Breaking It Down With Speed Williams Staying competitive after getting your number raised This month I want to talk about my daughter and being a #6 has changed our training and drills. Hali roped at her first USTRC Finals as a #3 when she was 12. In teaching her, the most important thing was safety, and then to have a high catch percentage. When she first started, I cut her rope off so she only had one coil. The object was to leave the box, ride across the line, swing and be ready to rope when she got there. And she was roping horns right to left. Actually she only had one coil until she was a #5. Because if she rode correctly, that’s all she needed. She didn’t need to reach and that served her very well through Junior High School rodeo. I think she only missed one steer each year of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. That’s a very good catching percentage. She has risen to the occasion with every number change, but this #6 has been more challenging. With those fundamentals, she won the #11 Shoot

Out two years in a row. After the finals we went to an Extreme roping in Stephenville where she didn’t win much, but roped outstanding. Afterwards she was moved to a #6. I called the Global Numbering office the other day,\ to find out her stats. As a #6 she has entered 74 times and placed four times. This #6 card has caused us to completely change her style of roping. Now she has to learn to rope both horns at the same time and rope on the gain. There are lots of #4+ and #5+ boys who can reach two coils. When we got moved to a #6, she could barely drop one coil. Her foundation was built on riding a good horse and not making mistakes. Recently I uploaded a video on speedroping.com about changing from roping right to left to roping both horns at the same time. I talk about the things we had to fix and how we had to completely overhaul the way we rope. I don’t believe roping both horns at the same time is the best way for beginners to learn to rope. If I did, I would have taught my daughter to do that. It’s very inconsistent and makes

it easy to split horns or wave off. However, there are benefits. Now we’re learning to use our ability and not just rely on our horse. I have her riding practice horses where she comes across the line and has to throw her rope on the second or third swing, no matter where the cow is. And we are starting to get where we can catch some. This weekend at the high school rodeo, she drew a bad calf that ran extremely hard. I had her use a head rope and two coils. We’ve actually been using a head rope in her breakaway practice to work on her reaching. It paid off on this calf. She was 2.6 and 2.7 and caught him from a good distance both times. Those videos are also on speedroping.com. I’m excited with the progress she’s made in the last few months. As a #6 you can’t go catch and set the run up when you draw runners. You have to learn to reach and be able to create shots. Having that versatility is one of the things we’re working on right now. Granted, when you’re in the short round and you need to just catch, roping right to left is a much higher percentage shot. On the other hand, roping both horns at the same time looks cooler and gives more range to overcome when you draw fast

steers. You’re able to reach and not have to run them to the back end. What is your roping style? If you’re missing, splitting horns, or waving off, you might want to work on roping close. It’s like playing golf… you have to be able to make the putts. You have to catch in the short round. Knowing when to use your rope and when to use your horse is important at every level. What’s new with me: I enjoy watching my kids work at and improve their roping. We use the Speed Trainer daily to break habits and overcome weaknesses. Gabe’s weakness is dallying and we do a lot of drills to address that. Hali’s weakness is reaching. We get to spend time working on those things without wearing out horses. For the last few years I’ve primarily focused on private schools. I’m actually in the process of putting up a covered arena at my place so I can teach some bigger schools. We’ve got Hali a breakaway lane and have been doing some breakaway clinics as well. I’m very grateful that both of kids want to do something I’m able to help them with. R&M Rodeo Photos If you remember in last month’s article I was heading to my first day of class teaching agricultural economics at a junior college. One month in and things are actually going pretty good. On the way to class that first day I called my wife and told her “what the hell was I thinking.” I was scared to death but like John Wayne says all over Facebook, “Courage is being scared but saddling up anyway.” Well, I saddled up and went into class. I can’t say it was easy but we made it through that first day of class without throwing up my breakfast. I think for the most part the kids like me and for the most part I like them. They are all a pretty good bunch of young adults. One of my students actually wanted to interview me for a paper in another class. I guess they feel comfortable with me enough to interview me. Like I said last

