FROM THE BOARD Opportunity to Serve on the Board of Directors Two positions on the Board of Directors (fouryear terms) will be up for election at our Annual Meeting in November 2026. We are particularly seeking a candidate to serve as Treasurer. Proprietary Regular members (or the spouse/domiciled significant other) in good standing, with at least two years of membership at the Club are eligible to serve. The deadline to submit a letter of interest is Monday, August 31. The Board of Directors’ primary responsibility is to focus on governance, financial oversight, and strategic planning. The Board sets the club's long-term vision and ensures that decisions align with the mission. The General Manager/COO and Management team are responsible for day-today operations of the Club. Desired Experience/Characteristics for Board Nominees:

∙ Corporate leadership in for-profit or nonprofit environments.

∙ Governance or Board experience. ∙ Success in developing and implementing strategic plans.

∙ Experience in business operations

and financial management, including the ability to read and understand financial statements such as an operating P&L and balance sheet.  Particularly important for Board candidates interested in serving as Treasurer.

ONE YEAR

GENERAL MANAGER REPORT It’s hard to believe I’ve finished my first year at Diablo. At times, I wasn’t sure I would make it, but I’m thankful to be here and proud of what we’ve accomplished. Eight months into the fiscal year, we are in a strong financial position, ahead of plan, and on track to finish at or above plan. This past weekend, we hosted our final swim meet of the season, and the team did a great job. These events are not easy to run, especially with shuttle service and parking a half mile away. The team handled the season well, stayed positive, and received many compliments. This week is Spirit Week for the Sharks, followed by VSA and County. Congratulations to our swim team on earning the VSA League Spirit Award for the second year in a row, an outstanding recognition of their sportsmanship and team spirit. Just like that, summer iscoming to an end. Sharkee’s, our new pool snack bar, has done much better than I expected. After two full months, sales are $55,000 compared with $35,000 last year. Being open seven days a week, along with the new pool turf, has greatly improved the member experience. Next year, I expect to renovate the pool restrooms before the season begins. We also plan to replace two of the four pool heaters this fall so the pool stays warm for lap swimmers in the winter. Food and Beverage continues to improve, and members have shared strong support and positive feedback on food quality and service. The Red Horse is about 3.7% ahead of last year, and the Pub is doing very well, with revenue up 24%. Chef Andy and his culinary team have improved the menu, presentations, and specials. Adrien and the Service Team have also focused on better service, menu knowledge, and point-of-service execution. We still

make occasional mistakes, but the experience is much better than it was a year ago. Jenna and the Events team have done a great job improving repeat Club events and adding new ones. They have also hosted more weddings and special events than in the past. We have a busy fall ahead, with more Monday golf tournaments and our end-of-season golf group invitationals. Please watch the event schedules closely, as these events affect operations. We will continue to share updates when plans change and let you know what to expect around the Club. Fitness programming has been very well supported, and we have had to watch class times and offerings to avoid overcrowding the Center. Michele has been energized by the support she and her team have received this year. Offering group classes at no extra charge has been very popular with members. Personal trainers have also stayed busy, which is a great sign of an active membership. We expect to make some layout changes to the gym to make the space safer and easier to move through. Adding turf to the patio has also created more space for classes and training. Next year, I expect we will cover that area so it can be used more throughout the year. Golf and tennis programming continue to grow compared with prior years. Junior participation has been outstanding in both golf and tennis camps, which also connect well with our Kids Club camps. The Kids Camp setting has improved greatly with the turf next to the Court House and better organization of camp activities. We have even been able to use the area for private member events.

Lastly, I want to address member conduct and encourage positive behavior while at the Club. Earlier this year, the Club updated its Code of Conduct, which all members agree to follow when they join. The Club also has Rules and Regulations that apply to members and their families while at the Club. Please take time to review these documents on the website. Over the past few months, I have addressed several rule violations. Some resulted in suspensions, while others led to written reprimands. Our staff is doing its best to manage and monitor these issues. We are also adding more surveillance cameras inside Club rooms to help with enforcement.

