Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City Private transfer from Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport by air-conditioned vehicle to your booked accommodation in one of the city’s main districts. Located 7 kilometres north-west of the airport, the transfer will take approximately 30 minutes to reach your hotel in the central district in the former capital. - Overnight accommodation in Ho Chi Minh City.

Cu Chi Tunnels – Story of Saigon An early morning departure from your Ho Chi Minh City hotel sets the tone for one of the most memorable experiences outside the city – the Cu Chi Tunnels, once a stronghold of the Viet Cong. Upon arrival, watch a brief video about the lives of soldiers who resided there during the war. The narrow tunnels were pivotal in several strategic operations, including the renowned 1968 Tet Offensive. Despite sustaining damage from American B52 bombers, the tunnels served as living quarters, supply routes, and hospitals for guerrilla fighters. Have lunch at a local restaurant and return to Ho Chi Minh City around 1 pm. In the afternoon, continue your exploration of Saigon with a visit to the Reunification Palace, once a symbol of the South Vietnamese Government. Discover key areas such as the war room, banquet hall, and presidential office, offering insight into the country’s history. Your journey then continues to the War Remnants Museum, where your guide will share stories of the city’s most challenging periods during the Vietnam War. You will also visit a hidden location rarely seen by tourists, providing a unique perspective on daily life during wartime. Next, visit the Central Post Office, a historic landmark that reflects the city’s connectivity and heritage. Inside, you will find two large hand-painted maps offering a glimpse into the region’s past. A notable highlight is the original clock on the façade, which has been in operation for over a century, adding to the building’s timeless charm. Just opposite stands the Notre Dame Cathedral, an iconic neo-Romanesque structure built during the French colonial period. Together, the post office and cathedral form one of the city’s most distinctive architectural landmarks.

Itinerary Summary Continue with a leisurely stroll along Dong Khoi Street, famously featured in The Quiet American, ending at the Saigon Opera House, a building rich in history. Along the way, pass by the former CIA building, known for its role in one of the most evacuation scenes of the war. Mekong Delta River Life Full-Day After breakfast at the hotel, an early morning start from Ho Chi Minh City brings you down south to My Tho, one of the main gateways for the Mekong Delta. The scenic ride takes approximately two hours before you spot the contours of the majestic Mekong. Upon arrival, take a private boat to navigate the river and visit islands such as Tan My and Thoi Son to interact with locals as they move around traditional floating fish farms – a quintessential Mekong Delta sight. The sailing journey takes you deeper into the intricate mangroveladen stream on a traditional rowing boat. The rich vegetation covering large parts of the Mekong are a sight to behold and after the boat ride, you’ll head out onto the mainland for an adventurous journey on a bike through some of the tropical fruit orchards. Lunch is served at a local restaurant right in the heart of the Mekong Delta made with locally sourced and fresh ingredients. Additionally, demonstrations on making local pancakes will also add a unique flavour to the experience. Throughout the remainder of the afternoon, you will even have a sneak peek into a local loom to see how artisanal weavers make some of the finest fabrics.
