“A Forgiving Heart” From Pastor Randy Weaver Those words roll off our tongues with ease, but if we’re honest they don’t roll out of our hearts with ease. Forgiveness is a challenge and forgetting is downright impossible. But grace calls us to remember. Hebrews 8:12 says: “God will remember our sins no more.” However, Matthew 12:36 says “we will have to give an account for every careless word spoken.” If God remembers our sins no more, why do we have to give an account? We are even commanded to forget what is behind. I’ve done things that I wish that I could forget, but I find it actually impossible to completely forget some things. We need to learn how to use our memory to further His grace. We need to put away falsehoods. I don’t want to minimize your hurt or tell you that your hurt isn’t that bad, because I’m sure that it is. The bible tells us to “be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” That would not be in the bible if it were not possible for us to do. God wants you to forgive, and not forget, never forget. Keep no record of wrongs, live in the act of grace. He did not design us to forget, He wants us to remember. In fact, we have to remember because forgiveness is a choice. Forgiveness is a form of voluntary suffering. If we forgive, that cancels the debt and we absorb it ourselves. We choose to pay the debt ourselves – “voluntary suffering”. Forgiveness is a choice, whether it’s you and me forgiving each other or God forgiving us. I think this is where we get confused with that whole forgive and forget stuff. Jeremiah 31:34 says, “For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” We believe that God is all-knowing, right? The truth is, He doesn’t forget. God considers your sin inadmissible evidence in court. He will not, and cannot, hold it against you. That’s God’s
choice and forgiveness is our choice. It’s not automatic; we can’t simply flip a switch. But since we’ve decided to put on a new self in the likeness of God, we change choices. We choose reconciliation through suffering. Some of us are angry and that’s ok. It’ not a sin to be angry. If that anger draws us away from the likeness of God, we need to check it and control it. Choose forgiveness. If we could forget the hurt we wouldn’t need to choose to forgive. We don’t forgive because the other person deserves it. In most cases they don’t. However, I didn’t deserve forgiveness when Jesus forgave me of my transgressions. Some of us are holding onto hurts. To not forgive is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. It’s not about them; it’s about you and your heart. We also have to remember that forgiveness in and of itself isn’t the goal. It’s about the restoration of a loving and caring relationship. There is not guarantee the person that you’re forgiving is going to change, but without forgiveness, we won’t change either. God’s grace and forgiveness, while free to the recipient, are always costly for the giver. From the earliest parts of the bible, it was understood that God could not forgive without sacrifice.
better deal with better results. When we determine that our hurt is too raw or too big for us to let go of, then we have decided that our hurt is more important than God’s grace. He wants you to fall so in love with His grace that you want nothing less for anyone else. There is nothing easy about going to the cross. I believe I owe it to those who have wronged me to be the greatest display of the grace of God in their lives. If I can’t turn my pain into His grace then I have wasted my pain. I want you to consider this too – I believe that forgiveness is worship, maybe at its purest form. When you voluntarily give your heart over to His grace, you meet His heart. Your hurts, your pains and your loss are transformed into His story Forgive and never for-
get. Never forget the choice God made for you, to pay your debt. Never forget the change He’s bringing in your life, to mold you into His image. And never ever forget that the story of His grace isn’t finished yet. Not for you and not for the one that hurt you. Never forget that. Matthew 6:15 “But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Forgiveness will definitely cost you something. One of the things it will cost you is yourself, your own desire for revenge or justice. It will cost you your own heart, but it will give you the heart of God. As much as you want to hold onto these hurts and make the other person pay, forgiveness is by far the

Big Al’s View Of The World
I’ve watched a lot of tv in my life. I’m not a big sports fan. I don’t sit around all day on Sunday and watch football or golf. I’m more into sitcoms. I think I’ve seen almost every Big Bang Theory ever made. Not just because of Penny, although that is reason enough to watch. I basically got hooked a long time ago and it just stuck with me. My wife and I used to watch Friends when we first got married. It was the show back then to watch. I remember watching the final episode of Friends, MASH and now the Big Bang Theory. Final episodes never fail to disappoint you. They never end how you want them to. They kind of just leave you in limbo wanting more. I’m pretty sure they do that on purpose. One show I’ve never ever watched is the Game of Thrones. So it came as a surprise the other day when I was mowing in the bottom where normally I don’t even have phone service and I got a notification to go watch a YouTube video to catch up on the Game of Thrones. I was weaving in and out of limbs with my cab tractor. The hogs had torn up the ground so bad I was bouncing from side to side and I had to pee. I was not in