These are only examples of recent violations. Our Golf Marshaling staff has helped ensure that the golf course is used properly by those who should be there, and our pool registration system has added accountability for pool access. We are not yet where we need to be, but I hope you have noticed our efforts to manage the Club appropriately. I’m sorry to end on a difficult topic, but it is important to address. I appreciate you discussing these expectations with your families. You do not want to be that family.

HISTORY The World #3 ranked golfer today, right behind Scottie and Rory, is Cameron Young. Cam has established a reputation as an elite, understated talent. He is praised for his patience and being “all business” under pressure. He is also wellknown for his pronounced pause at the top of his backswing, before perfectly placing a tight draw in the middle of the fairway. That same description would fit my good friend, Ron Johnson, to a tee. Right now, Ron is smiling down from heaven and golf clapping every Cam Young triumph. We lost Ron too soon this past January after a brave fight against brain cancer. Ron is a Diablo treasure and those of us who knew him want to share his life and golfing legacy with today’s membership. A collection of personal items recognizing Ron and his golfing achievements will be displayed in the clubhouse’s history case in August and for the next few months. Ron’s languid swing, disciplined game and stoic personality were much like Cam Young’s. Ron was an elite talent. He played competitively beginning while in college in San Francisco in the mid-1960’s, occasionally squaring off against Bay Area amateur royalty such as Roger Maltbie and Johnny Miller. After marrying his high school sweetheart, Kathy, and compiling a long and successful career as a stockbroker, Ron became a top mid- and senior-amateur golfer. Among his dozens of triumphs include the 2013 and 2018 SF City Super Senior Championship, the 2013 NCGA Super Senior Stroke Play, the 2018 and 2019 Super Senior Match Play, the 2010 NCGA Four-Ball, and amassing Player of the Year honors in 2018. When he found time to compete at Diablo, he secured 6 President’s Cups, and 6 Match Play Club Championships spanning from 1989-2009. The last victory was earned at my expense when he was 62 years old and giving up 40 yards off the tee to his younger, and outmatched, opponent. Watching David Solomon and seventy-two other top seniors compete at Diablo in early May for a chance to play in the US Senior Open brought back fond memories of Ron’s finest golfing achievement. Against a talented field of pros and amateurs Ron competed in the 2009 qualifier and

took medalist honors at Diablo CC with a smooth 69. His round was punctuated by a perfect strike from one of his famous fairway woods (he carried about four of them) from 217 yards to the back left hole location on #7 to two feet for eagle. Given Ron’s sometimes wobbly putter stroke, it is a good thing it wasn’t from three feet. That round earned Ron a trip to Crooked Stick CC in Indiana, where Ron fulfilled a lifelong dream of teeing it up with numerous Hall of Fame players, including a practice round with Tom Watson. The last time I saw Ron in person was appropriately right here in Diablo in early December 2024. Despite his poor health at the time, Ron and Kathy made the four hour drive from their home in Central California to attend Joe and Sue Raphel’s glamorous Christmas Party. Ron wanted to catch up with all his golf buddies from Diablo and Kathy waited patiently for Ron to finish up each conversation. He wanted to know if I was still competing in tournaments and talked about meeting up for a senior event when he felt better. I recall the last question that I asked him is how often he shoots his age. He replied, with a glint in his eyes, “Almost every time. I lost count at 250 times.” I imagine that most folks must wait to get to heaven before shooting their age, but when Ron showed up for his celestial tee time in January, all he wanted to know is what is the course record?

EXECUTIVE CHEF Summer is one of my favorite times of the year in the kitchen, and I wanted to personally thank all of you for your continued support over the past several months. Seeing our dining rooms, patios, pool, and bocce courts filled with members enjoying time together is exactly what makes our team love what we do. It is a privilege to cook for you, your families, and your guests, and we truly appreciate you making Diablo Country Club part of your summer traditions. We have a lot to look forward to over the next few months. Sharkee's is now open seven days a week, giving everyone another great place to grab lunch or enjoy a cold drink by the pool. Our culinary team has also finished refreshing the Red Horse Tavern lunch and dinner menus with new seasonal dishes that celebrate the best ingredients available right now. I'm especially excited for our Far Niente Wine Dinner on August 7, where we'll pair incredible wines with a menu designed specifically to showcase them. We're also bringing back more themed dinners throughout the summer, so be sure to keep an eye on the Club calendar—there's something for everyone. One of the things I love most about cooking in Northern California is the opportunity to work with some of the best farmers and producers anywhere. Through our partnership with FEED Sonoma, we're able to source beautiful ingredients from small local farms and bring them directly to your table. Every delivery brings something new that inspires our team, which is why you'll often see two or three nightly chef specials featuring the freshest products we can get our hands on. Over the coming weeks, look for ingredients like Nicholas Boldt Farms White Italian Ice Plums, delicate squash blossoms, sprouting cauliflower,

