Symphony No 1 "Tanglewood Tales" consists of three parts: movement I, II and a Coda.
Movement I can be separately performed with the title "Untangled Tales" and Movement II can be separately performed with the title "Entangled Tales".
I Untangled Tales (2011) commissioned by the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie with financial support of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation dedicated to Lothar Zagrosek, George Benjamin and the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie
II Entangled Tales (2007) commissioned by the Boston Symphony Orchestra/Tanglewood Music Center with financial support of the Fund for creation of music dedicated to Edo de Waart, Anthony Fogg and the Boston Symphony Orchestra
