Celebrating the Best of the Best in Dentistr y, as Voted by the N ifty Thrifty Dentists Com munity In 2025, I’m proud to announce the third annual Nifty Awards, a peer-driven celebration created within the Nifty Thrifty Dentists community to honor and recognize the very best professionals in dentistry. From the beginning, the Nifty Awards were designed to reflect the voice of the dental profession, and the Nifty Thrifty Dentists group is the heartbeat of that process. Rather than relying on a committee or panel to determine nominees and winners, the awards are shaped entirely by the members of this community. I intentionally recused myself from both the nomination and voting process and removed myself from consideration, ensuring the results reflect the collective voice of dentistry, not personal influence. The Nifty Thrifty Dentists group brings together a wide range of dental professionals. Dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, team members, vendors, consultants, executives, and educators all participate, creating a rare space where the entire dental ecosystem has a voice. Because of this diversity, being nominated for a Nifty Award means more than excelling in one role. It means making a meaningful impact across dentistry as a whole. By anchoring the Nifty Awards in the Nifty Thrifty Dentists community, two important things happen. First, the awards become a true reflection of what dentistry values. Winners are chosen by peers who work in the profession every day and understand who is truly making a difference. Second, the awards elevate leaders and innovators who may not otherwise receive widespread recognition. Through thousands of nominations and votes, the community brings attention to dental professionals, vendors, consultants, and educators who are positively influencing practices and teams across the industry. As in previous years, the Nifty Awards followed a two-round voting process. The first round, held over one month, narrowed each category to five finalists. The second round, conducted one month later, determined the winners from that finalist group. And today, in this edition of Dental Lifestyles magazine, I’m excited to announce the winners of the third annual Nifty Awards, as nominated and selected by the Nifty Thrifty Dentists community. Before doing so, I want to thank every member who participated and recognize all of the nominees. Simply being nominated reflects the trust, respect, and impact you have earned within the dental community. Many of the races were incredibly close, which speaks to the depth of talent represented in the Nifty Thrifty Dentists group. Congratulations to all who were nominated and to this year’s winners. Here’s to another great year in dentistry, strengthened by a community that continues to support, challenge, and elevate the profession.

Mango Voice Sweeps the 2025 Nifty Awards with Five Wins By Dr. Glenn Vo, Editor-in-Chief of Dental Lifestyles Magazine
When Mango Voice took
home five Nifty Awards this year—including Best Phone Service, Favorite Nifty Thrifty Vendor, Best Dental Executive, Most Valuable Resource, and Favorite Sales Rep—it would be easy to credit a single visionary leader. But ask CEO Kevin Tallman about the achievement, and he’ll quickly redirect the spotlight. “We have an amazing team,” Kevin told me. “When a team comes together for a shared vision, incredible things can happen.” That philosophy has defined Mango Voice’s approach since Kevin became the CEO in 2019. Today, they serve over 14,000 practices across North America and Canada, with roughly 90% of their customer base coming from the dental industry. Their growth hasn’t come from flashy marketing campaigns or aggressive sales tactics—it’s been built on genuine relationships and a team that treats every practice like family.
A team effort, through and through Kevin’s Best Dental Executive award might have his name on it, but he’s quick to share the credit. “This recognition means so much because it reflects
the passion and dedication of the entire Mango Voice team,” he said. “We show up every day to make a real difference for dental practices, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built together.”
shoutouts,” Richard joked, “including my habit of chiming in on every thread that even mentions phones. When you love what you do and who you work with, it just kind of spills onto the internet.”
Mackenzie also pointed to the team dynamic that makes her work fulfilling. “I want to acknowledge my colleagues at Mango Voice—working with such a great team makes my job easy to love,” she shared.
That sentiment echoes throughout the organization. When asked about their Best Phone Service win, the team’s response focused entirely on the community they serve: “We’re truly thankful for the dental industry and for every practice that puts their communication in our hands. Our customers inspire us to keep innovating, improving, and creating tools that make their days smoother and their patient care stronger.”
