On that day they will say to Jerusalem, “Do not fear, Zion; do not let your hands hang limp. The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” “I will remove from you all who mourn over the loss of your appointed festivals, which is a burden and reproach for you. At that time, I will deal with all who oppressed you. I will rescue the lame; I will gather the exiles. I will give them praise and honor in every land where they have suffered shame. I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your very eyes,” says the Lord.” Every team in professional sports has a group of devoted followers you might call hopeful fans. Without them the team couldn’t survive. These aren’t rabid fans who constantly vacillate between intense hatred and delight during each game, or fickle fans who cheer enthusiastically during winning streaks but lose interest when the team loses games. These fans remain true no matter what. They’re happy when their team wins, certainly, but still wear their colors proudly when they lose. For them there’s always next year. Israel possessed an unparalleled record of losing seasons. Nations and dynasties flourished and vanished

while God’s people experienced more losers than winners. The nation’s continued existence was in itself a miracle. A casual observer might wonder why God didn’t get tired of losing. He could have sold off the team long before. Yet God never gave up His franchise. The people of Israel were His chosen people. He knew they’d eventually win. With God next year is always a certainty. This message came to Israel through Zephaniah when storm clouds of devastation and defeat darkened the nation’s horizon. While he had earlier joined the chorus of prophets who were predicting Israel’s suffering, Zephaniah also added words of hope. The reign of King Josiah included a season of righteousness in Judah delaying God’s judgment. The nation showed all the signs of a “rebuilding team.” The people changed their old habits and eliminated evil practices. Unfortunately, Josiah’s reforms didn’t last long. Losing ways ran deep within the nation. Yet hope became the refuge of a small group determined to remain faithful. God’s hopeful fans stood fast. They realized that “next year” might not happen for a long time, but it would eventually come. God had promised. The same

God who kept His word to Israel keeps His promises to you. You can count on it. So, live as a hopeful fan. Big Al’s View Of The World

For those of you that don’t keep up with the life of ol’ Big Al’, I’ll catch you up to speed real fast. Last month I put gas in my diesel truck. It cost me a little bit of money and a whole lot of humility but I left out the best part in last month’s article. After they had to tow my truck to the shop to get the tank drained I had to borrow my wife’s car to get around during the day. She has an office job and doesn’t need wheels during the day. I came back to town and took her to lunch then I came back to town at 5pm to pick her up from work. Well on this return trip to town as if my day hadn’t gone according to plan already I was just driving along our local farm road just minding my own business and all of a sudden here comes this rock flying at me hitting the windshield right at the bottom. It was below the black film they have on the edges of the windows so I didn’t think there was any need in reporting the damage to the owner (my wife). Playing dumb is one of my better qualities when it comes to marital decisions and crossroads. My plan was working all the way to town and most of the way home but the closer we got to the house the further north this crack was creeping. When it peeked out from the black film at the bottom I figured I had better come clean with my deed. Let’s just say I was

forced to take her for marg’s at the local Mexican joint. After the day I’d had I was needing one just as bad as she was. Fast forward a month later and that little crack is almost all the way across the windshield both directions. I can’t even ride in the car with her as each time we get in she reminds me that the crack is mine and I need to call the insurance company to get it fixed because she is not going to drive a car with a windshield like that. Instead of taking any more heat over a broken window I decided to leave town. Yep, that’s right, ol’ Big Al’ finally took Charlie Robison’s advise and headed for the new pipeline and he weren’t ever coming back. He’s working 80 hours a week and Rocksprings is too damn hot. He’s gonna head back home at the end of the job and spend it all on . . . a broken car window!!!!! Yeah, I know, that’s not how the song goes but I’ve got a few more pressing problems than ol’ Charlie and his buddy had when they left LaGrange that summer. Momma needs a new pair of shoes and the kid needs a new truck which leads me to my next story. You know that big long bridge just west of Del Rio on highway 90? The one that is long and narrow. Well, my truck barely made it over it the other day. My fuel pump was messing up and my truck started losing power