a good mood. It was a better mood with the a/c and the radio but still I was ready to get off of the tractor long before my phone “dinged.” So when I had to contort myself into position to get my phone from my front pocket it was just making my day. I was expecting my wife to call or text at any moment to say she was headed home. When I looked at the screen I can promise you that you didn’t want to be inside that cab with me. I’m not into wizards or dragons or anything to do with the fairy tale world. Game of Thrones is not something I have ever needed to subscribe to HBO for. I sure didn’t need to catch up on it on YouTube. I wish I could say that I politely put my phone back into my pocket and kept on mowing, but I didn’t. I had already had enough of hog ruts, pecan tree limbs and my tea from Whataburger that it was time to call it a day. How is it in a creek bottom that seldom has cell phone service for my more important calls was this one annoying notification able to get through? Modern technology has no bounds. Thank goodness my wife called within the next few minutes and it was time to “head to the house” for
1 Year Subscriptions $25 2 Yrs for $45 - 3 Yrs for $60
some relief and some supper. I’m not sure how these notifications started coming to my phone but I get them all of the time. I’ve looked for a way to turn them off to no avail. I get them in the middle of the night, all during the day. And now that GOT (Game of Thrones for you newbies) is over, now they have counselors standing by to console you after the final episode. Get a life!!! If you need consoling after a tv show you might have a problem. I just lost my future girlfriend of 12 years and I’m doing fine. At least so far. You didn’t really think I watched Big Bang for the nerds did you. We’ve just got to suck it up. We’ll be fine without Penny. At least I hope so. The only thing worse than these notifications are the robo calls I get 20 times a day. In the old days you could tell when it was a robo call because it was from some weird number in a far off land. You knew right away you didn’t need to answer that call. Now they use local numbers from your area. You know you don’t know the number but it’s from your town and it might the mayor calling with the key to the city. It could be the banker calling with news about a lost deposit they just found for your account. Nope, it’s none of those. It’s just Laura calling to see if ObamaCare is working for you. It’s probably John with the International Brotherhood of Police wanting to know if you wanted to help out with their fund raiser. The best ones are the ones that start off with “this is not a sales call.” Then what the heck is it???

PANEL WALKER The most advanced horse walker on the market. Unlike traditional walkers, the Priefert Panel Walker eliminates the need to tie your horses to the walker so they’re able to move about more freely and naturally. Panel walkers "push" the horse instead of "pulling" it. Horses that have never been in a walker before become trained to use the walker instantly. Available in 4, 6, or 8 horse configurations. Meet Your UPRA Breakaway Director Alex Flautt By Krista Lucas Breakaway roping is becoming more and more popular, and with the right people paving the way, the sport will continue to grow in the right direction. The United Professional Rodeo Association and Cowboy’s Professional Rodeo Association has seen many great ropers back in the box including a cowgirl from Novice, Texas named Alex Flautt. “I have been a member of the UPRA since 2013, and I believe the CPRA since 2014,” Flautt said. “I have made the finals those years, and in 201314 I won the rookie of the year in the UPRA and CPRA. That was pretty neat. I have won a couple of rounds at the UPRA finals also.” Her accomplishments are the result of years of hard work. Flautt grew up
surrounded by the sport of rodeo, getting her start at an early age. “I have been raised around horses and cattle my whole life. My parents always had cows, and when my brother and I were about five or six we started doing the local
Junior Rodeo Association, and the rest is history. We were gone just about every weekend to rodeos. I had never played a sport until I got to the seventh grade and played for the school. That was fun but not what I wanted to spend all my time doing. Rodeo is a way of
other rodeo family. When her father passed away in 2012, Flautt learned to lean on her faith in God and also her mother and brother. “We serve a mighty God, and He has held my hand in the lowest of times and the highest of highs,” she said. “I have an amazing family and friends that are like family also that help me along the way.” Every year, a memorial ranch rodeo is held in her father’s honor. The fifth annual Gil Flautt IV Memorial Ranch Rodeo was held in April at the Paris Rodeo and Horse Club Arena. The community comes together to participate in four man teams in events like ranch bronc riding, mugging, team penning, stray gathering, and wild cow milking. Along with a great family and friends, Flautt has had several good horses in her lifetime. “For the past eight years or so, if you saw me in the arena I was on my bay horse, Danny. Before a breakaway horse, he was a team roping horse. I needed something to rope calves on so started riding him, he picked it up and was my main man. Just a natural and such an athlete,” she said. “Unfortunately he is not getting any younger, and I have decided to retire him. He has arthritis in his knee, and he has done way too much for me and the guys that rode him before I had him for him not to enjoy his retirement.” Now, Flautt is riding a 10-year-old sorrel gelding named “Conrad”. She added him to her string

