can’t always be dilliciousArt, LLC. Sometimes I have to be frank and tell you that it’s not been such a good month for painting. Also, I don’t have an LLC. There’s never a good time for my oil painting drive to sputter out, but now really is not a good time. It’s market season! There are going to be so many local markets over the next four months to seize the holiday season. It’s also time for applications to open up for the major art events taking place early next year. For me, that means The Winter Park Sidewalk Art festival… woof. That’s the gimungo national art festival that’s held right here in my backyard, Winter Park. If you’re reading this newsletter, odds are you know I was 1 of 3 emerging artists at the 2026 event. What you may not realize, is this means I cannot emerge again. I’ve emerged and now I’m being kicked out of the nest (lovingly) and forced to apply in a specific oil painting category along with a much larger pool of truly remarkable artists. The drive to make an awe-inspiring painting and secure my spot would be so very ideal right now! I’d love to get into this event again, but time will tell the story these pages will never know. I’ve secured a few Orlando markets in the meantime. For starters, a brand new experience for me was Bazaar 47’s touring night market this past month. This is a Gainesville

based venue that takes their exhibition statewide with stops all across Florida. Each stop hosts their city’s local venders, creators, performers and curates a small gallery - where my painting Saturday Field Crew was showcased. Coming up, I’ve got Milk Mart Orlando’s Spooky Soirée on October 4th and Grandma Party Bazaar on Decemeber 13th. Mark your calendars and pray that I fly!

Freeloaders, 2025, 18 x 24 inch, Oil on canvas I grew up in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, where the reference photos for this painting were taken. It’s a small (but growing) beach town south of Daytona where snowbirds come to vacation and locals drive on the sand. It’s rich in wildlife and surf culture and golden-agers. In this piece, I’ve captured a pair of dogs, not inside of or next to, but on top of, this vintage Cadillac convertible. They’re not chained or tethered to the vehicle. They simply stay, apparently waiting for their owner to finish his errand. They are not bothered to run away and jeopardize their lifestyle and, with the license plate reading [Freeloaders], you get the full picture that they are good right where they are. To me, this is the essence of NSB.

Bad Art Gallery Not only have I not painted much (at all) this past beautiful month of August, but I don’t even have a lot of bad art to show. Bad Art Gallery is honestly my favorite spread of Pastel Pasta every month. It relieves me that even sketches I don’t love or don’t even finish won’t be going to waste (they never would be). To the left, we see the botched first attempt at drawing miss Ruby (September’s cover girl). I didn’t like the size and proportions I got started and the dry pastels I was using were not working well on the paper. To the right, we see a brown paper gift bag I illustrated onto for my friend Amy P. Cubas’ 31st birthday present. Her celebration was Alien themed.

Bad Art Gallery Cont. Here we see an unfinished sketch of what my ensemble Pokemon team would look like if I was traveling the Hoenn region. That’s me in the middle, and (back from left) Ninjask, Flygon, (front from left) Cradilly, Breloom, Sceptile, and Relicanth. You may think this is substantially nerdy as it is right now... but wait until its rendered... it’ll be the coolest thing I’ve ever drawn.