month, the ag economics class also counts as a humanities class. They want us to teach the students that life is just one big economics lesson. For every choice you make in this world there is a consequence. You don’t always know how it’s going to turn out. It might be good or it might be bad. Bad choices usually lead to bad consequences. It is our hope that they learn these are not the correct choice, but as some of you with friends can attest to this is not always the case. We all have that one person we know that just can’t make good decisions even though they try very hard to do “right.” And so is life! I called my wife the other day after class and told I did some “professor stuff” that day in class. I was pretty proud of myself. It’s all coming back, little by little. Choices. You make them. Some bad, some good. The outcome is yours. Own

it, regret it, fix it, laugh about it or remember it for next time. Spring is basically upon us even though as I write this it is 38 degrees outside. This issue already has some events advertised that will be t shirt and shorts weather. Of course in Texas that could be tomorrow. There are a lot of really good events coming up in the next few months. Liberty Hill, Texas is hosting their annual rodeo in April. It is always a good one to go to and Corey Ross and the Williamson County Cowboy Church put on a great event. The Lee County Sheriff’s Posse CPRA rodeo in Giddings that same weekend. This is a CPRA Membership rodeo this year and with the extra added money will be on the “go to” list for sure. The Tejas Rodeo kicks off its new season March 7th in Bulverde. Madisonville, Woodville, Poteet, Lindale and the Big Easter Rodeo in Liberty all make the list every year. Joe Beaver has his Jr Superstars Roping Easter weekend in Alvarado and Chris Neal will kick off the summer run with his annual Future Stars Roping in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Regardless of where you go, make sure you get there with the Cowboy Sports News. We are approaching our 30 Anniversary this summer.

Smith wins second place plus $5,000 Jerry Ann Taylor Award at Fort Worth by Johna Cravens for the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo For the second consecutive year barrel racer Jimmie Smith of McDade, Texas, finished second in the championship finals at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo (FWSSR). Once again Smith finished second, behind repeat champion Hailey Kinsel Lockwood on Saturday, Feb. 8. Smith earned $12,000 in the new FWSSR ProRodeo Tournament format for her runner-up finish, then found out she would leave the 124th FWSSR with a $5,000 bonus. The annual Jerry Ann Taylor Best-Dressed Cowgirl Award is a $5,000 cash award given to a barrel racer during the Championship Finals at Fort Worth. The award is also given to a barrel racer at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR). Taylor, a 1986 National Cowgirl Hall of Fame honoree, was a flamboyant trick rider and roper who was known for her sense of style. Smith wore turquoise and pink, with plenty of shimmer for her run. Her outfit was made by Natasha Roberts, who works with Smith’s mom, and Roberts’ mother. “There’s a lot of welldressed women who have won this award before me,” Smith said, adding that the Fort Worth rodeo is special to her. “It’s one of my favorites. Last year it was my first win at a big winter rodeo,” she said. “I love Fort Worth, San Antonio and San Angelo.” The Texas A & M graduate was the 2018 Women’s Professional Rodeo Association Rookie of the Year. Last year she finished 19th after her palomino mare Lena on the Rocks was injured at the Calgary Stampede. This year she was ranked third before her Fort Worth earnings were tabulated and is aiming for her first NFR. The bonus money will help keep her on the road and chasing that dream. Pam Minick of Fort Worth, a National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame board member and honoree and former WPRA vice president, said the award is to encourage women in professional rodeo to carry on

the tradition of wearing colorful western attire in the rodeo arena. Barrel racing has a long history at the FWSSR. The Fort Worth rodeo began holding an invitational ranch girls barrel race in 1955, not long after barrel racing competition started. Aspen Miller Is One Texas Cowgirl Making Her Mark In Rodeo. By Krista Lucas There are many young ladies making a name for themselves in the breakaway roping. As the sport continues to grow, names like Madison Outhier,

Aspen Miller is rising through the ranks of the United Professional Rodeo Association and Cowboy’s Professional Rodeo Association. Affectionately known as Spin by family and friends,

the 11th grade. “I got involved in rodeo young because both of my parents rodeoed growing up, and I was just raised around it. My parents met at a youth rodeo when they were 15,” Miller said.

