Introduction Welcome to The Cagwin Farms Online Labor Day Show Heifer and Frozen Genetics Sale; we are excited to once again offer an exclusive set of show heifer prospects and frozen genetics. We believe that we have assembled a wide array of cattle that will compete in the show ring and excel when set into production. Our sale features rare genetics from some of the top producing sires and cow families in the Shorthorn breed. Cagwin Farms would like to thank all those that came through to view the cattle and for viewing our online offering.

Sale & Lot Information All cattle sell under the standard breeding agreement of the American Shorthorn Association. Show cattle are broke to tie and lead, and Land of Lincoln eligible cattle are marked as such. Cagwin Farms is more than happy to assist with show prep and nutrition for the cattle when possible. Cagwin Farms will assist with delivery, if possible, but delivery arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. All live lots must be picked up within 14 days at the conclusion of the sale, unless other arrangements are made. All genetic lot delivery arrangements must be made within 14 days at the conclusion of the sale. All cattle have been calf hood vaccinated. Cattle have also had two rounds of Titanium 5, Bovalis, 20/20 Vision, 7 with Spur vaccine, and poured with Ivermectin. Cagwin Farms retains the right to partner on a flush with the new buyer, at the buyer’s discretion, on all female lots selling in the sale. Cagwin Farms will also offer semen on any CCS bulls free of cost to open heifer buyers, if so desired. Eligible I felt that we needed to start our sale off with a Can’t Stop daughter that exemplifies what type of females he can consistently produce, and what better than a full sib to a female that went on to be competitive at the national level purchased for $12,500 by Blue Ridge Farms in Arkansas. The lot 1 female is so elegantly designed from the base of her chest floor to her jaw line, but doesn’t sacrifice true shape or dimension. I really begin to appreciate this female even more when she is set into motion as she maneuvers the pen with ease and you will too once you see her lot video.

An embryo purchase from my good friends at Waymar and Woodrange Farms that has turned out to be my best embryo purchase of the year. The resurgence of Evolution influenced cattle and the longevity of the proven Gentry donor gravitated me towards this mating — I couldn’t be more pleased with the offspring it has produced. I appreciate the growth, functionality, and maternal design of all three of these flushmates, along with each of their own individual characteristics and attributes. 2A

If you prefer cattle to be designed with a little more power and shape, 104P should definitely grab your attention. Of the three sisters, she is without a doubt the stoutest structured female that offers more muscle shape with an awesome hair coat to go along with it. With her phenotypical attributes and stellar pedigree, I sure think this one will be a timeless breeding piece for the winning bidder.

I love the added size and capacity of the 128P female that we keep searching for when trying to make the next generation – she is so bold-ribbed and massive topped all while still possessing a set of incredible feet and legs. This eye-catching white female is going to be an excellent producer as a mature cow and will most likely find her way into the donor pen.

202P is the youngest and greenest in her condition of the Gentry’s, but perhaps the best designed from her shoulder forward. She’s the longest spined of the trio, with a perfectly designed back leg and excellent foot quality. There is truly something in this trio for everyone, and 2C might just be the hidden gem of the Gentry heifers.

Maternal sib in blood to the James family’s Charming Lady female purchased CCS Charming Lady 315K for $10,000 that was successfully campaigned around the country a few years ago. We don’t typically have many plus females, but she has to be one of my favorites that we have ever offered. Like most Can’t Stop daughters, she is stout featured, big middled, and great haired, but probably what impresses me the most is for how powerful this female is, she is still so maternal about her make up and correct in her lines. She has incredible breeding pieces that should mate well to modern Shorthorn bulls whether you are trying to produce purebred females or steers – the breeding opportunities are endless. I’d also imagine that she will catch the eye of a few judges throughout her show career and find the backdrop along the way.

CCS DLJ Fantasy Girl 218P EST ET I had mixed emotions about keeping this female to have a replacement daughter out of our SULL Fancy Nancy donor or saving her to be lot 1 in our 2027 bred female sale to our new herd sire, Byland Pursuit 5EL85, but decided we needed to offer an Eighteen Seventy Two female in this year’s Labor Day Sale. Even though we decided to go ahead and offer her this year, the possibility of a Byland Pursuit 5EL85 x Fantasy Girl is not totally off the table for the lucky buyer who gets to take this heifer home once semen becomes available. Devin called her out in the picture pen as her favorite of the sale because of the maternal power she packs even as a heifer calf and we know 218P is going to be a whale of a bred and make a model of a brood cow.

An intriguing female whose mother has been one of our most consistent producers, with one of the more interesting pedigrees worth noting. This April heifer is a 7/8 plus who will stand out in the plus show with the opportunity to breed back on a purebred bull to create more consistent typed purebred females that can compete, yet also bring the quality and depth to your herd that we know CCS Can’t Stop females add.

Lot 7 is out of a first calf heifer by Eighteen Seventy Two that really out performed herself, and sired by my all time favorite AI sire that continues to click well on Eighteen Seventy Two daughters. 414P is one of the more elegantly designed females in the sale that balances up nicely from the side and possesses plenty of swoop to her middle one third. She also illustrates a real productive look that you can even see in her picture that allows me to believe she is sure to be a big time generator down the road.

This heifer has continued to grow on me as she improves everyday. She is a heavily constructed female that offers a balanced look, with the added frame size and performance that we come to expect from the Gold Chain cow family. Will be available after weaning .