him now. He reminds me a lot of Danny, he gives 100% every time.” The duo’s most recent big win was the first round at the invitational Windy Ryon breakaway roping. Flautt has been invited to the historic roping several times and said she is lucky to be roping with some of the best breakaway ropers around. The committee always works hard to put on a true cowboy and cowgirl event. “I was a little nervous about the Windy Ryon this year because my horse is green, and that is a whole lot of room for him to look around, but he couldn’t have done better,” Flautt said. “I won the first round and figure-eighted a front leg on my second one.” When she is not roping, Flautt is a real estate agent and also the UPRA breakaway roping director. As director, she strives to do what is best for every roper and make it better than ever. “I am currently the UPRA breakaway roping director, and I was voted in by the board members. The director’s
COWBOYSPORTSNEWS.COM
duties are to get prizes for the finals and sponsorships. Being my first year as director I am just kind of seeing how it all goes and hoping I can do the best jobs for the girls in the fast growing sport.” Her day job is currently with Century 21 Harvey Properties Real Estate out
of Paris, Texas. She works in residential and farm and ranch, combining her love of helping people, while giving her time to rodeo as well. “I can honestly say I love my job. I get to meet so many different people, I like to talk, and making people’s
trail went when I get back. You don’t get that everywhere.” Although she has many years ahead of her, she has already learned that life is short and to make the most of it. Flautt wants to live each day bringing happiness to those around her and being the best
dream become a reality is very rewarding. My broker was raised in the rodeo family also; so having that in common helps too. My work family supports me when I am gone and always wants to know how the rodeo
roper, director and agent she can be. “Even though there’s a line between work and play, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your work too,” Flautt said.
Family, friends and animals make up Alex Flautt’s world. When she is not roping you can find her at her day job as a real estate agent. Bottom: One of Alex’s biggest wins came at last year’s Spicer Gripp Memorial Roping in Hereford, Texas when she won the breakway roping championship. She also won the First Round at this past month’s Windy Ryon Memorial Roping in Saginaw, Texas.

In The Spotlight With Sunny B’ It took four different phone connections with young talent Ashley Castleberry today to get this interview, but we got it done. Her cell service was a bit shakey while driving through the mountains enroute to a rodeo. Here is what I was able to find out about our Montgomery, Texas barrel racer and past CPRA Barrel Racing Champion. Sunny: At what age did you first notice barrel racing? Ashley: I first noticed calf roping. My dad roped and that is I what I wanted to do. My cousin ran barrels some and that is how I saw barrels for the first time. I started out at small jackpots and then some youth rodeos. I worked my way up from there. Sunny: Have you always been
if I wanted to ride it a little for her. I said yes. We clicked right away and I knew I had to have him. Sunny: What is the breeding on Stormy. Ashley: He is an 8 year old Captain Perks. Sunny: What do you think has been main the main factor in preparing you for prorodeo this summer. Ashley: Definitely going to the CPRA & UPRA rodeos. That was the platform for my success. If you can go to them and enter and win or place I feel like you can do good anywhere. There are some really nice horses going to the
home? Ashley: Out here you have to know when and where to enter. At home I entered myself but out here I have an agent that helps me get entered where and when I need to be. There is so much to learn. Tammy Fisher is a huge factor in me getting to the rodeos I need to be entered in at the best time to be there and also planning my itinerary. If for some reason I have to come home I will start entering around there again for sure as there is a lot of money to be won
building rodeos in 2020. Sunny: Have you had any funny or odd experiences out there traveling? Ashley: Well I guess it would have to be missing my English Bulldog. Lola and my mom flew all the way out here to Nebraska with Lola on her lap. Of course she had to become a service dog, but she is anyway. We love Lola! Sunny: What would you tell other young ladies your age? Ashley: Be passionate about what you do in whatever it is that you love. Stay focused. There is always a way to achieve the goals you set for yourself. Work hard, take care of your horse and keep your rig clean and organized. It makes living out here a lot better. Sunny: If you could make a run on any other horse out there which one would it be? Ashley: Well actually there are a couple. I would love to ride Sherri Cervi’s Stingray and then of course Hailey Kinsel’s great mare Sister.
