Welcome to The Daily Item’s first salute to mothers featuring artwork and notes to moms from elementary school students from across the Valley.

We received hundreds of submissions from classes, a great response for the first time ever doing this project. Nearly 90 of them appear in the pages of this special edition.

The remainder of those contributions can be found in online photo galleries, separated by classroom, at dailyitem.com/mothers_day.

The cover art came from Mrs. Karen Phillips’ fourth-grade classroom at White Deer Elementary in the Milton Area School District.

The Daily Item will provide a pizza part to the classroom, that designed the cover selection.
