Car park land deal still in limbo, four years on

Negotiations are underway between developer Willis Bond and Auckland Council about extending how long the firm can sit on a prime central Takapuna public car park site, secured more than four years ago for a still undisclosed and unpaid sum. Details of the deal struck with council’s now disestablished commercial property

arm Eke Panuku have never been revealed, but payment is conditional on settlement. That is yet to occur, the Rangitoto Observer has confirmed through an Official Information Act request. Devonport-Takapuna Local Board members have also been asking about progress. “What’s happening with stage one?”
