On this Premium Itinerary, we cover the country’s crown jewels like Hanoi, Hoi An, Hue, Ha Long Bay, and Ho Chi Minh City; explore everything from limestone islands to lush swampland and visit buzzing cities and quaint heritage towns along the way.

We also explore the country’s complex history of once being conquered by the Chinese and the French, and the human hardships suffered during the Vietnam War in the 20th century – which continues to impact the nation’s presentday culture. Arrival in Hanoi

A meet and greet service is available to escort passengers and ensure a smooth arrival at Hanoi. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted before immigration by our representative and guided through the airport through our Fast Track service to your arrival transfer. This service includes luggage assistance, and while tipping our representative is not mandatory, it’s a highly recommended courtesy to express your appreciation for their service.

Located 30 kilometres south of the airport, the transfer will take approximately 40 minutes to reach your hotel.

Hanoi City Explorer – EV Street Food

Start the day at Hanoi’s Temple of Literature, a historic educational hub dedicated to the Chinese philosopher Confucius. This place also houses the “Imperial Academy,” Vietnam’s first national university, established in the year 1070. Depicted on the 100,000 Vietnamese Dong banknote, this prominent landmark remains a monument of national significance to this day.

Next, proceed to the Ethnology Museum, which showcases Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups and is renowned as the country’s premier modern museum. Explore Ngoc Son Temple, a sacred site on an islet in Hoan Kiem Lake, amidst captivating scenery. The tour ends with a stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake and the city’s historic Old Quarter.

Grab a stool at Bia Hoi Corner and watch the evening commotion, sipping local draft beer. Hidden Charm of Hanoi Walking Tour

This day starts with a walk to the Northern Gate of the ancient citadel, a colossal fortress situated in the centre of the city. Guests delve into the history of this imposing structure and visit Cua Bac Church, a fine example of French and Catholic architectural influence.

Take a stroll along the leafy Phan Dinh Phung Road, shaded by ancient dracontomelon trees lining one of Hanoi’s most romantic boulevards. One of the main attractions here are the magnificent Frenchcolonial villas, following the road towards the Quan Thanh Temple, an 11th-century Taoist temple. This important sanctuary is one of the city’s oldest and most culturally significant places of worship.

After exploring the stalls, venture down a quieter alley for a respite at a local eatery, sampling Pho Cuon, a delightful snack akin to fresh spring rolls. Hang Than Street takes a special place in the lives of Hanoi residents: it is the unofficial hub of Hanoi’s wedding cake shops, and the place to learn about Vietnam’s unique wedding customs.

Conclude this captivating Hanoi tour with a cyclo ride, to explore the city at a relaxing pace. Recline and enjoy weaving through the Old Quarter’s busy streets, before rounding off the morning with lunch at a local restaurant.

Hanoi – Ninh Binh

After checking out of your hotel, this full day of exploration in and around Ninh Binh marks your foray into Vietnam’s heartland. With your guide and driver, we venture towards the “Ha Long Bay on Land”. A gentle sampan ride along Ngo Dong River reveals a landscape of striking limestone karsts, and breathtaking natural scenery.

The exploration continues with a visit to the tranquil Thai Vi Temple, a 13th-century gem, its greenstone architecture and intricate carvings whispering tales of ancient dynasties.

Following this spiritual stop, it is time to stroll through verdant rice paddies, leading to a secluded

local eatery, where regional flavours tantalise the palate amidst Ninh Binh’s dramatic mountain scenery.

This full-day excursion continues to Van Lam Hamlet, a bastion of 700-year-old lace embroidery. Here, you’ll witness artisans at work, perhaps even trying your hand at this delicate craft, and depart with a unique, handcrafted memento.

The day ends with checking in to your hotel in Ninh Binh, concluding a fantastic day out.

Ninh Binh – Wildlife and Historic Exploration

An early morning departure (around 8 am) sets the tone for a sustainable day in and around Ninh Binh. After a scenic three-hour transfer, we reach our first destination of the Four Paws Bear Sanctuary, an establishment dedicated to rehabilitating bears rescued from bile farming and the illegal wildlife trade.

A sanctuary representative will conduct a guided tour of the facilities, including the bear kitchen, veterinary clinic, and bear houses, providing an in-depth understanding of the rehabilitation process. Throughout the tour, your guide will offer informative commentary regarding the bears’ care and recovery. A vegetarian lunch will be provided at the sanctuary following the tour.

The day then proceeds to Cuc Phuong National Park in the afternoon, specifically the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre. This visit offers guests the opportunity to observe several of Asia’s rare primate species, including langurs and gibbons, with the caveat that activity levels may be reduced during warmer months.

The exploration continues with a visit to the ‘Cave of Prehistoric Man,’ an archaeological site where human skeletal remains and stone tools dating back over 7,500 years were discovered. The transfer to Hanoi takes place late in the evening, allowing you to reflect on a day of wildlife conservation and historical exploration.

Hanoi – Ha Long Bay

Leave the city’s hustle and bustle behind as you hop on a traditional junk boat, setting sail through the ethereal beauty of UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ha Long Bay. Arrive at the pier around midday and complete the necessary check-in formalities with the boat crew.

Following a warm welcome aboard and settling into your cabin, a freshly prepared lunch will be served on board once the captain set the sails in motion. The afternoon presents opportunities for visits to enchanting caves or invigorating activities set by the boat’s itinerary.

