AriAdne is commissioned by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

Theo Verbey passed away on October 13th, 2019 only a month after delivering the completed score of AriAdne to the orchestra and his publisher.

The first performance was given posthumously on January 30th, 2020 by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra conducted by Santtu-Matias Rouvali.

Thanks are due to Tobias de Haas for his efforts in preparing the performance score and parts and to Mark van Dongen from the orchestra for his support.
