Election Postcards / e-Voting
Voting begins on February 2. Election postcards were mailed to homeowners on January 26, with each households’ unique link to the e-ballot.
Upon receiving your personal election postcard in the mail, you may use the camera on your cellphone, iPad or similar device to use the unique QR code on the postcard to access the electronic ballot and submit your vote. Alternatively, you may type the unique URL link into a web browser on a computer or phone/tablet to access the electronic ballot and submit your vote.
Do not share your postcard. The postcard QR code and URL link are unique to each homeowner/lot. Only one vote can be submitted per lot.
If you do not receive a “Vote Today” postcard, or if you misplace it, please contact Linda Corsey at lcorsey@AssociatedAsset.com or call 520-485-0200 to request a duplicate.
Paper Ballots
A paper ballot can also be requested from the front desk at the Saguaro Center during regular business hours. Completed ballots may be deposited in the locked ballot box in the Center or mailed to Linda Corsey at: Linda Corsey, 2026 Election, 14085 N. Del Webb Trail, Marana, AZ 85658.

The community is shared with several wild animals. Yes, that does mean that we all must deal with animal scat! However, to have Complete Landscaping take care of this for the community would require a full-time dedicated person to walk the community. Also, animal scat cannot be disposed of with normal trash or landscape trimmings, and it is an additional cost.

The recent decision on our arbitration with Pulte was a huge accomplishment for our community. We will be able to fix the Saguaro Center so it doesn’t leak, repair community walls, address the pool chemical storage situation and resolve the sidewalk and drainage problems in the Grand Canyon, among other problems and distractions from the beauty of our community.
The ILC has decided that they will not be contracting Complete Landscaping to take on this additional responsibility. Of course, if you are so motivated, feel free to help the community by taking on this task. The community would most likely appreciate your help with this matter.
We all owe a debt of gratitude to the Arbitration Committee which includes Mark Gallardo, Adrienne Quinn, Mark Martell, and Mark Johnson the committee Chairman. Mark Johnson’s expertise proved invaluable in delivering this win for us.

Internal Revenue Service (IRS)
70-604 Information
During the Annual Membership election process, the Del Webb at Dove Mountain Community Association (DWDMCA) now asks each Member to vote to execute an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) 70-604 Revenue Ruling election. This is for the purpose of giving the Board of Directors for the Association the authority to decide, based upon recommendations from the Association’s CPA, whether to file income tax return Form 1120 or 1120-H at year-end.
If the Board wishes to elect an 1120 filing, after discussion with the DWDMCA CPA, it may only do so if the membership has made an IRS 70-604 election. That election allows excess operating income (funds not spent by year-end) to be carried forward to the following year. Where utilized, the ruling allows the Association to take advantage of the Internal Revenue Code Section 277 and Revenue Ruling 70-604, where excess of Membership income over expenses may be applied against future expenses. This may result in potential tax savings of the Association.
Our tax experts have strongly advised DWDMCA to have the Membership execute an IRS 70-604 Revenue Ruling election on the ballot annually since it is only valid for the current year. The ballot that you will receive for the annual election will include an IRS 70604 Revenue Ruling election option.
Therefore, the DWDMCA Board of Directors ask that when you receive your ballot, even if you choose not to vote for any candidates, please submit a mailin/drop-off ballot, or utilize the Election Buddy system electronically, to vote YES to approve the IRS 70-604 Revenue Ruling for DWDMCA.
There is no downside to voting YES.

Homeowner Artist Spotlight: Alicia Schilder
Alicia is currently part of two exhibitions at The Overlook Restaurant in the Oro Valley Community Center, showing simultaneously.
She will also be teaching a workshop on February 26 from 1-4pm at Absolutely Art Gallery and Gifts, 16701 N Oracle Rd. This will be making an accordion book, entailing 8 miniature fan-folded works of art to keep as a work of art or share like a greeting card. Flex Leg Muscles
The top servers in pro tennis all have one thing in common: they flex their leg muscles just before they stretch up to hit the ball.
Most club players, on the other hand, are too stiff and upright when they serve. As a result, their serves lack power since the arm and shoulder are forced to do all of the work. The next time you practice your serve, flex your legs as you drop the racquet head behind your back. This flexing action will allow you to use your leg muscles to spring upward and stretch out fully as you accelerate the racquet head through contact with the ball.
So for a more fluid and powerful serve, don't forget to flex your leg muscles!
