Urban Charm Evening Food Tour
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Shared | Half-Day | Food
Malaysia’s distinctive cuisine is shaped by the confluence of Malay, Chinese and Indian flavours and spices. The result is an explosion of flavours - spicy, sweet and sour that packs a punch in every bite. The evolution and preservation of family recipes and secrets are best observed in a local food court, where there is a flurry of people flowing in and out every hour to get a wholesome breakfast, lunch or dinner or catch up with friends over some delicious snacks.
At Lot 10 Hutong food court, we make our first stop to savour Malaysia’s quintessential dessert, Cendol—a pandan jelly-infused treat topped with coconut milk and palm sugar.
Next, we take the MRT to Sri Maha Temple, which is the oldest Hindu temple in Kuala Lumpur and is very significant to the city’s Indian community. Later, another delicacy roti canai, is ready to bowl you over with its flavourful Indian-influenced flatbread served with curry and soup. Further along, sample succulent beef meatballs in hot soup from a 70-year-old establishment.
For the main course, continue to a charcoal-fired eatery renowned for its Claypot Chicken Rice, an iconic Malaysian-Chinese dish. After relishing all the good food, visit a hidden café, to drink meticulously crafted teas that aid digestion. At the end of the tour, clients can return to Bukit Bintang MRT station by train or choose to immerse themselves further in Chinatown’s nightlife at their leisure.