halfway across the bridge. We basically coasted the last 200 yards to the where we could get off of the shoulder. We had a load of calves coming back from the ranch and our truck picked the wrong day and the wrong spot to lay down and die. We had had the same problem in Austin a few weeks earlier. We barely made it off of the interstate going 20mph. We thought we had fixed it, but nope, we didn’t. We limped into Del Rio at 8 in the morning on a Sunday. I wanted Whataburger but Rudy’s had breakfast tacos and they were closer with a truck that wouldn’t go but 15-20mph at tops. We made it into Rudy’s and got something to eat. Then we had to wait two hours for help to arrive from the West. We made it home and the truck is finally fixed or at least we think it is. I’m not really looking forward to test driving it to Dryden, Texas again with a load of calves. I am literally putting this issue of the magazine together from the front seat of my truck while I’m doing inspector work on a pipeline in the middle of a ranch west of Rocksprings. Modern technology at its best. I had to go buy me some steel toe boots so I’m using the box they came in as my desk/briefcase. Hey, it works!!! I took this job because I figured it would help me on my resume if I ever wanted to apply for that job watching paint dry. This has got to be one of the most boring jobs there is. It’s amazing how much money they will pay a person to sit in a truck and watch another man work. This is not my live’s passion. It is just a good paying gig that wasn’t supposed to last very long so I said why the hell not. I’m living at my sister-in-laws house in Leakey on the river. Other than the alarm at 4:30am, life is good on the Frio. High tech, Big Al’

The Wright Way

THSRA Champion & UPRA Cowboy Jack Wright By Krista Lucas There is a new group of saddle bronc riders on the horizon, and Wright is a common last name seen in the sport. While the wellknown Wright family of Utah is currently seen scattered throughout the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association world standings, there is another young up and comer who shares the name. Jack Wright, of DeRidder, LA, may not be related to the likes of Utah’s Wrights, but he is one to keep an eye out for and rides just as good. The young cowboy is the newly crowned Texas High School Rodeo Association state champion saddle bronc rider and is also ranked 11th in the United Professional Rodeo Association standings. He grew up around

rodeo and inherited his love of the sport from his parents and grandparents. “My sister and brother also compete, but I’m the only rough stock rider,” Wright said. “I guess my earliest memory is traveling to rodeos with my mom and dad.” His dad rode

and went to work for the Gray Ranch in south Louisiana. “All of us kids started riding as soon as we could hold on. There was a little weekly youth rodeo about five minutes from our house so that is where we all started competing. I started sheep

He broke his last colt at 68 years old and retired from the Bell Ranch,” Wright said. “My grandpa broke colts, and my dad broke colts. I’m not too good at breaking one, but I sure like it when they buck.” Many people may not understand why someone would choose one of the more dangerous rodeo events and willingly get on a bucking horse, but for Wright, being a saddle bronc rider is what he has always loved about the sport of rodeo. “I’ve been told it’s the hardest roughs tock event to learn because there are so many components like your rein, saddle, and balance, but when it finally comes together it’s the best feeling in the world.” He carried on his family’s winning tradition at the 2019 THSRA state finals. He won the saddle bronc riding championship, which qualified him for the national high school finals, a goal he has had for a long time. “My dad had won the same title 37 years ago, and I won it on my mom’s birthday so it was a very emotional experience,” Wright said. “My national finals didn’t go very well. I got on some awesome horses and had a great experience, but it just wasn’t my time, and I’m ok with that. Things like that just prove that there is never a day when you can quit

“Most of these guys have been behind me from the beginning, and I’ve picked up a couple new sponsors, but every one of them has taken care of me. I’m very loyal, if they don’t make it, I don’t wear it,” Wright said. “I ride for myself but also for them. When they put their name on my shirt, my vest or chaps, I am representing them and what they stand for.” Saddle bronc riding is filled with young, new talent, and this Louisiana cowboy may only be 18 years old, but he is one to watch for. There may just be another Wright in the professional ranks before long.

