1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tablespoon seasoned salt
4 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 can (14 ounces) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 English cucumber, diced
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
1/4 cup red onions, finely chopped
2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup feta, crumbled
Prepare pearl couscous according to package directions.
In medium bowl, toss shrimp with seasoned salt. In large saucepan over medium high heat, heat 1 tablespoon oil. Add shrimp and cook 5 minutes. If necessary, cook in batches to avoid overcrowding pan.
In another large pan, heat 1 tablespoon oil over medium heat. Add chickpeas and cook 8 minutes until crispy and golden, tossing often. Add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and salt. Toss to fully coat and cook 2 minutes.
In large bowl, combine pearl couscous, shrimp, chickpeas, cucumbers, tomatoes, basil, red onion, dill, lemon juice and remaining olive oil. Toss to combine. Garnish with feta.

NATIONAL TRAIN DAY 2026 Western Maryland Railway Historical Society Museum Complex The Train Station, 41 North Main Street, Union Bridge, MD. May 9, 10am‑3pm. Open to all ages. Free Admission Come out to this special Saturday open house to celebrate the National Train Day and celebrate the joy of trains and train travel! May 10th 1869 was the day the Golden spike was driven completing the first transcendental railroad, joining east and West of our great land. Come see the history of the Western Maryland Railway both in Carroll County and the state of Maryland. The Museum collection is housed in a 124 year old Railroad Station and office building. See trains from full size ones to small model trains of all sizes scales. Our own Carroll County based Maryland Midland Railroad may have a locomotive on display. There may also be displays of equipment (weather permitting) from the “Chesapeake & Allegheny Steam Preservation Society”. There will be a Child ID Program table setup. The ID Kit allows parents to collect specific information by easily recording the physical characteristics and finger prints of their children on identification cards that they keep at home. If ever needed this ID Kit will give authorities vital information to help locate a missing child. There will be a Hot Dog stand.

ROCK OF HELP FOOD PANTRY Ebenezer United Methodist Church will hold the “Rock of Help” Food Pantry for residents in need of food from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. the third Saturday of each month at the food pantry building behind the church, 4901 Woodbine Road, near Winfield.Nonperishable food, assorted frozen foods, a non‑food household item and children’s shoes are available. The food pantry is drive‑through only. Church staff will put pre‑loaded bags of food in your car.