fresh artichokes, Stony Point strawberries, and the heirloom tomatoes that I wait all year for. These are the flavors that define summer in California, and they deserve to be enjoyed at their peak. If you see a nightly special, I encourage you to give it a try—you may discover a new favorite before it finds its way onto a future menu. Of course, no meal is complete without dessert, and this is truly Katia's time of year. Summer fruit gives her endless inspiration, and she continues to amaze us with both her Dessert of the Month and her nightly creations. Keep an eye out for favorites like the Tropical Dome, her Triple Crown Blackberry dessert, and the Lemon Blueberry Upside-Down Cake, along with many other seasonal treats that showcase the incredible fruit available this time of year. On behalf of our entire Culinary Team, thank you for allowing us to do what we love every day. We never take your support for granted, and we're excited to continue creating memorable meals and experiences for you throughout the summer. Diablo Bocce wrapped up another outstanding Spring Season, featuring 38 teams and more than 450 players competing across multiple leagues. After months of spirited competition, four teams advanced to the Diablo Bocce Club Championship playoffs: Team Barolo, Gumbas, Irish Rollers, and wild-card entrant Bada Bing.

As Diablo’s champions, Gumbas represented the club at the Tournament of Champions at Round Hill, competing against the champions from Round Hill, Blackhawk, and Castlewood. The team earned impressive wins over Blackhawk and Round Hill before ultimately falling to eventual champion Castlewood.

The postseason delivered plenty of excitement, including a major semifinal upset as Bada Bing defeated top-seeded Team Barolo to earn a place in the championship match. Meanwhile, Gumbas battled past the Irish Rollers in a hard-fought threegame semifinal to secure their spot in the finals.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all players, captains, volunteers, and supporters who helped make this season such a success. The enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and camaraderie displayed throughout the season continue to make Diablo Bocce one of our community’s favorite traditions.

The championship match between Gumbas and Bada Bing lived up to expectations. Bada Bing captured a closely contested first game, but Gumbas responded with a strong Game 2 victory to force a winner-take-all finale. In the decisive third game, Gumbas delivered their most dominant performance of the postseason, securing the Diablo Bocce Club Championship with a convincing 10–2 victory.

With another exciting season behind us, we’re already looking ahead to the fall. Fall Bocce registration is currently open and will close on Tuesday, August 11, so be sure to register soon and join us for another great season on the courts! Registration for the Fall Season is on the website's Bocce page!

GOLF PROFESSIONAL The dog days of summer are here, and we are in the middle of tournament season. The US Open and British Open have finished, the LPGA has played a few majors, and we have had some Major winners here at Diablo Country Club! Congratulations to the Pink team of DWGG, led by Christine Brensel, for a proper beating of the red, white, and blue team in the annual DWGG Diablo Cup. The team of Scott Brensel and Jonny Serencsa survived the first two holes of the horse race, then proceeded to smash driver out of bounce on 18, only to hit their fourth shot to 4 feet and make the putt for par and win the Director’s Cup. The President’s Cup is the only pure individual stroke play event all year for the men, with divisions broken into Open, Senior and Super Senior. The Gross division in each was won by Ryan Bettencourt, Brian Adams (who shot 71 on day 2) and Terry Spraker, with the Net division won by Neema Mohammadizad (with a 12 under par score), Brian Adams, and Bob Challinor. Great playing by everyone! We can’t forget the kids! Ellie Kim and Harrison Beinke went down to Palm Desert and played in the Callaway World Championship, with a very strong international field. Ellie finished 15TH in her debut for this 3 round event with Harrison finishing second in the 13-14 boys division. Keep up the great work and yes, you will see these two everyday on the putting green. With all the competition around us, we always need to figure out how to peak at our best. This is done