has been involved in rodeo in one way or another, including a rough stock association called the National Professional Bull Riders. “My grandparents, Keith and Julie Miller, put on bull ridings throughout the year. When I was younger, the NPBR was a big part of my life. My dad would pick up, and my mom would secretary,” Miller said. “The whole family would help put it on, and that was pretty much considered our ‘family functions.’ Now that I am older and traveling all the time, my parents stopped working the bull ridings so we don’t get to go to them anymore. Both my dad’s parents and my mom’s parents come to my rodeos and support me any chance they get.” Miller has experienced success on some of the biggest stages of roping. She recently competed at Mike Johnson’s roping in Las Vegas, the CPRA finals, Joe Beaver’s Jr. Superstars Roping, and the Elite 40 event. Her experience at each roping was something to remember. “Mike Johnson and his wife, Sherrylynn, made sure to put on a great roping and worked hard getting lots of sponsors which gave us the opportunity to rope for a large amount of money. I was fortunate enough to qualify in four events,” she said. “I roped and goat tied to earn over $18,500, an Alamo saddle, a buckle, a championship ring, a 5Star saddle pad, and lots of other

Last year, Joe added a new parent daughter breakaway that was a blast.” Another roping Miller has added to her list is the Elite 40 Invitational held in Giddings, Texas. “The Elite 40 Invitational was a cool experience because there aren’t many youth tournament style breakaway ropings.” Miller also roped at the CPRA finals, and although the weekend did not go quite as good as she had hoped, she battled through and finished strong. “I didn’t start the finals strong so in the third round I knew I just needed to

instead of dwelling over it. It is tough for me, but coming back strong is a good feeling.” Miller looks up to women like Guy, Hampton and Thompson and is honored to be able to rope right along side her idols. She is well on her way to becoming a well-known name in the breakaway roping herself. “It’s a very exciting time for breakaway, and I’m looking forward to the future because I think it’s just getting bigger and better. I appreciate all the strong women in rodeo before me that have led the way, and I hope to contribute as well.”

rope fast and ended up third in the round,” she said. “It was an awesome experience to rope against some of the top women in breakaway.” The ups and downs in breakaway roping are similar to that of any sport, and Miller knows it all comes with the territory. She has worked hard at perfecting her mental game so she can perform in high-pressure situations. “Something I’ve had to overcome over the years is my mental game. I would struggle by over thinking and not doing what I would practice,” Miller said. “It was tough practicing everyday and getting to a rodeo and it being my mental game holding me back and throwing me off when I’ve worked hard and know I’m capable of doing it. I would have to tell myself what to do and not think or worry about what not to do.” Something everyone can relate to is conquering the mind in order to have success.

THINGS TO KNOW... TEAM ROPING Team Roping is pick one draw 2 or draw all 3. Total of 3 one head rodeo runs. It is computer drawn. Teams must be confirmed on the Saturday of the rodeo by 1:30pm to the rodeo secretary, NO EXCEPTIONS. Team roping will not start before 4:00pm on Saturday, and will follow immediately after the ladies barrels on Sunday, which begins at 9:00am. 40+ lady team ropers may also compete in the 60+ age group. Courtesy Runs ‐ For courtesy runs, Courtesy Roper (if placing in the money) will receive half the winnings and the other half of the winnings goes into the added money in that age group at the Finals ‐ NO OPTION.

BARRELS 70s barrels age group has been added. Barrels now consist of 40s, 50s, 60s & 70s TSPRA barrels use a 4‐D format for entry and pay‐out, however TSPRA points will be kept by age group for 40s, 50s, 60s & 70s. Drag will occur after every five numbers as shown on program/secretary books. Barrel racers may enter up to 3 horses. Designation of point and non‐point horse(s) is no longer required when entering. Point horse is identified by rider name only. Non‐point horse(s) will be identified by rider name (NPH). All runs will be eligible for jackpot money. Draw is computer random draw for all horses.

