ow, what an eventful year it has been thus far, and many more to come ahead of us. This fall, The Arbors invites Round Top visitors to come for far more than a day of shopping. Known for its mix of antiques, art, fashion, food, wine, and community, The Arbors is building an experience that gives guests another reason to slow down, stay awhile, and enjoy the energy that makes show season so special. From October 16 through 31, The Arbors will be alive with activity. Shoppers can browse distinctive finds and visit the venue’s talented dealers, then settle in for Happy Hour specials, wine, Prosecco, charcuterie, sales, and live music throughout the show. With a different musician or act appearing across the season, there is always something happening after the day’s treasure hunting is done. The event calendar adds even more reasons to gather, with Praise, Prayer & Pie, the Arbors Mixer at Busted Oaks, Freedom Fashion, and Supper at Sunset, along with Creative Classes, Mahjong Mingles, and Moonlit Mahjong. It is an especially exciting season at The Arbors—one that turns a visit into a complete experience. That spirit of discovery continues next door , at the Venue, with Jeff Cotton whose extensive collection makes him one of the show’s essential stops for serious collectors and anyone who simply appreciates beautiful antiques. Jeff has assembled a remarkable selection of decorative arts, antique lighting, and glass— objects that reward a closer look and often come with a story of their own. His collection includes Black Forest carvings, Loetz glass, Pairpoint, Tiffany Studios, Lalique, and many other fine antique lamps, and chandeliers. Tiffany Studios is celebrated for handcrafted leaded-glass lamps and richly colored, nature-inspired Art Nouveau design. Loetz is prized Bohemian art glass, known for luminous, iridescent surfaces. Pairpoint represents an important American tradition in fine glass and lighting, while Lalique brings French elegance through the work of René Lalique, the master jeweler and glassmaker whose designs span both Art Nouveau and Art Deco. Together, Jeff’s pieces create one of the show’s most impressive lighting displays—a beautiful finish to an experience already full of reasons to explore. HOW TO USE Show Daily
Many people don't realize that Antiques Week is not run by any one single organization, group or person. It is actually a bunch of individually run events that all coincided over a fourteen-day period. By our count, there are somewhere in the neighborhood of over 80 "shows" going on during antiques week. Pretty impressive, especially when one considers that no one is in charge. 3. The show is so big, how do I know where to find a particular venue? The Show Daily maps to the stars is an 8-page fold out map that depicts the entire Antiques Week spread, from La Grange to Burton. If you're not sure where a show or field is located, check pages 39-46 or the table of contents under Fields & Shows.
Show Daily Magazine is the only area
publication dedicated to the events. This full color guide helps visitors get around, find specific dealers and items, as well as letting people know what is going on when and where. Commonly asked questions about Antiques Week 1. Where can I find what im looking for? Looking for something specific? Check the Buyer's Guide starting on page 79 for everything from Americana to European. You'll find the dealers who carry those items, and where they set up during the events.
4. How do I know what day a particular show opens? Show daily calendar, located on pages 11, 12, and 13, lists all the different individual venues by town, and marks the dates they open with an "X". Fall 2026 dates remain pretty much the same, with the Fields in Warrenton starting to open about Thursday, October 15th. Many dealers do arrive earlier though.
2. How do I find an individual dealer? After finding your pick in the Buyer's Guide, go to page number it directed you to. You will see the advertisement and find an oval tagged in the corner with a number. These numbers correspond to the numbers on our map. Just match the numbers to pinpoint the dealer you are looking for. On each ad and you will find the name of the field or show they set up in. Open the map and find the field or show name and look for the corresponding number; bam, you found them!
5. How do I get in touch with a show owner? Use the Show Places Check-in list and guide, which begins on page 30, to find opening and closing dates and times of individual events, and to contact show or field owners/ managers. Handy information if you lose a package or changed your mind on a great deal and need to contact a dealer, or if you want to rent a booth ❏