But behind the humor lies a complete commitment to service. Richard’s philosophy centers on authentic connection: “I treat every practice and partner like they truly matter—because they do. My goal is to listen first, understand what they need, and be the kind of support they can count on. Going above and beyond isn’t extra to me; it’s just how I believe relationships should work.”
More than a vendor—a true partner
The man behind the MVR award Richard May, VP of Business Development, took home the Most Valuable Resource award—a recognition that anyone in the Nifty Thrifty Dentists community would immediately understand. Richard has become something of a fixture in the group, always ready with helpful advice and yes, the occasional Mango Voice mention. “I’d like to thank everyone who tolerates my constant Facebook comments and Mango Voice
When he’s not fielding questions in the Nifty Thrifty group or supporting practices, Richard recharges outdoors—hiking, skiing, and camping. “Having that balance helps me show up fully for the practices and partners I support,” he said.
A favorite face in sales Partner Success Manager Mackenzie Limtiaco rounded out the individual wins with the Favorite Sales Rep award. Her response to the recognition was characteristically humble: “I’m incredibly grateful to be voted a winner for the Nifty Awards. Thank you to this amazing community for always being so supportive and kind.”
The Favorite Nifty Thrifty Vendor award speaks to something deeper than product quality. It reflects the relationships Mango Voice has cultivated within our community over the years. “This community has supported us from the very beginning, and we’re especially thankful for Dr. Glenn Vo, his team, and all of the amazing practices who choose Mango Voice,” the team shared. “We’ll never stop appreciating the fact that we get to spend our days talking about phones and helping offices communicate better. We genuinely love creating solutions that make the front office run smoother and feel more customized to each practice.” That enthusiasm isn’t manufactured—it’s evident in every interaction the Mango Voice team has with the dental community, whether at conferences, in online forums, or during support calls.

Looking ahead Five awards in a single year is a remarkable achievement, but for the Mango Voice team, it’s validation of an approach they’ve believed in all along: put people first, build genuine relationships, and trust that the results will follow. As Kevin put it: “I want to thank Nifty Thrifty and Dr. Glenn Vo for creating a movement that brings our industry together and lifts all of us up. The dental community is full of hardworking, innovative professionals, and I’m grateful to serve and grow alongside them.” Five awards. One team. And a whole lot of rowing in the same direction. INDUSTRY INFLUENCER OF THE YEAR: How Dr. Anissa Broussard Is Bringing Heart Back Into Dental Marketing
ANISSA
By Dr. Glenn Vo, Editor-in-Chief of Dental Lifestyles Magazine
Every year, the Nifty Thrifty Dentists community comes togeth-
er to recognize the individuals who have made an extraordinary impact on our profession. This year, our Industry Influencer of the Year is someone whose impact on the profession speaks for itself. Dr. Anissa Broussard has spent the better part of two decades helping dentists understand that effective marketing isn’t about offering discounts or gimmicks—it’s about authentic connection. And in an era where AI is reshaping how patients find their providers, her message has never been more relevant. I’ve had the privilege of watching Anissa’s journey unfold over the years, from her early days teaching Facebook marketing to dentists who didn’t even know what a “funnel” was, to her current role leading Digital Floss, one of the most innovative marketing agencies serving the dental industry. For this edition’s cover feature, I sat down with Anissa to discuss her journey, her philosophy, and why she believes we’re standing at a pivotal moment in dental marketing history.