in the CPRA and UPRA rodeos. Sunny: What’s your favorite food? Ashley: Pizza mounted well? Ashley: Not like I am now. I had a couple of nice horses and did okay. Sunny: How did you get the horse you ride now? Ashley: A lady named Holly Calfee lived 5 minutes from me. She knew I liked to ride and would always let me come ride with her. She had this horse named Stormy and she asked
CPRA and UPRA rodeos and it is very competitive. Sunny: How did you decide to join the WPRA? Ashley: Talking to the ladies hauling here to the amateurs. They said you have a nice horse why don’t you give it a try on the road. Sunny: How is it different out there from rodeos here at
Cowboy Sports News Page 16 - July 2019
Sunny: What kind of music do you listen to? Ashley: Willies Roadhouse! Sunny: What are some goals you have set for yourself? Ashley: Long term of course is the NFR someday. As of now I am wanting to make the circuit finals and be in the top 35 to 50 so that I may qualify for the
S u n n y : Is there anything else you would like people to know about rodeo life on the road? Ashley: There are really a lot of great people out here. People who really do care about one another. If you need a place to stay or keep your horse or to just rest, someone is always there to offer advice. Also I would say to start out in great amateur rodeo associtions that will prepare you for the bigger picture. That is where you learn to enter and compete and especialy learn to win.

WCRA TITLETOWN STAMPEDE CONCLUDES AND PAYS OUT $1,000,000 IN GREEN BAY WISCONSIN GREEN BAY, Wis. --The World Champions Rodeo Alliance (WCRA) closed out their second $1,000,000 major of 2019 offering $111,000 per discipline in Green Bay Wisconsin at the Titletown Stampede in front of a sold-out crowd, Saturday night. The team roping duo Garrett Tonozzi and Joe Mattern found themselves championing for the second straight time at a WCRA major after topping Luke Brown and Paul Eaves no-time with a 12.55 time. The team, Tonozzi and Mattern, walked away with $62,500 each. Bringing their WCRA win total to more than $135,000 each since November 2018. Sisters Shelby and Makayla Boisjoli made it a family affair in the final round where Shelby beat older sister Makayla after running a 2.88 second time compared to Makayla’s 8.77 seconds. Bareback riders Clayton Biglow and Seth Hardwick faced each other in the showdown round where Hardwick bested Biglow’s 91-point score with 92 points on top of J Bar J’s stock, All Pink. The Wyoming Cowboy went home with a $50,000 check. After earning the number two spot at the WCRA Windy City Roundup (January 2019), steer wrestler Stockton Graves met Tory Johnson in the final round at the Titletown Stampede, where he ran a 3.65 to best Johnson and win $62,500 after Johnson’s no-time. Michelle Darling rode in the Resch Center arena after Sabra O’Quinn received a five second penalty (18.489 total time), knowing that all she needed to do was not knock down a barrel. Darling shattered the competition running a performance best 13.368 time and earning a $50,000
paycheck. Louisiana’s Cody DeMoss defeated Shorty Garrett in saddle bronc after earning 90.5-points, to rout Garrett’s 85-point score. Demoss won $50,000. Number three world ranked bull rider Joao Ricar-

Breaking It Down With Speed Williams Leave your sweet spot to become a better roper While we were at the Texas Junior High finals in Gonzales I had some match ropings for girls and boys on the Speed Trainers. In the breakaway match the girls were really reaching to the end of their rope at 18 feet and the boys were reaching up to 24 feet. A lot of kids did pretty good. But, when I put money up for the close drill where you have to have weight in your stirrups, butt out of the saddle, not pulling bridle reins (and lighting up the Speed Trainer), then take two swings, rope and dally under 2.5 seconds it was a different story. I had over 40 kids go and didn’t have two qualified times. There were a few that I had given lessons to that could do it. Afterwards we talked about it. When you spend all that time roping the dummy at 10 to 12 feet with a one coil reach, and don’t work on other options and scenarios, then you are very limited. That’s one of the things the Speed Trainer
built for, to find holes in my kids and clients roping. I can set it up at all different angles and positions. For every possible loop you will ever have to throw at a steer, I can create that scenario. I’ve had #4 headers that when roping the dummy within an 18” circle looked like a #7. But if the dummy moved closer or further out of that window, they couldn’t catch at all. It would be like learning to play golf and only using one club. Team ropers struggle to get in the same position. When roping the dummy on the ground, they rope from the same position over and over, called their sweet spot. Once you’re in the middle of a run it’s very difficult to get in that same sweet spot every time. Especially now with so many ropings using the World Series barrier where you have a long box and short start. You have to learn to rope the steers close because the slow cow is the one you want to draw. There were so many young kids that couldn’t catch the good cow. But they could reach 20’ on the dummy and look outstanding. That doesn’t apply just