Wright is appreciative of the stock contractors and their crews for providing good horses and said he has had several favorite horses over the years. “One of the best I’ve ever been on was 6 + 12, Bitter Robin of Bar T’s. I got on her in Salt Lake City at a WCRA event, and it was the best feeling. She did her job that day, and I did mine.” It is safe to say Wright has his sights set on rodeoing for a living, but first comes obtaining a college degree. Wright will be a college freshman at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in the fall and is excited to add college rodeos to his already busy schedule. “My dad rode broncs for SWOSU also and won the national title for them so that would be cool to repeat. I am also sitting first in the Louisi-

SALT LAKE CITY --- The World Champions Rodeo Alliance (WCRA) concluded their third $1,000,000 major paying out more than $1,125,000 to rodeo athletes during the Days of ’47 Cowboy Games and Rodeo (DO47). A total of 288

athletes competed in the fiveday performance in Salt Lake City with 90 athletes battling it out in the gold medal championship round on Wednesday night in front of a sold-out crowd. With the conclusion of the DO47, WCRA and their partners have paid out more than $5,578,890 to athletes since May 2018. For the third straight year, barrel racer Hailey Kinsel (Cotulla, TX) earned a gold medal in Salt Lake City when she notched a 16.79 time to beat Maggie Poloncic’s (Gillette, WY) 16.83 second place run and Titletown Stampede’s Champion Michelle Darling’s (Medford, OK) third place time of 16.86. Kinsel made it a $50,000 payday. Matt Reeves (Cross Plains, TX) took the gold medal and $50,000 in steer wrestling after topping Dakota Eldridge (Elko, NV) after a 3.92 second time. With a 4.2 second run, Eldridge walked away with $12,000 and a silver medal. Gatesville, Texas native Jordi Edens made history when she became the first breakaway roper in DO47 history to win a gold medal and $50,000 when she conquered Jackie Crawford (Stephenville, TX) and ten other contestants with a 2.58 second time. Canada’s Zeke Thurston (Big Valley, AB) received 89.0 points and $50,000 in the finals round during saddle bronc riding just shy of Cort Sheer’s (Elsmere, NE) 88.0 points. Ty Harris (San Angelo, TX) was crowned DO47 tiedown roping champion when he bested with a 7.60 second time. Oklahoma Cowboy Trevor Kastner (Roff, OK) scored an 87.25 to secure the number one spot and $59,000. Boudreaux Campbell (Crockett, TX) notched a 83.25 point score, good for the second place spot. After no qualified rides, Keyshawn Whitehorse (McCracken Springs, UT) earned the silver medal due to the tie being broken by his 90.75 point score from Saturday night during the semi-finals round.

In The Spotlight With Sunny B’ Fall is rapidly approaching! Great fairs & rodeos are in the air! This always brings out the best of the best all looking to win whatever it takes to earn a spot into the finals. I had the honor of timing the Cedar Park rodeo this past weekend. A big shout out to Cedar Park HEB Center. What a great facility! The fans were awesome! Packed House again! As I was posting the draw one of our top saddle bronc riders happened to come over and say hello. I said I had been waiting for the opportunity to visit with him for some time so I sat down with Craig Moore and asked him all about his life as a cowboy, ranch foreman and stunt man/actor. Sunny: Hey Craig, how long have you been rodeoing? Craig: 11 years total. Sunny: Really? I figured you had

4 times. Sunny: Craig are you married? Craig: Yes ma’am I have a great wife and 2 precious boys. My wife Jenna also trains and rides barrel horses. She has also made the CPRA finals previously. My boys are Mark 10 and Huckleberry 3.

Craig: It’s called a Screen Actors Guild. That means you have met the criteria in any of the following categories. Principal Actor, Background Actor or a 1 year member to act. Hollywood Directors require you to have this if you have a role or if you are doing a stunt in a movie. Sunny Wow! That is pretty cool! Can you tell me some of the movies you have been in?

Sunny Do you have a fulltime job as well? Craig: Yes I am a ranch foreman on a place in Kingsland and I absolutely love that. Sunny I have heard you have been in movies? Why would you have to have a real job? Craig: LOL! Well I do like the stability for my family and I love Ranching.

Sunny What other event have you competed in or may turn to when it is Craig: I love team roping. I do a little of that as well. I am not great but I enjoy it and now with all the roping’s out there available once again to guys not burning the highway up a man can go and have some fun at his own level.

Craig: My biggest role was doubling Pierce Bronson in The Son. But the largest production I have been in was The Walking Dead. The latest show I was in was called Long Road Home. That is the one that caused me to lose all my long hair. They shaved my head! It was a great part I was able to play a military role in Iraq. Very humbling. I have also been in several Dodge Commercials.