Changes and Addi�ons ‐ 2020 Rodeo Season Change: The Stand United Series will become the “Texas Panhandle Se‐ ries”. The 2020 season will feature the Texas Panhandle Series Finals at Lubbock, Texas November 13, 14, 15, 2020. Points will count from the Texas Panhandle Series to the 2021 UPRA Cinch Standings. Change: Single performance rodeos must have 150 paid entries, (compe�ng paid entries) for rodeo to count toward contractor’s nals rodeo qualica�on. Two or more performance rodeos must have 100 paid entries, (compe�ng paid entries) for the rodeo to count toward the stock contractor’s nals rodeo qualica�on. Change: Stock charge: $20 for Bareback, Saddle Bronc, Bull Riding, Ranch Bronc, Tie Down, Breakaway, and Steer Wrestling. Barrel racing $20 for events that drag a�er 5 names called $15 for rodeos that drag a�er 10 names called. $25 per team in the Team Roping Change: All money won including day monies and bonus monies will count toward official standings. Add: Contestant must enter through the official UPRA entry system, entries added a�er the official trade deadline will not be awarded event points. Change: Steer Wrestling, Tie Down, Breakaway and Barrel Racing: Fees (Under $500 Added $80=Min ‐ $100 Max), (Over $500/Under $1,000=$80Min‐$150Max), (Over $1,000 Added=$80Min ‐ $180Max). Team Rop‐ ing Fees (Under $1,000 Added = $120Min ‐ $150Max), (Over $1,000 Added=$150Min‐$200Max). Rough Stock entry fees to be set by rodeo commi�ee and/or stock contractor. (*Commi�ees may request special ground rule fees for their event, in event special ground rules are granted, said rules MUST be posted in the rodeo lis�ng). Change: Membership Requirements and/or Privileges: Ladies Barrel Racing & ladies Breakaway Roping events are exclusively limited to women only, as demonstrated by a valid birth cer�cate. If there is a ques�on at any �me, the UPRA reserves the right to request a copy at any �me for a birth cer�cate from any member, anyone reques�ng to join the UPRA or anyone wan�ng to enter a UPRA sanc�oned event. Add: Contestant accepts arena condi�ons when he/she nods head or comes running. Change: UPRA Personnel of the Year: Announcer, Secretary, Timer, Pickup Man, Bull Fighter, Judge, Con‐ tract Act/Barrel Man will be voted on by top 20 contestants in each event standings 90 days or there about prior to UPRA nals. (At discre�on of board of directors). Winners will be announced as “UPRA Personnel of the Year”. UPRA Board of Directors will hire Announcer/Announcers for nals rodeo, the Board of Direc‐ tors may use Vo�ng Personnel List and/or hire all other nals personnel selec�ons. The UPRA Board of Di‐ rectors has sole responsibility for working personnel at nals rodeo. Add: A rodeo where a Heeler Barrier is used, there must be a line judge for the heeler side. A total of 3 judges must be hired for said rodeo. Add: Ca�le used for Team Roping must be numbered clearly with a re brand unless approved by director. The brand must be on the right side and clear to read with a re brand in order to receive a stock charge for that rodeo. Add: A $5.00 fee will be added to contestant fees. The fee to be used to pay all or a por�on of contestant nals fees each year. Add: The UPRA Board of Directors will appoint one person to oversee entries. Any and all entry issues will be handled by the controller of entries.

Meet Your Directors My name is Katherine Allen and I serve as the Vice President for the CPRA. I was elected into the position after being nominated for and serving as the Barrel Racing director for four years. My passion has always been barrel racing and rodeo has always held the bigger draw for me. I am passionate about the sport and the culture as a whole so I very much enjoy participating on the board. I feel like the CPRA is a great Texas staple in the sport of rodeo and to be part of a group that focuses on its betterment is very rewarding. My husband Malcom and I actually met at a CPRA rodeo ten years ago, he is a saddle bronc rider and soon to be father as we are very blessed to be expecting a baby girl in June. We look forward to participating in the 2021 rodeo season together, as a family.

ROOKIE APPLICANTS

If you are applying for rookie status you must complete and sign the 2019 rookie application in addition to the standard membership application. If you were a CPRA 2018 rookie and did not win $1,500 or more, and did not win a 2018 rookie championship, then you are still eligible for a 2nd year. However, you still must sign the same forms as those first year applicants. If you’ve recently renewed your membership and did not complete the rookie application, you have 30 days from the date of your membership for the form to be received in the CPRA office.