TAXCO SILVER: An Investment in Timeless Style by Roberto Alvarado
T
hey say looking good can pay off, but looking sharp does not have to mean spending carelessly. One stylish way to protect your investment is through vintage Mexican silver jewelry from Taxco. Well-crafted, signed pieces have continued to rise in value, while the bold designs created from the 1930s through the 1950s still appear remarkably modern today. Taxco’s celebrated silver-jewelry industry began taking shape during the 1930s with the arrival of American artist and designer William Spratling. Located in the mountains of Guerrero, Mexico, Taxco already possessed a long tradition of skilled metalworking. During the colonial period, the Spanish introduced European jewelry-making techniques and trained Indigenous artisans to work with gold and silver. Although many designs were based on Spanish styles and religious themes, Mexican craftsmen gave the pieces a character of their own through their interpretation and workmanship. At the time, gold was generally considered the preferred material for fine jewelry, while silver was often viewed as a less prestigious metal. Spratling helped transform that perception. He originally went to Mexico to write for American publications and work on a novel about Mexican life. When writing failed to provide a dependable income, Dwight Morrow, the United States ambassador to Mexico, encouraged him to create and sell silver

jewelry to the growing number of American tourists. Fred Davis, another A m e r i c a n expatriate who was already successfully selling Mexican silver jewelry, provided further proof that such a venture could succeed. Spratling began producing jewelry in Taxco with the assistance of two goldsmiths recruited from nearby Iguala. A gifted artist with a deep appreciation for pre-Columbian art, he incorporated ancient Mexican imagery into bold new silver designs. His use of Indigenous motifs was especially meaningful during Mexico’s cultural reawakening, when artists and scholars were beginning to celebrate the country’s pre-Columbian heritage after generations of favoring European styles. Through his connections in artistic and academic circles, Spratling gained widespread attention for his work. During World War II, European luxury goods 20

became difficult for American buyers to obtain. Retailers and tourists turned their attention toward Mexico, bringing new customers and opportunities to Taxco. Many artisans who trained in Spratling’s workshop eventually opened studios of their own. Their creativity helped establish Taxco as an internationally recognized center for exceptional silver craftsmanship and design. That artistic movement remains William Spratling’s enduring legacy. Today, vintage Taxco jewelry is valued not only for its beauty, but also for its craftsmanship, cultural history and unmistakable Mexican identity ❏

here is something about JillSuzanne that makes ordinary things feel sacred. While traveling and sourcing pieces of the past, she sees what may be overlooked: a table holding memories of its maker or a family heirloom carrying stories shared across generations. According to Jill.
“Antiques are pieces of lives, of a family’s history, and the beauty of things endured.” Travel and the people she meets in small, unfamiliar towns have become part of her story. Old churches, barns, and farms always draw her in. Places where time moves more slowly hold a special place in her heart. Jill brings many treasures home, but more importantly, she brings home memories. Yet, no matter how far she travels, she always returns to the true collection of her life...her family.
JillSuzanne’s life is not a collection of coincidences. God has led her to where she is today and has been present in the quiet moments, the unexpected turns, the journeys, the disappointments, and all the blessings. JillSuzanne and her husband, John, greatly look forward to the spring and fall shows in Warrenton/ Round Top. The Showhouse is where the people they love gather, where memories are made, and where the places and experiences that have shaped them come together with the faith that always carries them home.
JillSuzanne and her family have been showing at Little House Field in Warrenton for over 26 years and are known for their unique finds, one-of-a-kind primitives, cupolas, candles, and Jill’s distinctive advertisements.

BENEATH THE WAVES: The Real Search For Shipwreck Treasure
L
et’s dive into what it really takes to recover Spanish shipwreck treasure along Florida’s coast with Mel King, a member-manager of 1715 Fleet Queens Jewels (QJ) and owner of Big Blue Treasures. A Round Top exhibitor for more than 25 years, King is known for specializing in authentic shipwreck and treasure coins from around the world. For him, treasure hunting is far removed from Hollywood’s version—there are no simple “X marks the spot” discoveries, and it certainly isn’t finders, keepers.
Once underwater, the reality is equally challenging. Florida shipwrecks are typically not intact vessels. Hurricanes drove ships toward shore, breaking them apart and scattering debris across miles of coastline. “There’s a lot more looking than finding,” King explains. Divers search the sand with metal detectors, encountering far more fishing weights and modern debris than treasure. Poor visibility can mean hearing a target before seeing it—and a silver coin can sound remarkably similar to an aluminum can. Wind, waves, and tropical weather can stop an operation entirely.
“If it was easy to do, everybody would do it,” King says. Shipwreck salvage in the United States is highly regulated. 1715 Fleet QJ operations comply with state and federal requirements and require permits involving regulatory agencies. Recovered material is documented, and Florida may request up to 20 percent of unique discoveries for the state archives.
For King, one unforgettable moment came in, when he was present for a major discovery of gold coins during the 300th anniversary year of the 1715 Fleet’s sinking. Recovered artifacts are tagged with archaeological numbers, examined, c o n s e r v e d , photographed, recorded, and