with the proper practice routine! This starts with practicing the driver, as we need to get off the tee box well every time. If we can hit the driver IN PLAY, our scores will come down significantly. Secondly, we need to putt and chip well. If we miss the green, can we get it up and down? Can we put the next shot on the green and even two putt, saving strokes all over the course. Remember, we are trying to erase all of the wasted strokes. I know that many of you do not have a ton of time to practice, so take these two areas and dominate them! We are coming up on the Gold Putter and Women’s Classic, so now is the time to come in the shop and get some matching uniforms. If you are dressed well, you will play well! The Golf Shop has new clothes from Greyson, Holderness and Bourne, and Straightdown. Come in and we will make sure you are looking great. Remember, golf is hard! Play well, have fun, play fast!

FROM THE AGRONOMY TEAM

As we move through the heart of summer, the golf course continues to benefit from bermudagrass's peak growing season while our bentgrass greens remain healthy through carefully timed cultural practices. Our agronomy team has focused on improving long-term turf health, refining playing conditions, and completing several projects designed to enhance the overall golf experience with minimal disruption to play.

Summer Turf Management Throughout the past several weeks, fairways, tees, greens, and green surrounds have received a variety of agronomic treatments, including vertical mowing, aeration, venting, sand topdressing, and fertilizer applications. While each practice serves a different purpose, together they:

∙ Improve rooting depth and relieve soil compaction

∙ Reduce organic matter and promote firmer, smoother playing surfaces

∙ Enhance water infiltration and nutrient uptake ∙ Increase turf density, recovery, and overall plant health

∙ Provide the firm, consistent playing conditions envisioned in the course's original design

With bermudagrass in its most active growth period, recovery from these practices has been excellent, allowing us to continue improving the golf course while maintaining outstanding playability.

Bentgrass Greens Our bentgrass greens have continued to perform exceptionally well despite summer temperatures. Routine solid-tine venting, light micro-core aeration when weather conditions allowed, and bi-weekly sand topdressing have maintained smooth putting surfaces while supporting healthy root systems.

Green speeds have been managed according to weather conditions. During periods of extreme heat, speeds are moderated slightly to reduce plant stress, while cooler weather naturally allows for firmer and faster conditions. This approach protects turf health while positioning the greens for exceptional conditions heading into the fall tournament season.

Bermudagrass Improvement Program Our long-term bermudagrass improvement program continues to produce noticeable results. Green surrounds have been aerated, sand topdressed and treated to reduce Poa annua while encouraging stronger Bermudagrass growth. Members should continue to notice improved turf density, color, drainage, and more consistent playing conditions throughout the golf course. Additional improvements included:

∙ Installation of approximately 1,500 square feet of new Santa Ana bermudagrass sod in the #18 fairway.

∙ Continued fairway drainage refinements to improve surface smoothness.

∙ Ongoing bunker depth restoration through our rotating six-hole maintenance program.

Course Enhancement Projects Several projects are underway to improve both the appearance and functionality of the golf course:

∙ Bentgrass Nursery: Our nursery is being re-

established after supplying sod for recent Bermudagrass removal projects, ensuring a consistent source of matching bentgrass for future repairs.

∙ Water Features: Professional lake management

SENIOR GOLF NEWS The senior season has reached the halfway mark after our away event on July 14. We have 10 more events to go! So far, our first 13 events have dodged both rain and extremely hot weather. There are ample opportunities for guys to register for our upcoming away events as well as home events on Wednesday August 5 and Wednesday September 23. Thirty days before a scheduled event, the registration period begins on the Diablo golf calendar and there are limits to how many players we can bring to away events, so register the sooner the better.

Oakhurst In our 6TH away event of the 2026 season, 17 foursomes from Oakhurst, Castlewood, Diablo, Fountian Grove, Berkeley, and Bayonet competed for prizes on a cool and overcast May 28. Our small list of Diablo players collected only one prize, a second in flight 1. Despite 4-three par opportunities, no Diablo man scored a closest to the pin award. Eric Horodas was our low gross player with an 87.