MINOR RELEASES

If you are a minor (under the age of 18) you have 21 days from membership date to have the notarized minors release in the office or your entries will be stopped until the release is received. All minor members are required to have a minor release on file in the office, (one per year). CPRA reserves the right to ask for any additional paperwork/information if the board requests, contestant must provide in a timely manner. “True Grit”

From Pastor Randy Weaver If we surrender our lives over to God, He will give us His strength and we have nothing to fear from this world. Fear has prevented many Christians from experiencing the peace and happiness that Jesus is defining in the beatitudes. Fear of death, fear of failure, fear of God, fear of tomorrow – and the list goes on and on. Fear’s goal is to create a cowardly, joyless soul. John 16:33 says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” We as believers too often forget that everything we face in this world is subject to God. If we live our lives for God, and surrender control of everything, then what do we have to fear? God has given us the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and the church body, but if our heart isn’t into living a life of faith then we will be struck with fear and we will never reach our God given potential. The power of this world is futile and insecure. Worldly power always has the threat of being overpowered by someone, or something bigger and more powerful. God is all powerful; nothing in all creation is close to His power because He created it. 2 Peter 1:3-11: “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins. Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your

calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” Meekness does not mean weakness. Meekness is the opposite of violence and vengeance. Many times, we take things out of God ‘s hands when He wants to take control of a situation. Who would you rather fight your battles? You in your human strength, or God in His all-powerful, all-knowing strength? Meekness is not cowardice or lack of conviction. But its courage, its strength, its conviction, and its pleasantness come from God, not from self. The spirit of meekness is the spirit of Christ, who defended the glory of His Father, but gave Himself in sacrifice for others. Leaving an example for us to follow, He “committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously” (1 Pet.2:21-23). Because He was sinless, therefore He never deserved criticism or abuse, Jesus did not resist slander or repay injustice or threaten His tormentors. The only human being who did no wrong, the One who always had a perfect defense, never defended Himself. Meekness is power completely surrendered to God’s control. Matthew 5 is not a list of proverbs or a compilation of independent sayings, but rather a stepby-step description of how God rebuilds the believer’s heart. The first step is to ask for help: to become “poor in spirit” and admit our need for a Savoir. The next step is sorrow: “Blessed are those who mourn…” Those who mourn are those who know they are wrong and say they are sorry. No excuses. No justification. Just tears. The next step is one of renewal: “Blessed are the meek…” Realization of weakness leads to the

source of strength – God. No longer shall the earth and its fears dominate us, for we follow the one who dominates the earth. Meekness is necessary to enter the kingdom of heaven because only meekness gives glory to God. Pride seeks its own glory, but meekness seeks God and His glory. Answer the big question of eternity, and the little questions of life fall into perspective. How do we keep from being deceived and frightened by Satan? James 4:7: “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. The first and most important step for us is to “submit ourselves to God.” No one can resist the devil’s deception, or face up to his scare tactics in their worldly human power. Only the Christian who is full of the

Word of God, under the power of the Holy Spirit, fully submitted to God can stand against the wiles of the devil. In The Spotlight With Sunny B’ Hey Cowboys & Cowgirls! Happy Valentines Day! This month I am not interviewing anyone but instead going to post results from our 4th Annual Seth Broesche Memorial. Can we say amazed? The turnout was above and beyond!!! Our entire family wants to take this time to thank everyone who came out and supported our cause to raise money for young men and women to further their education. This is what it is all about! We have an amazing crew to help us put this thing together. First and foremost to Jesus Christ Our Lord & Savior for giving our family the strength to face another day. My husband & daughter are my rocks! Our crew who works the arena to make sure things go smoothly and we put on a great event. Our announcers and timekeepers, guys who open gates & push cattle, the flagmen, arena directors, secretaries, judges. It takes a village and we have one of the best! Shout out to Russell Blandford for a great set of calves & The Atkinson family and Hill Cattle Company for steers and ranch rodeo cattle. Philipp Ranch once again did a great job with the Team Roping. My media crew is amazing! Meagan Elyse Mcelya & Brandon McDow of Bar Mc Media, LLC, R&M Photography, Samantha Kaye Photography, Cody Keilers of CK Photography without these guys we could not make memories! They capture it all. The Brazos County Expo for a great facility & customer service. The Stella Hotel for so graciously blocking some of their top of the line rooms for our people and great discounts. My auction ladies did an out of sight job on auction. I have to say Phillip Woolls & Tony Reina “milked” the crowd for every dime they could! These guys were amazing!!! Without our sponsors we could not put this event on!

