s more and more of us work from home – by choice or by necessity, finding a secluded and quiet space amidst the hubbub of home life can prove difficult. After all, who wants to take a call from your boss while the dog is barking and your kids have Cartoon Network cranked to 30? That’s where the “shedquarters” comes in.

What are shedquarters, you may be wondering? This newly coined term for a small and separate home office structure on your property is suddenly something of a work-from-home movement. In the past, employees and entrepreneurs have headquartered their home offices in a room, perhaps a corner by the front door, or maybe cloistered off in the basement. But very often these high traffic – or even hidden away – areas become problematic. They are often too close to distractions, such as television and the kitchen. Family tends to gravitate to these zones too easily.
This blend of fine dining, fun drinks, and funky live music is the newest sports trend, with the popular venue Topgolf leading the way. The driving range is now a hip new spot to hang out, whether you’re a golfer or not. No more dropping coins in a machine to get a bucket full of balls just to see how far you can hit it. Who knows how far those shots are really going, anyway? At Topgolf, with some 40 locations around the country, guests try to hit their micro-chipped golf balls into circular bulls-eye targets out in the fields in front of them. Most of these “shoffices” are small, some as little as 8 by 8 feet or 10 by 10 feet and they range in price from about $6,000 to $12,000, while some are considerably more expensive and come fully loaded and ready to be placed somewhere perfect with a view. These new home office spaces often have a few things in common: they are small, they are modern in design with ample windows so the space doesn’t feel cramped, and they are necessarily sparse in terms of décor. Many of the companies designing them are using ecofriendly materials as well. And because of their minimalist designs, these shedquarters can blend into the landscape nicely. Spinach Feta Cheese Dip FLAVORFUL
Tires screaming around corners. Cars slamming into sidewalls. If you’re looking for excitement, Octane Raceway in Scottsdale gives you the ultimate adrenaline rush! The 1/3-mile track is the only full time indoor/outdoor track in the U.S. The highspeed European race karts carve up the corners and fly down the straightaways up to 45 MPH on a challenging road course. Each lap begins indoors then winds through an outdoor section of the course before returning inside.

But what if going to the driving range was something you did with your friends at night, with a margarita or a chilled beer in your hand, and a live band performing nearby? Kind of like an upgraded night at the bowling alley, only the sport is golf, and the atmosphere is a bit more swanky.
INGREDIENTS 1 gal Water 1½ lbs Fresh spinach ½ c Olive oil ¼ c Garlic, minced 2 tbsp Parsley, chopped ½ tbsp
Kosher salt
½ tbsp ½ lbs ½ lbs 12 oz ¼c
Black pepper Feta cheese, crumbled Jack cheese, shredded Cream cheese Grated parmesan cheese
Directions Bring water to a boil in a large pot. Place the spinach in the water and blanch until just wilted (approximately 20 – 30 seconds). Remove from water and place into a colander, then place into an ice bath so that it doesn’t continue to wilt. Squeeze to remove all excess water and then rough chop the spinach. Set aside. Heat olive oil in a sauté pan and add minced garlic. Let the garlic turn golden brown then add parsley, salt and pepper, and sauté briefly and set aside. Combine feta, jack and cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Mix cheese until well combined. Add garlic/parsley mixture and spinach and continue mixing until thoroughly combined. Place spinach mixture in a casserole dish, sprinkle the top with grated parmesan cheese and bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until bubbling slightly and golden brown on top. Serve with toasted pita bread. Serves 4.