Craig: IN 2013 they were filming a movie called Deliverance Creek in the area and Johnny Hoyle called some of us rough stock guys and said they needed some riders. I went and the very same year I got my SAG card. Sunny What is a Sag card and why would you need that?

Maybe if they would go to someone and tell them I want to learn the correct way and the fundamentals needed to ride a bronc or a bull then they may stay more focused on the event. I am not sure maybe we need to have more clinics or more information available to them to draw them in. I also feel like with WCRA coming to life will give guys like us who do not go down the road a chance at some big money. I think the opportunities are out there and are coming up.

Sunny That is so neat. Let’s talk about future goals. You are 39 years old. How long do you plan to ride saddle bronc horses? Craig: I will keep on riding till I am no longer able to win or be competitive. SunnyWhat do you see for the future of roughstock at the amateur level? Craig: I feel like the younger generation coming up that have not been raised in the rodeo or ranching world don’t really have the passion or the inspiration or even the tools they need to learn

Sunny: What do you consider downtime and what do you like to do if that time comes around? Craig: Any time I get with my boys I love it. Also being able to just ride colts with my wife and share anytime with my family is my fun time and down time. Sunny What are you goals for the future when the time comes to retire from bronc riding? Craig: As long as I can be competitive I am still after the title that eludes me, CPRA/UPRA Saddle Bronc riding Champion! After that I will ranch, ride colts with my wife and help my 2 boys in whatever they want to do. I just want to be healthy and raise my boys to be good citizens. WORLD CHAMPIONS RODEO ALLIANCE ANNOUNCES FRONT OFFICE STAFF UPDATES Today, The World Champions Rodeo Alliance (WCRA) named Casey Duggan WCRA Director of Rodeo Operations and Administration while Dale Davis was named point person in the sales and service department. The two staff additions will be joined by Rob Smets, who will take lead in the alliance relations realm. “We are thrilled about the group we’ve assembled,” said WCRA President Bobby Mote. “Each of these additions bring a unique set of skills and experiences that will not only greatly impact the success of our staff, but also our athletes as we look to continue developing further opportunities for rodeo industry competitors, stakeholders and fans.” Casey Duggan joins the WCRA as director of rodeo operations and administration after a long rich history in the western sports industry. Duggan most recently has spent the last eight and a half years with Professional Bull Riders (PBR), where he served as director of special events. Prior to his stint with PBR, Duggan was general manager for Bad Company Rodeo where he produced high-quality professional rodeos and bull riding events throughout Texas, Kansas, and New Mexico. Duggan’s resume also includes a six year stretch with US Smokeless Tobacco, acting as metro market supervisor. The Texas natives career comes full circle, after starting his western sports career with the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) where he had a wide variety of tasks from entering athletes in rodeos across the nation to processing stock draws. After 30 years in the rodeo arena, five-time world champion bullfighter, Rob Smets joins the WCRA Staff

ROOKIE APPLICANTS

If you are applying for rookie status you must complete and sign the 2019 rookie application in addition to the standard membership application. If you were a CPRA 2018 rookie and did not win $1,500 or more, and did not win a 2018 rookie championship, then you are still eligible for a 2nd year. However, you still must sign the same forms as those first year applicants. If you’ve recently renewed your membership and did not complete the rookie application, you have 30 days from the date of your membership for the form to be received in the CPRA office.

MINOR RELEASES

If you are a minor (under the age of 18) you have 21 days from membership date to have the notarized minors release in the office or your entries will be stopped until the release is received. All minor members are required to have a minor release on file in the office, (one per year). CPRA reserves the right to ask for any additional paperwork/information if the board requests, contestant must provide in a timely manner. Breaking It Down With Speed Williams Let’s Rope Faster Recently I taught a school in Quincy, Washington and the goal for some of the students was to rope faster. As we watched the video, I explained there are many steps involved to roping faster. Many people want to be able to swing their rope faster and be able to rope faster… but if you cannot ride your horse across the line correctly it’s extremely difficult. It really comes down to how you score your horse. You want your horse to leave off your bridle reins when you drop your hand. Many people “kick start” their horse meaning they score on a loose rein and have to kick to move forward. Your bridle reins need to be your gas pedal. When you kick start your horse, the next thing that happens is when he leaves, you’re off balance and have to squeeze to hold on. Then you pull on the reins to get your upper body forward. In doing that, you slow your horse down or teach him