Improve faster with realistic practice using the new Speed Trainer
to the youngsters. I have clients who are #6 and #7 headers that don’t work on their short game. Understanding your weakness and being willing to work at that, and not just rope in your comfort zone, is essential if you’re going to improve. Professional header, and NFR qualifier, Dustin Egusquiza lives about 30 minutes from me and has been coming over regularly for the last couple of months. His “go fast” is quite amazing. Jake Long’s “go fast” is quite amazing. But their jackpotting was lacking. We’ve talked a lot about living on the edge and doing things with a very small error margin on every run. What’s fun about working with those guys is when you give them something to try, they are able to change and implement it very quickly. I have some slow steers with big horns and Dustin runs them every time he comes because in the beginning he really struggled with them. A couple of days ago when we watched the video and he had roped them all, he said he had “mastered the big horns” that day. That was him working on things he doesn’t do well. When he would run close he would have way too much rope between him and the cow. So, we had to shorten his loop and spoke, then
he learned to slide his left hand forward to take up slack, before pulling his slack. Doing this he can get his rope tight before going left. He had never worked much on roping close because his reaching is so good. A lot of the guys from back east, Kaleb, Dustin, and myself, we were all reachers to begin with but then you have to evolve and learn the rest of the game. Every day that Dustin comes over he gets on the Speed Trainer and does close up drills and then pushes it out as far as he can throw it. His riding has come a long way. What’s new with me: I’m very happy with my kids’ roping and the drills their doing on the Speed Trainer. They’ve both improved dramatically especially Hali with her breakaway and Gabe with his heeling. For more information on the Speed Trainer, visit speedroping. com and check out the videos to see how it can help your roping. One of my favorite benefits is how much it improves horsemanship and riding. It keeps you from pulling on the bridle all the time. This helps your horse not run through the bridle. It’s frustrating for people to change bits constantly trying to find something to control their horse, when usually it’s pilot error.

Champions crowned at 71st College National Finals Rodeo CASPER, Wyoming (June 15, 2019) -- The 71st annual College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) crowned 2019 individual, all-around and team champions during the final round of competition Saturday at the Casper Events Center. In the nine individual events and in the all-around, those ranked first when the night began were expected to take home the national championships. However, in rodeo anything can happen and in some cases the winners came from behind to earn their titles. In goat tying Mia Manzanares, a recent summa cum laude graduate of McNeese State University, began the night ranked fourth. Manzanares, the 2019 CNFR champion in goat tying, breakaway roping and the allaround from Opelousas, Louisiana, trailed the leader by 1.1 seconds. Last year she won the final round of goat tying with a time of 5.9 seconds. This year she was even faster, stopping the clock in 5.8 seconds, to take the overall lead with three contestants still to compete. Her total time was 25.1, just two-tenths of a second slower than last year’s winning total. But Beau Peterson, a freshman nursing major at Oklahoma Panhandle State University from Council Grove, Kansas, had a one-tenth of a second lead on Manzanares when the final round began. Peterson, who competed just after Manzanares, tied her goat in 5.9 seconds and tied Manzanares’ total of 25.1. The two contestants who were first and second coming into the finals were not able beat Peterson and Manzanares, so the two women are 2019 goat tying co-champions. Manzanares also won her second consecutive women’s all-around title. Coby Johnson, an Idaho cowboy riding for Sheridan College in Wyoming, came into the final round of bull riding knowing a qualified ride would earn him the championship since he was the only cowboy to ride his first three bulls. But bull riding is nothing if not unpredictable. Johnson was the next to last rider to compete and Frontier Rodeo’s bull Show Ring threw him to the dirt. That opened the door for Daylon Swearingen, a freshman from Pifford, New York, who rides for Texas’ Panola College. Swearingen scored 76 points on