Reclaimed
wood flooring is crafted from lumber salvaged from historic homes, barns, factories and other buildings— many of them constructed around the turn of the 20th century. Rich with age and character, these timeworn boards bring warmth, tradition and a tangible connection to the past into today’s homes. Whether the setting is contemporary, traditional, rustic or elegantly refined, reclaimed wood can complement nearly any design. When properly selected and milled, antique lumber is difficult to rival in beauty, density and clarity of grain. From the moment she arrived in Round Top on the way to a conference, AJ was certain this special place would become somewhere meaningful for her future family. When Greg and AJ met, their mutual adoration for history and its preservation through architecture became very clear. seems like a long way off, especially now, walking around these fields probably on the verge of heat stroke, but it will be here sooner than you think. Besides, it’s never too early to start planning your holiday decorating, and do a little shopping while you're here. The vintage Christmas look continues to grow in popularity. Many of the decorations granny once used are now among the most desirable holiday collectibles. Aluminum Christmas trees are especially popular. These shiny reminders of mid-century Christmases can usually be found for around $75, although an exceptional one may sell for as much as $400. Bubble lights are another favorite. Remember those candle-shaped lights that began bubbling once they warmed up? Although modern versions are still available, collectors seem to prefer the vintage originals. Elf figurines also remain in demand. People love elves—what can we say? These cheerful little characters bring plenty of personality and nostalgia to any holiday display. Vintage mercury glass never goes out of style at Christmas time. Older German and Czech ornaments are especially sought after, and lucky shoppers may even discover a strand of vintage mercury-glass garland. Prices vary widely depending on the age, rarity and condition of each piece. Perhaps the strangest and most surprising items on the Christmas collectibles list are vintage departmentstore toy catalogs. Holiday catalogs from the 1950s are especially popular, with some selling for as much as $200. One of best places to shop antique Christmas stuff, is at the YStation, with Len Peters. He has the best collection I have ever seen, with some very rare pieces! So, while you’re shopping the fields in the Texas heat, keep Christmas in mind. There is a corner in Carmine at Spur 458 and Hwy 237 where visitors often intend to stop for a few
minutes and wind up spending the day.
At YStation, shoppers browse antiques, collectibles, repurposed treasures, and one-of-a-kind finds before settling into a rhythm that feels increasingly rare. They sip fresh lemonade, visit with vendors, linger beneath the shade trees, and soon discover that no one seems to be in much of a hurry. "We don't try to create an atmosphere. We have it." — Len Peters For owner Len Peters, YStation is less about becoming the newest destination than preserving something many longtime Market visitors have been searching for. That philosophy extends beyond the atmosphere to the property itself. Peters purchased the corner as a business opportunity but quickly saw something more. He fell in love with the old Y Service Station and its collection of historic buildings—including a garage, egg cooler, tractor barn, turkey barn, sausage factory, and lean-to—and set out to restore them. What locals once regarded, in Peters' words, "As a corner in total disrepair.", has become one of Carmine's and Hwy 237's most distinctive venue destinations. Visitors arrive expecting a quick stop and often leave

wondering where the day went. The draw extends beyond the merchandise, though Y Station has earned a reputation for quality "old-school antiques," according to vendor Vicki Davis of Texas Rose Antiques. The real attraction is the authenticity that fills every corner of the property.

Peters has spent decades in the antiques business, first helping his parents before making it his full-time career in 1993. Those years shaped a philosophy centered less on competition than on community. His goal has never been simply to lease space but to build a place where dealers support one another. Today, he describes the vendor community at the Y as "like family". Nancy Weaver of Antiques Everywhichway has witnessed that firsthand. After joining Y Station five years ago, she has watched both the property and its owner continue to evolve, affectionately calling Peters "Ricochet Rabbit" for his constant improvements and endless energy.

KEEPING HISTORY ALIVE T
here’s a new chapter being written inside one of Carmine’s oldest commercial buildings—and for the family behind A Little of This, A Little of That, it feels especially close to home. Aimee Kraemer and her four daughters, Brittany, Brianna, Jayla and Jerika, recently purchased the historic property at 108 Thigpen Street. Built in the 1890s, the building has served the community as a place of commerce and connection for more than 130 years. Aimee grew up just seven miles away in Burton and later raised her daughters in the Round Top-Carmine area. Today, those two generations of local roots are coming together as the family preserves the building’s historic charm while creating a welcoming shopping destination.
The antique mall is home to 11 vendors offering antiques, vintage finds, home décor, collectibles, art, clothing, records and unexpected treasures. With vendors regularly bringing in new merchandise, each visit offers something different to discover.