to run through the bridle. These are common problems people have trying to rope behind the World Series barrier. This one move is why I think they’ve moved my daughter, Hali, to a #6. She does score and ride across the line very well. She doesn’t and cannot reach right now, but we are working on it. It puts her at a disadvantage behind a regular barrier. In that case she is not competitive as a #6 header. When you’re able to ride across the line correctly, and swing correctly, it enables you to be able to rope fast. I wish this was a simple thing for people to learn, but it’s complicated and if you miss one step, then you have to take another swing to overcome, then another swing to be ready to rope. I’ve had students who were taught they need to sit in the saddle coming across the line. I disagree with that because if you try and sit in your saddle coming across the line, you’re going to get

your butt beat and bounced out of the saddle. Then you’ll have to pull on the reins for balance.

horse responds when you’re not pulling on your reins all the time for balance.

Learning to use your legs and ride your stirrups is not easy. But using your legs has big benefits and can help you rope. When my kids do their drills on the Speed Trainer, they have their butt out of the saddle, one leg kicking, one leg isolated and not squeezing on the horse, and swinging their rope fast. It has allowed me to teach them how to ride their horses much faster.

When watching video of yourself roping, the question is what can you eliminate to be faster. That’s how I figured out the things I did heading. I tried to eliminate wasted steps. I developed the Speed Trainer to eliminate wasted steps while teaching my kids and my students how to ride better and rope faster.

It sounds like an acrobatic feat, but we’re expected to do that when we’re roping. At no time can you practice this when roping the dummy on the ground. When roping the dummy on the ground, you move your feet to a position where you know you can catch. Then you’re never accountable for what your left hand does, and what your feet and upper body do to create momentum. That’s where you have to learn to improve your riding to have a chance to improve your roping – because they work hand in hand. It’s amazing how much better your

The Daddy of ‘Em All Cheyenne Crowns Champions History was made on Championship Sunday of the 123rd Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo (CFD.) While this year’s rodeo debuted a tournament-style competition format, some familiar faces rode into the winner’s circle. Local favorite Brody Cress became the first saddle bronc rider to win three consecutive CFD championships when he rode Stace Smith Pro Rodeo’s bucking horse Resistol’s Top Hat for 87.5 points. Saddle bronc began in Cheyenne in 1897 and only Earl Thode, who won four titles between 1927 and 1934, has more wins here than Cress. Hall of fame cowboy Turk Greenough won three in the 1930s and 13-time Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) cowboy Cody DeMoss has won three beginning in the 21st century. Cress, whose hometown is nearby Hillsdale, extended the traditional winner’s victory ride on horseback around the arena to three full laps – one for each of his titles. The cheers from the crowd grew louder with each trip. “Frank (Thompson-the CFD arena director) told me to make three laps,” Cress said with a smile. “I’ve been listening to Frank my whole life, so I wasn’t going to stop now.” The $12,585 Cress won in Frontier Park will help him on his quest for a third consecutive NFR qualification. He is currently ranked 28th and needs to be among the top 15 on September 30 to return to Las Vegas. The barrel racing had co-champions with Nellie Miller and Shali Lord. Miller of Cottonwood, California, became the first barrel racer since Kristie Peterson in 1998 to successfully defend her CFD championship. The 2017 world champion, who is currently ranked second in the 2019 standings, won $20,697 dollars in Frontier Park, making her the highest money winner of the rodeo. “This is such a traditional-filled rodeo,” Miller said. “It’s so special to win here. My horse loves big pens and she runs well here.” She rode the blue roan mare named Rafter W Minnie Reba (called Sister) that she raised and trained. They rounded the pattern in 17.22 seconds, an identical time to that set by Lord of Lamar, Colorado, seven runs earlier. Lord rode her horse Freckles Ta Fame, nicknamed