Green Valley One of our favorite courses to play in the senior rotation is Green Valley in the Suisun Valley. Green Valley limits the number of players because of a shortage of golf carts , so we could only bring the maximum of 20 players on a beautiful Wednesday June 3. In two flights with players from Green Valley, Napa Valley, and Diablo, our men captured

Round Hill On June 10, 14 Diablo men played at Round Hill. There was a large field of 22 foursomes from Diablo, Round Hill and Moraga split into three flights. Diablo winners in flight one included Bob Hagerty with a third. In flight two, Rick Steffens earned a first, Mike Hoversen a second and Bill Bishop a third. In flight three Jon Hackman scored a secondplace prize. Closest to the pin honors were secured by Erick Horodas on Hole 7 and Rick Steffens on Hole 16.

Home Event on June 23 Diablo welcomed Contra Costa, Crow Canyon, Sequoyah, and Orinda to our first 2026 home event. The food prepared by Chef Andy was the hit of the day. The 93 players in 24 foursomes competed in three flights on a warm and wonderful day. Our flight one winner was Dave Yarnold. In flight two, Rob Goldstein’s group placed first, Tom Bard’s group second, and Gary Ryness’ group third. In flight three, Bob Chace’s group placed first, Bruce Kroyer’s second and Ron Bredehoft’s third. Closest to the pin honors went to Skip Bowen with a shot 17

Silverado June 30 saw 16 Diablo men at Silverado Resort on the famous North Course, the site of annual October PGA Championship events. The field on the 30TH from Claremont, Green Valley, Richmond and Diablo joined with the Silverado seniors in 16 foursomes divided into 2 flights. In flight one Tony Abramo placed first, Bob Hagerty second and Gary Ryness third. In flight two Bill Bishop secured a first, Tim Pauling a second and Rick Steffens a third. Our low gross champion of the day was Phil Luecht with a stellar 78. John Nystrom was closest to the pin on Hole 7.

Home Event on July 7 Diablo welcomed guest players from Silverado, Claremont, Richmond and Green Valley competing in 24 foursomes split into 3 flights. In flight one, Tony Abramo was our winner, second went to Terry Spraker, and third went to Dave Yarnold. In flight two Skip Bowen took a second and Jim Clark third In flight three only Ron Bredehoft managed a third-place finish. We had six foursomes with no Diablo members in them. This is not a good thing. Closest to the pin honors went to Skip Bowen and Ron Bredehoft. Low gross honors went to Terry Spraker with a one under par 71.

Green Hills For the first time in Diablo senior men’s history, we played at Green Hills in Millbrae on July 14. Only 46 miles away, this classic Alister MacKenzie design circa 1930 features traditional small greens, gigantic elevation changes, and a slope rating of 136 from the regular tees. Diablo member Paul Bensi is a former president and 30-year member 18

of Green Hills. We joined Green Hills seniors and players from Silvercreek, Sharon Heights, Castlewood and Diablo in one large 59 player flight. Our prize winners on the 14TH included Rob Goldstein with a second and Brian Magstadt with a third. Mile Barenberg won the closest to the pin prize on Hole 7. Our low medalist for the day was Terry Spraker with an 11 over par 82. Did I mention this is a very hard course? The low net award went to Rob Goldstein who managed a one over par net 72.

Senior of the Year Competition To become the senior of the year, you must qualify for the horse race at the end of the season by being one of the top 8 points winners. To accumulate points you enter home and away events, win prizes in the events and get some closest to the pin awards. Currently the top 10 points leaders through 13 events are (in alpha order) Tony Abramo, Bill Bishop, Ron Bredehoft, Rob Goldstein, Bob Hagerty, Bruce Kroyer, Gary Ryness, Terry Spraker, Rick Steffens, and Dave Yarnold. There are plenty of events left to boost your standing.

