Welcome back to the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium for the second home game of four that starts off our 2026 SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division season! We’d like to take this opportunity to also welcome Ciaran Kilduff back to the Brandywell along with his staff, players, and the officials and supporters from who have travelled up from Dundalk this evening. Dundalk are playing their first game of the 2026 season here tonight following the postponment of their first game against Shamrock Rovers last week, meaning that Ciaran Kilduff is making his debut as a Premier Division manager here tonight. He also made his debut in senior football here at the Brandywell for Shamrock Rovers in May 2007 as an 18 year old lad! So plenty of memories here for Ciaran! He’s scored enough against us over the years as well!
But we’re only at the Brandywell tonight die to ongoing work at Oriel Park which has reversed the fixtures tonight and later in the season. Dundalk’s last win here was November 2022 when a Keith Ward goal sealed the win. We’ll be hoping to keep the 100% win record in 2026 intact tonight though and claim all 3 points. Yeah, OK, I’ll not get carried away, we’ve only played one game, but comebacks like that one last week is what matters come the end of the season! Enjoy the game!

MESSAGE FROM THE MANAGER
I’d like to start this week by sincerely thanking our supporters for the amazing atmosphere you created in Friday night’s win over Sligo Rovers.
We knew things will take time to settle down with so many new faces in the squad, and as we talked about preseason, we have to find a way to win until then. Thankfully we did find a way last weekend, but the role the fans played in that was huge as well. This stadium can be an amazing place on matchnights and we’re confident it will get better as the season progresses, especially with the planned new pitch on the way. With a run of three more home games in front of us we will no doubt need your help again as we welcome Ciaran Kilduff and his Dundalk side to the city this evening
work is still ongoing within the group as we prepare for a long season.
much it would mean to us to start the new season with back-to-back wins.
One of the things that we’ve been keen to pay close attention to is the pathway from our Academy into the first team set-up.
A good start can make all the difference because if anything, the league looks even more competitive than last year and that is saying something!
You’ll hopefully have seen that we had six underage players involved in preseason and we’ve also now been integrating them into senior training sessions at their own availaility.
Their game at Tallaght was obviously called off last Friday so they’ll be keen to come out of the blocks quickly so we’ll have to be prepared for that.
It’s vital to have that link between the Academy and first team group and we will continue to work with Mark McChrystal and his coaches to improve and maintain that relationship.
Ahead of the game, I also wanted to mention that
For now though, I know how

It’s going to be another tough night, make no mistake about that, so your backing will again be massive. Enjoy the game!
