Richer Métis Local Elects New Board
The Richer Métis Local has elected a new board following elections held Jan. 6 at the Richer Young at Hearts Hall. Elected to lead the local are Chair Arcel Gagnon, Vice Chair Barb Dutiaume,

Secretary Annette Laurin and Treasurer Denise Laurin. The new board will guide the organization as it continues to serve Métis citizens in Richer and surrounding communities. Outgoing Vice Chair Darlene Larocque offered thanks to volunteers and board members who supported local events and initiatives over the past term, recognizing the contributions of fellow executives, volunteers and elders. Larocque wished the incoming board success in their new roles.
Outgoing Chair Jerry Carriere also congratulated the new executive, expressing confidence in their leadership and thanking the outgoing board for their dedication to engaging and supporting citizens across the local’s catchment area, including Richer, Ste. Anne, Ste. Genevieve and Ross. In a written statement, the newly elected board thanked the community for its support, saying members are eager to learn, ready to work hard and committed to preserving traditions while creating engaging events for the community.
