Skillet Chai Apple Crisp INGREDIENTS 2 tsp 1 tsp 1 tsp 1/2 tsp 1/3 c 1/3 c + 1 tbsp 1/4 c 1/4 c 1/4 tsp
Ground cinnamon Ground cardamom Ground ginger Ground allspice Old-fashioned oats Unbleached all-purpose flour, divided Sliced toasted almonds or chopped walnuts Packed light brown sugar Kosher salt
3 tbsp Melted butter or coconut oil 5 Medium baking apples, cored, peeled and sliced into 1/2-inch slices (about 7 cups total) 2 to 4 tbsp Granulated sugar (use more for tart apples) Juice from one small lemon plus 1 tbsp water Vanilla ice cream or freshly whipped cream (optional)
DIRECTIONS Combine cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and allspice in small bowl; stir well. Combine oats, 1/3 cup flour, nuts, brown sugar, salt and all but 1 teaspoon spice mixture in medium bowl; stir in butter until combined. Place apples, granulated sugar, remaining 1 tablespoon flour, reserved teaspoon of spice mixture, lemon juice and water in large mixing bowl; stir to coat. Pour into a 10-inch cast iron or ovenproof skillet; cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until softened. Sprinkle oat mixture over apples. Bake at 375° F for 20 minutes or until filling is bubbling and topping is lightly toasted. Cool for 10 minutes. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon. 2018 Looks to be Another Strong Year for the Orange Tree Area

Current Mortgage Rates The cost of borrowing money is going up… again. The Federal Reserve decided to raise its benchmark rate by a quarter of a point this month. So what does this mean for you? Your credit card rate is going to be a full percentage point higher this summer than it was two summers ago, before the Fed started to raise rates. The same thing Mike Tompkins happened with home equity lines of credit; Sales Manager your rate will be a full percentage point Mortgage Loan higher this year than it was two years ago. Originator It's now more important than ever to make more than the minimum monthly payment and get those credit card balances paid off. Some good news: the Fed’s action should not affect mortgage rates for people looking to buy a home. In fact, the average 30year fixed-mortgage rate loan is still under 4% right now.

What we have working for us is low inventory, inventory in the Orange Tree area continues to fall, the beginning of 2018 shows there are currently 24 homes on the market in our area and that is down from 32 when I wrote my last newsletter 45 days ago.
