aylen Brooks was born December 6, 2002 in Wilmington, NC to Father Greg Brooks who was serving as a United States Marine and Mother Lora Brooks who worked in banking. Greg continues his career in Federal Service and Lora also continues her career in banking. Both parents graduated with honors from their respective Universities.
Jaylen plans to graduate in 2021 from Cato Middle College with a High School Diploma as well as an Associates Degree in the Arts. He has been accepted to his top colleges of choice and has secured funding to pay for his education. Jaylen has received a Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish and is considering options to pursue a professional soccer career in Latin America after college. He plans to play collegiate soccer, major in Political Science, complete his Juris Doctorate, and practice law. Jaylen is an inspiration to his younger siblings and teammates. He received honors such as Player of the Week for his high school team, Charlotte Observer Athlete of the Week Nominee, USA Today High School Athlete of the Year Nominee, and is currently a “Forward” on the Charlotte Soccer Academy Elite Team. TAYLOR CLAWSON Independence High School This little child of mine… Born 9 weeks early, you and your twin brother made me and mom so nervous we would lie up in bed just to watch you sleep or just to hold you guys in our arms all night. Little did we know that the premi in you was not a setback but you learned day ǡ ϐ ǡ ϐ Ǥ This little child of mine… ǡ ǡ ǡ ǡ ϐ ǡ cartwheeling, jumping and tumbling. We would say, “go this way”, “this is the path you should take” but no you would always create your own lane. We had no idea all the things that you were processing and creating in your little brain. This little child of mine. We learned to stay out of your way and let you go. Gymnastics? Sure, why not. Piano? Have at it, no problem. Tee-ball? Let’s do it. Dance, Swimming, track…. all came and went, that is cool we are straight. But when you grab those pom poms, started rocking to the beat, stomp and shake……Yeah now that’s where you became Great! This little child of mine… Mr. and Mrs. Clawson the Teacher said, “Taylor is having a hard time staying on task. She is not really grasping the material and having a hard time trying to understand.” Cool, we will pray about it, give her the help she needs, tutor and any other ϐ Ǥ ǯ ǡ This little child of mine… Through the years everything just clicked for you. You became the Bain Bobcat Dz ϐ dz Ǥ ǯ student through middle school and captain of the cheerleading team. You said mom and dad I’m going to be a doctor, a pediatrician, or a lawyer. One day have a big house and a nice car and shop when I feel like it……dream baby dream! This little child of mine. Now look at a God.