Vold Rodeo Co.’s bull Landslide to earn 237 total points and win the championship. Swearingen has been making his mark on the bull riding scene this year. He is currently ranked 23rd in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) bull riding standings and 19th in the Professional Bull Riders (PBR). He is also seventh in the PRCA all-around standings. Swearingen is one of the few individuals from east of the Mississippi to win a national championship at the CNFR in 71 years. The steer wrestling almost saw another come-from-behind
Cowboy Sports News Page 62 - June 2019
winner. Bridger Anderson, a sophomore at Northwestern Oklahoma State University from Carrington, North Dakota, led the event and was the final contestant. To win the title, he needed a time of 6.9 seconds or better. His slowest time of the week had been 4.7, so a time under seven seconds seemed likely. But that was before Anderson missed grabbing the nose of the
steer and almost lost all contact with the animal. He managed to get it to the ground in 6.7 seconds to salvage the championship. Taylor Munsell, a 2019 graduate of Northwestern Oklahoma State University from Harmon, Oklahoma, earned the breakaway roping championship with a total time of 10.5 seconds over four rounds. Munsell, who earned her
COWBOYSPORTSNEWS.COM
degree in Health and Sports Science, won the title at her second CNFR riding a horse she bought for just $200. The 22-year-old cowgirl was also the breakaway reserve champion at RFD-TV’s The American in March. While Northwestern Oklahoma State University has a history of success at the CNFR, particularly on the men’s side, Munsell is the first woman to earn a championship for the school in Alva, Oklahoma. A pair of seniors from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Dalton Titsworth of Ravenna, Paola, Kansas, and Kolton White of Sumner, Texas, won first in team roping with a total time of 27.9 seconds. Titsworth was competing at his first CNFR while White was back for the third time. His best previous finish was fifth in bull riding in 2017. Chance Ames, a junior from Big Piney, Wyoming, riding for Sheridan College scored 82.5 points on Vold Rodeo Co.’s horse Wrangler Valley to win third in the final round of bareback riding. That score gave the construction technology major the championship by four points. Junior Haven Meged from Miles City, Montana, earned Texas’
Tarleton State University a 2019 championship. He won the tie-down roping with a total time of 36.7 seconds. Meged, an ag industries and agencies major, finished tenth in the event at last year’s CNFR. He is having a great professional rodeo season – winning the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo and currently ranked in the top 10 in the PRCA world standings. Sophomore Riggin Smith, who competes for Texas’ Clarendon College, won the saddle bronc riding with a 76.5-point ride on two-time National Finals Rodeo bucking horse Painted Coast from Vold Rodeo Co. That gave Smith, who is from Winterset, Iowa, third place in the round and earned him the championship with 311 points on four broncs. Ashtyn Carlson, a 19-yearold sophomore at the College of Southern Idaho, was the barrel racing leader when the night began. All other events are run in a 12th to first-place order, but competition positions are drawn in the barrel racing where running near the first can be an advantage. Carlson drew the undesirable last position and watched as several racers clocked times that would have won first in previous rounds.

Carlson, from Loma, Colorado, did not succumb to the pressure – instead she made her fastest run of the week, 14.03 seconds, to secure her first college championship. Caleb McMillan, a 21-year-old junior from Soap Lake, Washington, took home the men’s all-around championship for Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming. McMillan competed in saddle bronc riding, bull riding and tie-down roping and qualified for the final round in bull riding. Panola College, a two-year community college in Carthage, Texas, won the men’s team championship with another Texas school, Hill College, finishing second. McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana, took the women’s team championship for the second year in a row. Mia Manzanares won the 2018 title single-handedly, but this year the team not only got points from the goat tying and all-around champ, but from other team members. Reserve champion women’s team was the College of Southern Idaho. 2019 COLLEGE NATIONAL FINALS RODEO CHAMPIONS