From Popeye’s Chicken to Practice Philosophy To understand Anissa Broussard, you have to understand where she comes from. Growing up in New Orleans, she learned her most important business lesson not from a textbook or a conference but from her father’s experience managing a Popeye’s Chicken restaurant. “My dad walked into what was the least profitable location in New Orleans,” Anissa shared with me. “Employees were stealing chicken, throwing chicken at each other, orders were wrong, and customers were complaining. It was a mess.” What her father did next shaped everything Anissa would become. He called a meeting and addressed the elephant in the room directly. He told the team he’d noticed chicken was going missing at the end of shifts. Rather than threatening or punishing anyone, he simply said he had a daughter at home to feed—and told them to take the chicken if they needed it for their families. He implemented accountability measures for orders, but he also created an incentive program, putting money from his own pocket toward bonuses when they hit their goals. Within a year, that location became the most profitable Popeye’s in New Orleans. Al Copeland himself pulled Anissa’s father out of the restaurant to train managers at Popeye’s University. “The biggest lesson I ever learned, I learned from my dad,” Anissa told me. “When you take care of people, they’ll take care of you.” Her father also instilled in her a belief that would fuel her ambition throughout her career: “It doesn’t matter where you come from. The only difference between you and anyone else is that they know something you don’t know. When you learn what they know, you can have what they have.” That philosophy turned Anissa into a perpetual student—and eventually, a teacher.
Twenty Years of Clinical Excellence, Then a Question Anissa practiced clinical dentistry for two decades, building expertise in complex restorative cases, implants, and veneers. She was heavily involved in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and built a thriving practice. By most measures, she had achieved success. DENTAL LIFESTYLES • ISSUE NO. 13 2025

“I’ve realized that everything I’ve done has been a prerequisite for this,” she explained. “Being a dentist for 20 years, building a coaching program, creating software, working with Russell on conversions—all of it prepared me to build this agency.” What makes Digital Floss different, according to Anissa, comes down to two words: heart and head.
The Heart and Head Philosophy “Marketing in dentistry is broken,” Anissa stated bluntly. “And the reason it’s broken is that the heart has been taken out.” She sees most dental marketing falling into one of two traps. Some agencies focus purely on lead generation—running Google ads, chasing clicks, competing on price. Others focus on branding—beautiful photos, nice logos—but without any strategy to actually convert that awareness into patients. “It’s not just heart, and it’s not just head,” Anissa explained. “It’s both. And when people understand that, magic happens.” The “heart” side of Digital Floss’s approach centers on authentic content. Every client goes through a copy call with a human copywriter who captures their voice, their story, and their passion for dentistry.

“These AI systems are looking at everything,” Anissa explained. “Not just your website—your reviews, your social media content, your presence across every platform. And here’s what’s fascinating: AI doesn’t want to read other AI. It’s looking for human content.” That insight shapes Digital Floss’s entire approach. Human copywriters create the content. Doctors deliver the message on camera. The AI systems reward authenticity. The results speak for themselves: 80% of Digital Floss clients rank at the top of Google, AI overviews, and maps—many without spending a dollar on Google ads or traditional SEO. That conversation becomes the foundation for everything— scripts, social posts, website copy, video content.

Morning at a Time
Every morning at 9 a.m., Anissa holds a tech call with her development team. She dreams out loud. They tell her what’s possible. Then they build it.
Why She’s This Year’s Industry Influencer When I think about what makes someone truly influential, I come back to impact. How many lives have they touched? How many practices have they helped transform? How many dentists are better off because this person exists? By that measure, Anissa Broussard stands alone. She’s taught thousands of dentists how to market authentically. She’s built coaching programs, software platforms, and now an agency that’s pioneering the integration of AI with human-centered marketing. She’s maintained her clinical practice with over 20 team members, still understanding firsthand what it means to be a dentist in 2026. But more than any of that, she’s stayed true to the lesson her father taught her at that Popeye’s restaurant in New Orleans: take care of people, and they’ll take care of you.

Rising Stars in Dentistry By Dr. Glenn Vo, Editor-in-Chief of Dental Lifestyles Magazine
Every year, I have the privilege of meeting dental professionals who are doing remarkable things—not just in the
operatory, but across every corner of our industry. This year's Rising Stars represent that spirit of innovation and service. From emergency preparedness to virtual staffing, cybersecurity to leadership coaching, these seven individuals are solving real problems and making dentistry better for all of us. I'm excited to introduce them to you.