As the day draws close, you anchor amidst the majestic karst formations, one of the breathtaking spectacles making Ha Long Bay a must-experience destination.

Finally, savour the golden hues of the sunset from the cruise deck, followed by a delightful dinner, before retiring for a tranquil evening under the stars.

Ha Long Bay

Spend your second day sailing through the stunning bay, exploring hidden caves, floating villages, and secluded beaches.

Ha Long Bay – Hanoi – Flight to Hue

Sail back to Ha Long Bay’s main harbour and take a 3.5-hour overland journey in the comfort of a private, air-conditioned vehicle to Hanoi Airport’s domestic terminal for your departure flight to Hue.

Located approximately 15 km from the airport, it will take around 30 minutes to reach your accommodation in Hue. After checking in, feel free to spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

Exploring Hue’s Royal Homes

Hue – Heritage Train Over Hai Van Pass – Hoi An

Guests enjoy a relaxing morning at their own pace, by savouring a final breakfast at your hotel or exploring the picturesque local surroundings. After check-out, visitors are transferred to Hue Station, where their unique journey begins aboard a heritage train.

Sit back and soak in the breathtaking scenery as the train winds over the famous Hai Van Pass, often regarded as one of the most scenic railway routes in the world. With stunning coastal views

on one side and lush mountains on the other, this ride offers an unforgettable glimpse into central Vietnam’s natural beauty.

Upon arrival at Da Nang Station around 6 pm, a transfer will take you to Hoi An, where you can settle in at your hotel and unwind for the evening.

DAY 12-13

Free Days in Hoi An

Two days at leisure to explore Hoi An at your own pace.

Hoi An, a remarkable gem of a town, is a testament to Vietnam’s rich history. A former trading post that once hosted a convergence of merchants from China, the Netherlands, France, Japan, Portugal, and Arabia during the span of the 16th to 18th centuries, Hoi An is renowned for its meticulously restored architecture, locally crafted silk, and delectable array of noodles and seafood.

As you stroll through the pedestrian-only streets of this ancient seaport, it’s easy to lose yourself in a vision of the 18th century, when Hoi An was one of Asia’s most bustling trading hubs. The town’s blend of various Asian and European architecture reflects its cosmopolitan past, offering visitors a glimpse into a Vietnam that has vanished elsewhere.

Hoi An - Ho Chi Minh City

After breakfast and checking out of your Hoi An accommodation, transfer to Da Nang’s domestic terminal for a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in the city to spend the afternoon at your leisure.

In the evening, hop on vintage Vespas to uncover Saigon’s iconic landmarks and hidden alleys off the tourist radar, with ample stops along the way, to enjoy South Vietnamese Cuisine and chilled craft beer.

At our dinner stop, enjoy the ubiquitous Banh Mi, a staple Vietnamese sandwich that packs a punch with its crunchy texture and aromatic, sweet and

savoury flavours. For the main course, choose from options like Southern-style pancakes, wraps and rolls, or grilled pork chop with broken rice.

With food in our bellies and spring in our step, we then explore old residential areas of Saigon that still house over 2,000 people. The evening is made sweeter with the classic grilled banana dessert, wrapped in sticky rice and topped with homemade coconut milk. We end the tour at a craft beer shop tucked away in a historic old building, by sampling their unique brews.

Essence of Ho Chi Minh City

Guests are picked up in a private car for an exploration of Ho Chi Minh City’s top sights. Our first stop is the Central Post Office, which was designed by the renowned French architect Gustav Eiffel.

The tour continues with a stop at the Reunification Palace, where a North Vietnamese tank crashed through the gates in 1975 to end a war that killed an estimated 58,000 Americans and three million Vietnamese.

Explore the stately meeting rooms within the Palace before enjoying beautiful panoramic views from the third storey, which overlooks lush lawns and gardens.

Wrap up your day with a wander through the vibrant Tan Dinh market, one of HCMC’s oldest and largest markets selling everything from daily necessities to a plethora of street food options.

Authentic Life on Mekong

An early morning transfer from your Saigon hotel will bring you to Ben Tre, a gateway to the Mekong Delta in Southern Vietnam. A traditional boat will pick you up at the Phong Nam Pier to begin your journey on the majestic Mekong and an exploration of its peaceful countryside.

Visit a local village where you can hop on a bicycle or a motor cart to ride through coconut plantations, rice fields and a bamboo bridge called the Monkey Bridge (alluding to the monkey-like postures travellers make as they cross bamboo bridges). Later, guests visit a local house to learn making fried banana cakes and savour these freshly made cakes.

coconuts followed by a visit to a coconut processing workshop known for making coconut candies. Here, visitors take a brief break to enjoy fresh tropical fruits with a delicious honey tea. Our Ben Tre journey continues along small paths to reach a local village in the jungle, where we visit a local family that specialises in making sleeping mats.

Travellers continue moving through tranquil villages until we break for a sumptuous local lunch in the early afternoon. After relaxing for a while, guests will be transferred by tuk-tuk to a small river for a laidback sampan (traditional boat) ride into narrow canals.

This trip concludes by returning to the pier and transferring back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Ho Chi Minh City – Departure

Private transfer from your booked accommodation from one of the city’s main districts to Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport by air-conditioned vehicle.
