Two Strong Hearts 50 years ago in May, Carol and David Stanley said “I do”, at the Dundas Anglican Church. Carol and David first met at Ashbury Methodist Church two years earlier. Family is very important to the couple, and they are fortunate to have all of their close family living in or near Glenmore Park. Today they have 3 children and 5 grandchildren and love to spend time together, whether it’s looking after the grandchildren on the weekend, or dinner out with the kids. Faith is also important to them, and they enjoy being part of the church family at Grace West Anglican Church, where they have made friends for life. “It’s a support network that is always there, no matter what time it is, or what you need – someone will be there for you,” said David. Carol and David have lived in Glenmore Park for 30 years, after growing up in Ermington and Ashbury, and say they wouldn’t live anywhere else! David and Carol obviously get on well, and humour plays a large role in their successful 50 years of marriage. Their take on a long and happy marriage? They are both in agreement here. “You have to be able to forgive – and mean it.” Valentine’s Day is here this month.