Dr. Jordan Cooper Dr. Jordan Cooper grew up in a dental family—his father a dentist for 47 years, his mother a hygienist. He knew exactly what he was getting into when he chose the profession. After graduating as a Chancellor's Scholar from the University of Arkansas in 1998 with a degree in Spanish—having studied abroad in Mexico, Costa Rica, and Spain—Jordan earned his dental degree in 2006 and joined his father's practice in Arkansas. But he wasn't content to stop there. Jordan founded a bilingual practice in Springdale and built a small DSO of seven practices before selling to Rock Dental in 2015, carving out the family practice from the sale. After taking time to focus on personal projects, he joined MB2 Dental in 2018 as Arkansas State Lead and partner. "MB2 has been a breath of fresh air," Jordan explained. "They've allowed me to grow in Arkansas while taking care of all the parts of management that I either don't like or don't have a strong skill set for." Beyond clinical work, Jordan is an Amazon International Best-Selling author. His book Chasing the Blue Marlin, inspired by completing a list of challenging goals he'd set at an early age, shares insights on goal setting and self-actualization. It sparked a speaking tour that's taken him to keynotes, graduations, and team-building events nationwide.
His latest venture takes him beyond The results speak for themselves. One dentistry altogether. In 2025, he formed El practice Erica worked with was busy but Salvador Hospitality Management with breaking down behind the scenes—constant partners Davesh Sitaram and Drew Ramey, turnover, an exhausted owner, a burned-out bringing roughly 60 years of combined M&A team. Erica Benavente With 29 years of experience across nearly every role in a dental practice—clinical assisting, front desk, treatment planning, team training, and practice management—Erica Benavente has seen where things break down. More importantly, she's learned how to fix them. As founder of Quest Dental Solutions, Erica now serves as a Fractional COO for dental practices nationwide, helping owners eliminate chaos, strengthen leadership, and build operational foundations for sustainable growth. Her approach is hands-on by design.
"I'd watch practice owners hire consultants who diagnosed problems well, delivered thoughtful recommendations, and then disappeared," Erica explained. "Three months later, nothing had changed. The owner was still overwhelmed, the team was still confused, and the same issues were quietly draining energy and momentum." The Jordan's commitment to giving back runs problem, she realized, wasn't insight—it was deep. He's led 15 dental mission trips to execution. "Dentists don't need more advice. "Culture isn't what you others in whatever capacity we can." declare—it's what shows up when pressure hits," Erica said. "When teams know exactly what's expected and how the day is supposed to run, stress drops and trust rises."
Danielle Kramer Danielle Kramer's 23-year journey through dentistry started in medical billing, wound through clinical assisting and front desk work, and led her to build three businesses solving the pain points she witnessed firsthand. EZ Dental Solutions provides coaching and training for dental teams. Blueprint RCM handles revenue cycle management. The Schedule Squad focuses on scheduling and reactivation services. All three are stateside operations with consistent, reliable support—a detail Danielle emphasizes because she knows how much it matters when you need help fast. Her mission is personal. When Danielle started out in dentistry, she felt there were limited resources available for people in her position—those working hard but lacking guidance on the business side. "Many practice owners lack business training," she noted. "We fill that gap by analyzing metrics, providing consistent coaching, and helping teams improve phone call conversions and overall performance." What sets Danielle's approach apart is her focus on the coordination between dentists, office managers, and front desk staff. She sees the disconnects that cost practices patients and revenue—scheduling stress, unclear metrics, inconsistent follow-up—and her team provides the expertise to address them. For practices that feel stuck, Danielle offers the kind of hands-on support that turns confusion into clarity.

He's selective about participants, conducting interviews to ensure the right fit. He's also launching a leadership coaching program featuring weekly live episodes in a private Facebook community, addressing the struggles dental professionals face and offering real solutions.
