f you’ve ever heard the term “crowdfunding” you probably first think of an entrepreneur hoping to generate money online for a brilliant new idea for a must-get-to-market product. The creator has a prototype, writes up a snappy business plan, gets the information online, and hopes to generate small donations from lots of people to see the plan turn into reality. It’s similar to the newer GoFundMe campaigns we see online for those in need or to raise money for a social cause. But what about crowdfunding in the real estate market? It may now be possible for individuals to invest in big multi-million dollar real estate investments, without giving millions that they (probably) don’t have. Some companies are now looking for numerous investors for large real estate projects and are opening up the opportunity to create wealth for people who would previously not have been able to be at the table at all. On certain platforms, individuals may need only several thousand dollars to have a share in a real estate investment. With a lower risk of loss, more and more people seem to be interested in dipping their toe in the real estate investment market. ow is a great time to be a space enthusiast! After the moon landing almost 50 years ago, it began to feel like space exploration was sort of a thing of the past. But thanks to entrepreneurs and dreamers such as Elon Musk (of Tesla and SpaceX fame) and Sir Richard Branson (of everything Virgin), as well as a revitalization of NASA programs, trips to the moon and Mars may be in the near future. In fact, some experts say humans will be on Mars as soon as 2030! Recently, Musk’s company SpaceX launched the world’s most powerful rocket and even sent his own red Tesla Roadster into orbit (yes, it’s still up there and will be for millions of years). And while SpaceX is forging ahead in the field of space exploration, other private companies are pushing the envelope as well. Blue Origin is another private space company that is creating reusable, vertically landing space rockets. The company envisions millions of people living and working in space. For now, Blue Origin has built the New Shepard rocket, which may soon be available for space tourists. Their model allows for an 11-minute trip to space in which travelers can experience weightlessness, enjoy tremendous views, and land back to earth in a capsule. With private companies working alongside NASA, the years to come should prove to be an exciting time for space discovery and technological advancements. We’re excited to be along for the ride!

Tilapia Filets Blackening Spice Blend Oil Green and Red Cabbage (shredded) Corn Tortillas Tomatoes (diced) Cilantro (chopped) Lime Wedge
DIRECTIONS Cut the white fish into servable strips. Toss the fish with the blackening seasoning (any store bought seasoning will do just fine) mixed with a little bit of oil. In a sauté pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add seasoned fish and cook until well done. For the pickup, heat up tortillas (2 per taco) and evenly distribute the cabbage amongst the tortillas. Add fish filets and garnish with chopped tomatoes and cilantro. Finish the dish with a side of tomatillo avocado and lime wedges, or any other sauce you would like!

Inventory in Orange Tree has Gapped Down in May 2018 Current Mortgage Rates The cost of borrowing money is going up… again. The Federal Reserve decided to raise its benchmark rate by a quarter of a point this month. So what does this mean for you? Your credit card rate is going to be a full percentage point higher this summer than it was two summers ago, before the Fed started to raise rates. Spring has arrived, and our busy summer buying season is just around the corner. If you haven’t noticed inventory in and around the Orange Tree area continues to fall. I have one listing left in our community and that home just received another offer. Some recent sales I’ve had this month include La Camarilla, which sold in 6 days for 98% of list price, ($1,080,000) my other listing went under contract for over list price, and my third listing took a little longer to sell (61 days) but also SOLD and closed not far from list price at $3,360,000. The home that just closed for $3,360,000 was on the cover of last months Orange Tree Insider and attracted lot’s of attention. Every single home I have put on the cover of the Orange Tree Insider over the years ended up selling with one exception. The one home that did not sell actually received two offers but fell out of escrow due to a family sickness. You can be assured if I list your home and put it on the cover of the Orange Tree Insider, it will sell. MLS history shows my average days on the market compared to the competition has been much shorter on average, and my sales price on average higher than the competition, many comparable homes I have SOLD have been closer to $300 per square foot, while the competition has averaged 15 to 20% less for the same comparable sold home. That means on a one million dollar home I could be putting an additional $150,000 to $200,000 more in my sellers pocket at closing. I would be happy to sit down and show you those past results.
