Major swimming festival coming to Pupuke New Zealand’s largest freshwater swim festival will be launched at Lake Pupuke on 13 and 14 February 2027. The Freshwater Swim Fest will host three national events over a single weekend: the New Zealand Open Water Championships, the New Zealand Secondary School Open
Water Championships and the New Zealand Masters Open Water Championships. The festival will also feature New Zealand’s first ever “Doggie Swimming Championships”. Created by Quantum Events, the Swim Fest will combine outdoor swimming for
all abilities with live music, food trucks, a garden bar and family activities. The 2.5km main event doubles as the national championship, with a $6000 prize pool expected to draw a strong field of open-water swimmers. To page 2