Dr. William Huynh Dr. William Huynh brings a unique perspective to dental emergency preparedness—he's a licensed pharmacist. When a pediatric dentist friend mentioned she was paying over $1,100 for emergency kits, William did the math and realized he could build a comparable kit for $650. That conversation sparked Meds2U.
Anthony Jurjevic Anthony Jurjevic spent years in corporate consulting, including ethical hacking and cybersecurity work at firms like Accenture. His pivot to dentistry came unexpectedly—helping his wife's dental practice with computer issues revealed a massive gap in the market. Now his company provides comprehensive IT and cybersecurity services exclusively for dental practices. The threats facing dental offices are real and growing. Anthony described ransomware attacks using double extortion tactics—encrypting data and backups while simultaneously stealing and publishing patient information on the dark web. "A basic firewall and antivirus aren't enough anymore," he explained. "You need a layered security approach."
His company covers support, security, and infrastructure management under a single flat fee. When onboarding clients with His pharmacy background shapes everything problematic networks, they typically wipe and rebuild the system, resulting in a 20% about the company's approach. "Especially in breach under their care.
What differentiates Anthony's approach is accountability. "General IT providers often act as vendors without taking ownership of the technology," he noted. "They might disable security measures to access servers and never tell you. We take full accountability for our clients' systems." For practices unsure about their current security posture, Anthony offers a complimentary security assessment to identify vulnerabilities before they become disasters.
Medina Scott Medina Scott has spent her career in dentistry watching practices struggle with the same problems: staff turnover, administrative overload, and owners stuck in day-to-day operations instead of growing their business. As CEO of GetVWire, she's built a solution. The company provides virtual assistants to dental offices across the U.S., handling operations, revenue cycle management, and staffing support. Because their VAs are trained specifically in dental workflows and office culture, onboarding is fast and friction-free. When a team member is out sick or leaves unexpectedly, GetVWire ensures the practice keeps running smoothly. "The role of an office manager should focus on growing and scaling the business," Medina explained. "We take on tasks like billing and insurance verification to free them up for high-level responsibilities." GetVWire was founded over six years ago when COVID-19 exposed staffing and systems inefficiencies across the industry. Medina saw an opportunity to provide reliable, consistent support that practices desperately needed. She emphasizes a boutique approach—customized solutions rather than cookie-cutter packages. "We're not trying to be everything to everyone," Medina said. "We tailor our services to each practice's needs." Their referral-based business model speaks to client satisfaction, and Medina believes in letting the work speak for itself rather than locking clients into long-term contracts. She also sees AI integration as the future but stresses that the human touch in patient care will never be replaceable.

Dr. Jim Arnold Dr. Jim Arnold has spent over 25 years building, scaling, and transforming dental practices into high-profit businesses. He's been the seller, the buyer, and the corporate affiliate—and that experience taught him there's a third option most dentists never consider. Jim built, scaled, and sold three fee-for-service practices, each achieving 31% EBITDA—well above industry benchmarks. He's played a role in over $100 million in practice transactions and helped grow four DSOs through strategic acquisitions. Along the way, he earned the National Doctors' Choice Award, the only dentist selected nationwide by his peers. Now, as founder of Foundation Dental Alliance, Jim is helping dentists escape what he calls "the insurance treadmill." The organization provides networking, growth strategies, and education for dentists looking to scale smarter and exit on their own terms. "Fee-for-service isn't just a payment model," Jim explained. "It's a freedom model." Foundation Dental Alliance operates through six pillars: Leadership and Identity, Clinical Excellence, Business Systems, Patient Communication, Marketing and Growth, and Wealth and Legacy Planning. Jim's mastermind groups connect dentists with top industry mentors, and his luxury dental retreats offer high-impact learning in exclusive destinations. What sets Jim apart is his focus on legacy. He engineers what he calls "continuations, not closings"—transitions where clinical vision survives ownership change.