Coming Up The seniors will play Claremont on Thursday, July 23, Orinda on Tuesday, July 28, a Home Event with San Jose, Green Hills, Oakhurst, and Blackhawk on Wednesday, August 5, a trip to Napa Valley the following day August 6 and San Jose on Tuesday, August 25. September and October will have us play in 5 more events including a home event with Round Hill, Peninsula, Napa Valley, Castlewood, and Ruby Hill on September 23 and the all-important Senior Invitational called Pop Smith. 2026 DWGG Diablo Cup On July 16-17, we played the Diablo Cup, our annual Solheim Cup-style team competition featuring two days of friendly rivalry, teamwork, and plenty of fun. The event kicked off with a pairings cocktail party on Wednesday night. Team Smith was led by Christine Brensel and Sia McDonald. Team Watson was led by Teresa Martinez and Sara Sanders. Team Smith took a commanding 13-5 lead on Thursday due to some fantastic play. Early Friday morning, Team Smith set the tone early, sweeping their first two matches. This momentum carried throughout the team and after it was all over, Team Smith came out victorious with a winning margin of 14 points! After a few years of coming up short, it was time for Captain Christine and Team Smith to take the title. Congratulations! Captains, thank you for all your time and effort leading up to and during the event!

Ice Cream Social

On June 9, 22 Niners enjoyed a fun two-person team event featuring roaming flamingos, plenty of sunshine, and the challenge of staying out of the "beach." The day was filled with friendly competition, laughter, and a wonderful luncheon. A special thank you to Lauren Wheeler for her hard work in organizing and hosting this event.

The Niners enjoyed an Ice Cream Social on July 21, at the Snack Shack following play. On a warm summer day, members gathered to cool off with a variety of delicious frozen treats while enjoying time with fellow golfers. A special thank you to Becky Bates for organizing this fun event and helping everyone beat the heat!

Upcoming Events DONATION DAY | Tuesday, August 18 Each year, the Niners host a Donation Day to support a deserving local charity. This year, from August 11–28, we are inviting the entire Club to join us in making a difference. This year's donation drive will benefit underserved seniors in Contra Costa County through Diablo Valley Giving Partners, an organization that oversees 15 community programs serving local residents. One of its initiatives provides shelfstable food boxes to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Eight times each year, volunteers prepare and distribute 60 food boxes through CalWorks, which administers the locally branded CalFresh (SNAP) program.

If you prefer to make a monetary donation, Susan will be accepting contributions via Square on Tuesday, August 18, from 8:00am. to 12:00pm, outside the Ladies' Locker Room. The Diablo CC Junior golf program has been in full swing this summer! We currently have over 50 junior golfers in our weekly Junior Academy, Pre Elite, Future Champions, Elite, and Elite+ Programs. We are on our 7TH junior golf camp this week, with our 8TH and final junior golf camp of summer the last week of July! During the camps we had bucket golf & birdie ball set up, along with working on short game and full swing mechanics. We had the biggest turn out ever for our Diablo CC PGA Jr league teams this summer, with a total of 52 juniors signing up for our team 13u & 17u teams… all Diablo members! We have one more in house match remaining on Saturday, July 25. Our all star season then begins on July 30 at Santa Teresa Golf Club in San Jose. S U M M E R U P D AT E S Summer arrived at Diablo, and with it came two of the busiest and most exciting months we've had all year. From sunrise clinics to evening pickleball, junior camps, league matches, and social events, our courts were full of energy, laughter, competition, and friendships. If you stopped by the Racquet Sports area over the past two months, chances are you saw smiling faces, great tennis, exciting pickleball, and members enjoying everything our community has to offer.

I'd also like to give a special shout-out to Coach Romana, who has been doing an amazing job this summer helping both our ladies and junior players improve their games. Whether she's running clinics, working with members one-on-one, or encouraging players on the court, her passion and dedication have made a big impact on our program. Our final week of camp will be the week of August 3, and we can't wait to finish another fantastic summer strong.

Thursday Nights Belong to Pickleball On June 11, we kicked off our Summer Pickleball League, and what a great start it has been! Every Thursday evening the courts come alive with friendly competition, plenty of laughs, and lots of new friendships. Whether you're playing every week or just walking by the courts, you can't help but notice the energy. If you haven't stopped by yet, I encourage you to do it, you might just catch the pickleball bug!

