Denis Jelcic
Denis Jelcic is an experienced sports administrator, business owner, and community mentor with a career spanning more than 30 years. As General Manager of the Inline Skating Club of America, he has helped establish one of New Jersey’s leading indoor sports venues. His involvement with the New York Rangers Fan Engagement Department and Madison Square Garden reflects a lasting dedication to sports, service, and community connection. Denis combines hands-on experience with a firm grasp of recreation management, league operations, and player development. His contributions extend beyond the office, including officiating high school games, coaching youth teams, and enhancing fan engagement at the professional level. His consistent presence in both local and large-scale sports settings highlights a lifelong commitment to the field. Denis began working at the age of 14, balancing part-time and full-time jobs while actively volunteering in sports. These early experiences taught him the value of hard work, responsibility, and teamwork. After college, he stepped into a leadership role in a recreational facility, marking the beginning of his career in sports management. Denis earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City in June 1998 and later completed coursework in Education Administration at Montclair State University. This academic background supported his ability to lead programs and manage teams effectively. Between 1990 and 2000, he coached, officiated, and directed programs at Cliffside Park Recreation in New Jersey. He launched an inline roller hockey program, scheduled games, and handled day-to-day operations. In 1999, he became General Manager of the Inline Skating Club of America. From 2014 to 2020, he served as Assistant to the Athletic Director at Lyndhurst Public Schools. In 2020, he joined Madison Square Garden, first supporting uniform distribution and later working as a hockey instructor in the Rangers Fan Engagement Department.
