Dawson Trail Park Offers Winter Fun
Dawson Trail Park facilities are the perfect place for family groups to have some outdoor recreation. Looks like the rink under the new Premier Tech Multiplex and fire pit are getting a lot of action as the weather has been fantastic and we all need to get outside and feel “normal again. There is also a skating trail for those that want a bit more space. Remember, we also have the toboggan hill! Please respect the rules we have to follow in order to keep the park open for the community and all of the guests we are seeing.
Family Fun at Dawson Trail Park!
The Dawson Trail Park seems to be the place for families, not only from Richer but from the entire region. With a few rules in place, the Richer Community Club was ecstatic when they were given the go ahead to open the area up. It seems that even the adults are enjoying the toboggan hill at the east end of the park. The fire pit is in constant use and the Richer Community Club may even have to get more firewood in. This is considered a good thing for our community. As a community, we all should be proud‌ we created a welcoming and safe environment for families to enjoy.

By Pastor Ben Funk Just think that 2020 has come and gone. Who knew last January that we would have such a wild ride in 2020. We had heard rumors, but we were hopeful it would spare us. The Richer Community Club was spearheading and planning a significant celebration of Manitoba 150th birthday. Richer Fellowship had come along side of the Richer Community Club to help make the
celebration a success. Hopefully we can be part of a scaled down version this coming summer. As we reflect on the year that has just ended, and it is a good time to look forward into the year that has just begun. It is also a good time to include God in our lives as we take inventory of our walk with the Lord, and the strategies needed to be employed for the coming year. We should take a very close look at where we are in our relationship with God. We need to examine ourselves and see where we have been, where we are and where the Lord wants us to go in the following year. Colossians 3:1-11 gives us the opportunity and the challenge to do just that. It allows us to examine our physical, emotional, and spiritual life. It’s a lot like cleaning a room that you have not been into for a while. As you begin to turn things over, and move things around, you discover things that you have, that you had long forgotten about. As you go along you begin to make a list of things you want to keep and things you want to pass on and other things you want to dispose of. As I read Colossians 3, I find that the content in that text challenges the reader to do just ex-
actly the same thing. As we look at our lives in the light of these verses, we are challenged to retain some things, to release some things and to remember some things. Why? To declutter our lives, and to grow in our spiritual journey. It would be good to open these verses for yourself, and weigh them against your present circumstances, and observe how they may challenge you now and how they may challenge you in the following year. I would like to remind each of us that God has a plan for our life; that He wants certain things from our life. As God, He actually has the privilege of expecting certain things from our life. I would like to bring a certain awareness to each of us that Colossians 3 brings with it “an old challenge for a new year”. At Richer Fellowship Church we hope and pray that the coming year will bring with it greater victories then you have ever experienced. Happy New Year to each one. P.S. We invite you to worship with us both in a “Drive In” format on FM Radio 87.9 or on our YouTube channel “Richer Fellowship” as we stream live every Sunday at 10:30 am.

TO ALL OUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBOURS... Even though 2020 was a strange year, the Richer Community Club, with the help of its many partners, was able to check a lot of things off our ten year plan. We would love to tackle a few more items in 2021 (with the hopes of getting back to normal too). There are a couple of major projects left on the list and a few with smaller budgets. BUT... we would love to hear from YOU! What projects can we tackle as a community? What are your ideas? Can you help out? Let us know at dan@richerrodeo.ca. Our ten year plan was created by thinking big and small, and guess what... we have the Premier Tech Multiplex! Ideas are never thrown out... they are evaluated and prioritized. We can accomplish great things if we put our minds to it as a community. In 2021 we look forward to eventually continuing our Chase the Ace (Jackpot is sitting at over $30,000!), creating a rodeo in August if it is deemed safe to do so, possibly another ATV Derby, a special fall festival (called Le Rendezvous) that will celebrate our roots and many other things we had to put on hold in 2020. We wish everyone a Happy New Year as we finally shake off 2020 and look forward to an ever improving 2021.