San Antonio Crowns PRCA Champions When the San Antonio Rodeo started on Feb. 6, contestants were hoping that on Feb. 22 they would get to ride around the arena in the back of a pickup as the newly-crowned champion. On Saturday night, that became a reality for eight of them that came from across the nation to compete in the AT&T Center. Each of the champions got their titles

based on earnings here and those earnings topped $20,000 in each of the standard rodeo events. A year ago, the San Antonio Rodeo used a draft system to let the bareback, saddle bronc and bull riders pick the animals they would ride in the Championship Finals rather than the standard random draw. That system was in place again and it worked very

well for Mason Clements of Draper, Utah. Clements was the second bareback rider to pick a horse from the list and he knew exactly which horse he wanted. He chose Frontier Rodeo’s Gunfire, a horse that fellow Utah bareback rider Caleb Bennett set an arena record on in Cody, Wyoming last summer. Bennett was 93.5 points on Gunfire then, so Clements knew he could be a lot of points on the buckskin gelding here. Clements finished at the top of the leaderboard by two points with a 91. He was two points ahead of Mandan, North Dakota’s Ty Breuer and

Zwingle, Iowa’s Tim O’Connell who each scored 89. Clements earned $15,000 for the effort and the San Antonio Rodeo championship with $24,750. Prior to San Antonio’s rodeo, he was in the top 15 in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. The money he won here will give him a big boost in the standings. A year ago, he didn’t get to compete here after having knee surgery. His season got a late start and he finished 16th in the world standings missing qualifying for his third Wrangler National Finals Rodeo by one spot. He is determined to be there next December and if he continues to ride like he did here, there could very well be a world championship in his future. Tie-down roper Shad Mayfield competed in the AT&T Center for the second time in his young career this year. Mayfield was in high school while competing here a year ago. This year is sole focus is on roping and that showed with a big win. He had the fastest time of the rodeo at 6.9 seconds. Mayfield from Clovis, N.M., added $24,500 to his earnings and is making his way to his second NFR next December. Tyler Waguespack, from Gonzales, La., won the steer wrestling here a year ago and with a 3.8-second run got the title again this year. He had total earnings of $23,250. There was a tie at the top of the leaderboard in the team roping. Dustin Egusquiza from Marianna, Florida and Travis Graves, from Jay, Oklahoma as well as Matt Sherwood, from Pima, Arizona and Trey Yates from Pueblo, Colorado each had 4.0 second runs. Their Saturday night efforts were worth $13,500, however, Egusquiza and Graves had the highest total earnings at $24,000 for the coveted San Antonio Rodeo championship buckles. Brody Cress, of Hillsdale, Wyo., used a last chance opportunity at the Wildcard Round on Friday night to advance to the finals. He chose the Cervi Championship Rodeo horse named Womanizer and the match up was outstanding. Cress, who is working on his master’s degree at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, got a 90.5-on the ride, earned $15,000 and got the championship with total

earnings of $24,750. Two Texans had the fast time in barrel racing on Saturday night. Brittany Pozzi-Tonozzi from Lampasas, and Jill Wilson from Snyder both stopped the clock in 14.02 seconds. While they each won $13,500, Tonozzi got the win with total money of $23,500. Her earnings surpassed Wilson’s by a mere $250. There were three bull riders that made it to eight seconds. Denton Fugate, from Niangua, Missouri had the high score of 90 points on Andrews Rodeo’s bull Make My Day. Trevor Kastner, from Roff, Oklahoma, had an 88 and Dustin Boquet of Bourg, Louisiana had an 85. Fugate’s Saturday night ride saw him collecting $16,500 and gave him total earnings of $23,000. Plans are underway for the 2021 San Antonio Stock Show Rodeo which will once again feature the best that pro rodeo has to offer. The following are unofficial results.