Can Man. Originally Miller was named the champion based on ground rules that gave the title to the person with the fastest time in earlier rounds of the rodeo. While those ground rules were in effect for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) events, the same rules were not official in the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) which sanctioned the barrel

racing at CFD. Lord was contacted with the news on Monday evening. She was told the winner’s package, including trophy saddle and buckle as well as other prizes, will be awarded to Lord as soon as they arrive from the makers. “That’s what you dream of,” Lord said after her run on Sunday. “It’s what you work your whole life for. It’s so prestigious.” The 19-year-old professional rodeo rookie sensation Stetson Wright of Milford, Utah, has begun carving out his own place in the CFD record books. Wright became the first rough stock cowboy

to win the all-around title at the Daddy of ‘em All since Chad Eubank in 2007 won money in bareback and bull riding. Wright qualified for Championship Sunday in both saddle bronc riding and bull riding. He thought his shot at the all-around title might have slipped away when he bucked off Stace Smith Pro Rodeo’s saddle bronc Utopia. But the money he had earned in the quarterfinals and semifinals in saddle bronc riding still counted toward the all-around. The defeat in the bronc riding made Wright more determined to do well in bull riding, his favorite event. When the day began,

he was second in the world championship standings, just about $16,000 behind five-time world champion bull rider Sage Kimzey. Parker McCown of Montgomery, Texas, set the bar high when he scored 90 points on Stace Smith Pro Rodeo’s bull Hacksaw Ridge. Wright was the next-to-last cowboy to compete and he came within a single point of the CFD bull riding record with 93 points on Dakota Rodeo’s bull Safety Meeting. That earned Wright both the bull riding and the all-around championship and his own place in the record books. Wright comes from a legendary bronc riding family.

He is the third-oldest son of twotime world champion Cody Wright; the brother of world champion Ryder and NFR bronc rider Rusty; the nephew of world champions Spencer and Jesse; and three other uncles have qualified for the NFR in bronc riding. “I’d have figured one of them would have won it before now,” he said. “What really means the most to me is to be the first member of my family to win a title here.” Wright, who turns 20 on Tuesday, won just over $16,000 in two events with more than $13,000 from bull riding. Former CFD champ Richmond Champion has just scored 89.5 points on Sankey Pro Rodeo’s Prairie Rose, so Biglow knew he needed 90 points or more to win the title and he delivered. He made a wild ride on Stace Smith Pro Rodeo’s bucking horse Witchy Woman and earned 91 points from the judges to win his first CFD title in four tries. 2019 has been Biglow’s best rodeo season thus far. He is ranked second in the world championship standings, about $27,000 behind four-time world champion Kaycee Field. The nearly $12,000

he earned in Frontier Park will help keep him within striking distance as the pro rodeo season begins its final two months. The Cheyenne crowd had a chance to cheer for more than one local winner. Steer roper Trey Sheets grew up in western Nebraska and has made Cheyenne his home for the past seven years. He had the second-fastest time of the finals, but the championship in this event was awarded in the traditional format of total time on three runs. His 45.6 seconds was the best by four seconds. In tie-down roping and steer wrestling, one of the first cowboys to compete in the finals set a pace that could not be beaten. Seth Hall of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was the second roper and his time of 10.5 seconds earned the championship. Hall has competed at CFD about eight times but had only made the finals once before-in 2012. “This is almost more than amazing,” Hall said of earning the championship in Frontier Park. Eli Lord was the first steer wrestler to ride out from CFD’s Chute 9 and he stopped the clock in 6.9 seconds. The next 15 competitors got no closer than two seconds to Lord’s time. He credits his hazer, Linn Churchill, a former CFD steer wrestling champion with helping him win the title. Lord is the third CFD champion that Churchill has assisted. Dustin Bird of Cut Bank, Montana, and Trey Yates of Pueblo, Colorado, are the 2019 team roping champions in Cheyenne. They won the final round in 7.8 seconds and each won just under $12,000. Bird is a former NFR qualifier, and Yates is the 2018 collegiate champion who roped at his first NFR last December. Their paychecks in Cheyenne will jump Yates into the top 20 in the heeling standings and put Bird in the top 30 in the heading. Frontier Days added women’s breakaway roping for the first time and drew 242 entries. When the tournament-style competition ended, seven of the 16 ropers in the championship round turned in times in the four-second range. Jordan Jo Fabrizio of Canyon, Texas, was the fastest of the seven – 4.18 seconds. She is the first breakaway roping in the CFD record book with winnings of more than $17,500. “All of the breakaway ropers took time to take a group photo in front of the grandstand before the finals today and it really hit me how historic this is,” she said. “This will be something I’ll never forget and always treasure.”