A New Tradition Begins

Summer Camp Is Here! The fun officially began on Monday, June 8, as our 8-week Tennis Summer Camp got underway. The courts quickly filled with young players learning new skills, playing games, making friends, and creating summer memories that will last a lifetime. A huge thank you goes to Coach Ryan, who has done an outstanding job leading the program this summer. I'd also like to recognize our incredible junior coaching staff, Rishi, Libby, Ava, Lila, Daniel, and Alex. Their enthusiasm, patience, and energy have kept our campers motivated, smiling, and excited to come back every day. They truly make camp a special experience.

One of the highlights of the summer was introducing our brand-new Country Club Doubles Exchange with our friends from Round Hill and Blackhawk Country Club. Players from all three clubs came together for level-based, friendly matches followed by great food and plenty of conversation. It was wonderful seeing members meet new players, enjoy some competitive tennis, and represent Diablo in such a positive way. For a first-year event, we learned a lot, and that's exciting because we're already talking about bringing it back next summer and better. If you missed it this year, you'll definitely want to be part of it next time!

Wimbledon Whites Tennis Social

Pickleball Takes the Show on the Road On July 15, our pickleball players traveled to Round Hill Country Club for an evening mixer. It was a fantastic night filled with competitive games, new opponents, and plenty of laughs. Events like these are what make our racquet sports community so special, not only are we competing, but we're also building friendships that extend beyond Diablo. A huge thank you to Diana and Evan for organizing another fantastic event and continuing to grow our pickleball community.

Wimbledon Comes to Diablo One of my favorite nights of the summer was our Wimbledon Whites Tennis Social on July 22. Members dressed in their best Wimbledon whites and enjoyed an evening that truly captured the spirit of the Championships. We introduced 26

our brand-new 9 Ball team game, and it was an instant hit! The fast pace, teamwork, strategy, and nonstop action kept everyone smiling all evening. After the tennis wrapped up, everyone gathered at the Court House to enjoy Wimbledon-inspired food, refreshments, and great conversation. It was one of those evenings that reminds us how much fun tennis can be both on and off the court. If you weren't there, you definitely missed a fun one, but don't worry, we'll definitely be bringing it back!

Congratulations to Our USTA Teams The USTA 18+ season has officially come to an end, and I couldn't be prouder of all of our teams. Three Diablo teams qualified for the playoffs:

Congratulations to our Women's 2.5+ Team A, who advanced all the way to USTA Sectionals after an outstanding season. Our Women's 3.0 team also had a terrific run, reaching the final round of the playoffs before their season came to an end.

The Men's Program Keeps Growing One of the things I'm most excited about this year has been watching our men's tennis program continue to grow. Week after week the players showed up ready to compete, support one another, and continue getting better. More importantly, they've built a fun and welcoming group that enjoys being together on and off the court.

Junior Tennis Returns August 17 Our Junior Tennis Program resumes Monday, August 17, and we're excited to welcome back both returning and new players. We have programs for every age and ability beginning at 4 years old. Whether your child is picking up a racquet for the first time or preparing for tournament play, we have a program designed to help them grow, improve, and most importantly, enjoy the game. EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES

CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON Championship season in upon us with our DCC sharks team finishing their last weekend of competition August 1-2, 2026 at Acalanes High School. Swimmers must qualify with a time earned this season (May to July) and can compete in two individuals and two relays. The Sharks had great competitions this season with 10 dual meets and an Invitational. Our League Championship is held over 3 days, and each swimmer swim 3 events. The sharks always prevail with amazing swims, broken team records and the team camaraderie that can not be beat. These swimmers have been preparing all summer swimming 5-6 days a week. It truly is a testament to how hard work pays off. These swimmers challenge themselves twice a week in dual meet competitions, on the hunt for that popped time. Speed is the name of the game, and they all are racing against the clock to be the fastest they can be.

∙ Build a Raft Relay: swimmers build rafts out of pool noodles then their relay has to use the raft for the length of the pool and have the next swimmer use the raft to continue the relay.

FALL SWIM Our next swim progamming available is Fall Swim for Tiger Shark graduates to 18 years old . Tuesday, September 1, is the start of Fall swim. Monday to Thursday, 4:00-6:00pm.
