the support and guidance. Receiving positive feedback from guests is also incredibly rewarding.

What is something guests might not realize about the work your team does? Guests may not always realize the amount of coordination, effort, and dedication it takes to have every room perfectly prepared and ready on time for their arrival.

What makes the housekeeping team at Divi special?

The people. Their smiles, teamwork, and willingness to go the extra mile to satisfy our guests make the team truly special.

Do you have a favorite guest story or memorable moment from your time at Divi?

We have a repeat guest who has been visiting for many years. One time, we decorated their room with a “Welcome Home” message, balloons, and framed family photos placed around the room, including a picture of their dog. They were truly surprised and touched that we did something so special for them. That’s what we call going the extra mile!

What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

I enjoy spending time with my granddaughter and grandson. When I have free time, I also like playing pool with friends.

If you were a guest at the resort, what would be the first thing you’d do?

Visit the bar.

What does being part of the Divi Resorts family mean to you?

After working for another company for 28 years, I can honestly say that Divi truly cares about its employees and invests time and resources in their development.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

Katie Brown, Director of Marketing

In just over three years, Katie Brown’s journey at Divi Resorts has taken her from web developer to Marketing Supervisor, and now Director of Marketing, overseeing all nine resorts. With a background in art history, she brings a unique eye for detail and storytelling to the guest experience. We sat down with Katie to talk about her path, her passion for creating seamless and memorable stays, and how she’s helping shape the future of Divi Resorts.

You started at Divi Resorts as a web developer. Did you ever imagine you’d be leading marketing for nine resorts one day?

No, definitely not! I started at Divi and really loved the full package that they had, and so it was very exciting to take on new challenges. I was always thinking about marketing as a whole as it related to web development, so it naturally progressed into getting to help the team more broadly. I also have a background in art history and worked in museums, so that sense of visual cohesiveness translated very naturally into this role.

Which island has been your favorite to visit?

I’ve been very fortunate to visit these properties myself and see how each one is a perfect landing spot in its own way. I don’t have a favorite because they’re all so unique! I will say one of my favorite experiences to try was scuba diving – it’s something I didn’t know I would love as much as I did. I’m already planning to go back and do it with my family.

What was it like experiencing the resorts from a guest perspective?

As the head of marketing, a lot of what I value is the guest experience – how do we make vacationing exactly what you want it to be? I always tell my team: Vacationing should be easy, and booking should be even easier. So that’s what’s in my mind on these visits.

When I visit, I get to see the team’s hard work in action – from checking in and receiving your key cards to sitting down at a restaurant and viewing

the menus we create, to what’s playing in your room on the TV – but I also get to see where we can improve. Part of my job is identifying where we can enhance the experience, and I get to help make that happen.

What is your favorite part about working at Divi Resorts?

Every day is a good day working at Divi Resorts. At the end of the day, we are marketing beautiful properties that do a fantastic job of supporting their islands and staff, while giving guests a look into everything that makes each destination unique. When you come into work with that in mind, it gives so much in return.

How is Divi Resorts evolving to meet what today’s travelers want?

I think Divi is really leaning into the idea that we’re giving you the Caribbean your way. Every property has a unique voice and its own set of experiences. We’re constantly pushing the envelope, whether it’s new dining options, exciting events with special guests, or evolving our all-inclusive offerings to better meet guest needs.

Do you have a favorite guest moment or story that really captures what Divi is all about?

We’re so fortunate to have on-site teams who are passionate about the guest experience.

At Divi Southwinds on Barbados, there was a couple who had an early romantic experience at the resort, and later reached out to plan their proposal on our beach. The staff was as excited as they were, and they jumped right in to help plan it. Plus, they were already thinking ahead to how they could make the couple’s honeymoon even better. At Divi, you have staff who truly care; they value you, remember who you are, and want to be part of your story.

A FRESH LOOK IS COMING!

“Teaching in a tropical paradise, waking up to breathtaking ocean views, enjoying fabulous dining, and meeting guests from all over, is a fitness instructor’s dream. I love being able to spread my passion for fitness and wellness by helping others to discover the mental and physical benefits of movement!"

Barbados is one of the most popular Caribbean islands, and yet it never feels too crowded. Sun-soaked days, picture-perfect beaches, warm waters, and a vibrant, welcoming culture make this island a true gem. If you’re dreaming of your next island escape, here’s a little inspiration straight from the shores of Barbados.

WHAT TO DO

You love nature: Hunte’s Gardens for lush, tropical pathways and hidden benches. Barbados Wildlife Reserve for close animal encounters (you’ll see baby green monkeys close enough to touch!)

You love nightlife: St. Lawrence Gap. It’s the island’s lively entertainment hub. Grab dinner, hop between beach bars, meet friends from all over the world, and dance to live music.

You love food: Book a guided tasting experience with Lickrish Food Tours and sample authentic Bajan bites while wandering the colorful streets and learning the stories behind them.

You love to explore: Bathsheba on the island’s east coast — dramatic rock formations, crashing Atlantic waves, and one of the most photographed spots in Barbados.

You love history: St. Nicholas Abbey — a beautifully preserved plantation house with sweeping views. (Bonus if you love rum: they offer a fantastic rum tour!)

You love the beach: Dover Beach for calm, swimmable waters and soft white sand. Or head west to Carlisle Bay for crystal-clear turquoise water and incredible snorkeling.

WHAT TO EAT

Fresh-caught mahi-mahi, grilled snapper, or the island’s national favorite — flying fish. Seasoned with authentic Bajan spices and served alongside rice, black-eyed peas or plantains, it’s a true taste of Barbados. Don’t forget some classic macaroni pie!

WHAT TO DRINK

Rum, of course! Barbados is known as the birthplace of rum, and it all started at Mt. Gay back in 1703. They’ve since perfected the spirit, and it flows everywhere you go on this laid-back island.

MAKE IT: The Green Monkey Bright, tropical, and unmistakably Caribbean — the Green Monkey cocktail, served at pureocean Restaurant, captures the colorful energy of this island in every sip.

WHERE TO STAY

INGREDIENTS

1½ oz white rum

1 oz passion fruit purée

¾ oz fresh lime juice

½ oz simple syrup

½ oz blue curaçao Ice

Divi Southwinds Beach Resort: Affordable, reputable, and in a prime location, this resort is a no-brainer for a Barbados stay. Located steps from the powdery white sands of Dover Beach, this all-suite resort blends laid-back island living with the energy of St. Lawrence Gap. Spacious accommodations, beachfront dining, and stunning Caribbean views make it the perfect home base for your Barbados getaway.
