Dear all members of Deloitte Vietnam,
“Making an impact that matters begins and ends with our people. It is your hard work, knowledge, commitment, and ingenuity that power everything we do.” – Punit Renjen, Deloitte Global CEO
To make an impact that matters to clients & communities, we need to start with our people – our invaluable resources. I’m happy that in the FY22 Global Talent Experience, most of you agree that you continuously have the opportunity to develop yourself through projects and roles.
However, your potential is greatest untapped assets – that’s why we keep finding ways to unleash your potential and help you design a work life that works for you.
Reskilling/Upskilling: We have evolved our approach to learning and development, with greater focus on promotion agility and advancing skills that you want, and our clients need. You’re encouraged to own your development and get started on your individual development plan with learning, coaching and development programs such as Global Milestones, Coaching for Growth, Coaching for Performance and CURA, etc.
Building the hybrid workplace: Flexible work offers solutions that help many of you maintain a healthy balance between work & life, while making strides in your careers. No matter where you choose to work – a green office or a cozy café, you still can stay connected with others when our purpose is still the threads that binds us.
Cultivating the ALLIN culture: Our global strategy - ALL IN emphasizes a workplace culture founded on respect and characterized by inclusive behaviors and an appreciation for diversity in its many forms. ALLIN certainly serves as foundation for you to be your true self and thrive.
Prioritizing mental health: We know that our professionals cannot be at their best when experiencing mental ill health without the ability to tell someone or access the right support, nor can they unlock their full potential unless their working environment supports good mental health for all. Therefore, significant investments in their mental wellbeing have been implemented, from offering stronger mental health benefits to enhancing flexible work arrangements.
“Unleashing the potential” – the topic that Green Magazine volume 15 choose to review 2022 & look forward to 2023 has offered many layers of meaning. It’s the time we cherish – reflect – and plan for 2023, to unleash our potential, upgrade our skill & capability, to see more opportunity, to generate more motivation for ourselves, to continue making an impact that matters to the firm & the society. Let’s cheers to a year full of potential to be unleashed.
Best Regards, Pham Van Thinh Chief Executive OfficerUnleashing the potential to evolve, Deloitte Vietnam has reached remarkable milestones in many aspects in 2022. Thriving further in the 4th decade of operation, Deloitte Vietnam continues to make an impact that matters to our clients, our partners, the business community and the society.
Many businesses have responded and thrived through the Covid-19 during the past two years, in which Corporate culture plays as one of the most important factors. "Culture is the only thing missing when a business grows, the only thing remaining when a business is in crisis, and the only thing that competitors cannot replicate," said Madame Thanh, our Chairperson. We are fortunate to have nurtured a strong cultural background spanning over 177 years globally and over 30 years in Vietnam. A diverse and inclusive cultural foundation, promoting equal gender values, respecting each other’s unique personalities, thereby forming colorful and solid pieces for our organizational development.
While sustainable development is rising global trend, Deloitte has already launched numerous programs such as WorldClimate or convey various messages about climate change, and our 2022 calendar is one of the effective communication to the market.
“Sustainable development is not an easy journey – one with unexplored parts even, but it is what every business has to walk on. With consistency, persistence and determination from businesses themselves, especially pioneering businesses with the support from associations and consulting firms, I believe we can create a business community of sustainable development.” - Madame Thanh confirmed.
In addition to focusing on sustainable development from within, Deloitte sees this as an opportunity to evaluate, accelerate and amplify reputation to our clients and partners. Deloitte, with the mission of pioneering and making impacts that matter to the community, is constantly developing services other than Auditing such as Strategy Consulting, Financial Consulting, Tax Consulting, Risks Advisory to meet the needs of the business community in Vietnam, while keeping up with the pace of market changes and challenges. Not only was the launch of Deloitte Private with the key program "Best Managed Companies" in 2021 a success, but the establishment of the Sustainability & Climate Change (S&C) at Deloitte Vietnam is also a practical action to support businesses in developing sustainably, promoting ESG and the circular economy.
Ms. Tran Thuy Ngoc, Deputy CEO cum Sustainability and Climate Change Leader of Deloitte Vietnam, shared: “Deloitte has not only implemented the WorldClimate strategy globally to promote climateresponsible choices, but also within our organization and impact to our stakeholders in the larger ecosystem. Sustainable development has become a main focus of Vietnam with many national decisions and strategies being made, as well as the Prime Minister's commitment at COP26. With the launch of the S&C, we hope we’ll be able to support businesses and stakeholders on the journey to green and sustainable development by providing specialized and specifically designed services."
Inheriting and promoting the core values, the green dot of Deloitte has become a bridge connecting the community with the pioneer of the industry. Since the season 8, the Lighting Up Your Future (LUYF) scholarship, a flagship program of WorldClass, has been expanding to reach more students across the country from a variety of majors, ethnicities, and, most importantly, ones with disabilities. 10 years - a decade of igniting light, LUYF season 10 awarding ceremony was held in 5 different locations all over the country for the first time. 2022 is the year for us to develop more key CSR programs closely associated with the globally spirit and objectives of WorldClass and WorldClimate programs.
“Continuous effort not strength or intelligence is the key to unlocking our potential.” – Winston Churchill. Standing still is not an option for Deloitte. Deloitte people have been developing to always adapt to the challenges of times, to overcome limits, to contribute diligently to the journey of development of Deloitte Vietnam for many years to come.
A decade of transformation and potential is awaiting ahead, let's awaken your power - unleash the potential!
Work has been in a state of flux in recent years, a transformation driven by powerful forces of disruption: demographic shifts, the changing nature of careers, and relentless advances in technology. When the global coronavirus pandemic hit, it pushed the pace of change into overdrive— and make us think about how to prepare for the future of work.
The future of work is normally framed in terms of three deeply interconnected dimensions: work, the workforce, and the workplace. Where many have focused on the technological implications of these dimensions, Deloitte believes the focus should be on designing a future of work that is essentially human. Humanizing the future of work is not about putting people ahead of machines. Instead, it’s about creating an environment where organizations can optimize human potential in today’s technology-driven world. It is about empowering workers with choice over what they do, unleashing their interests and passions to organizational strategy and needs.
We see three significant shifts for work, the workforce, and the workplace, as outlined below:
Work is not just a series of steps or outputs. Work is what motivates and inspires people. Work is the center point for creativity and innovation. Work conveys purpose and meaning and builds human connection, bringing people together to get things done.
In re-architecting work, we must start by acknowledging that humans don’t work the same way machines do. Humans work in a more fluid manner, responding through movement, momentum, creativity, and exploration, often changing course and tactics to achieve new outcomes and make possible new aspirations. Organizations can re-architect work to unlock human potential by aligning with how humans actually think and engage rather than optimizing a robotic process flow.
The key to success going forward is tethering the unleashed workforce to the organizational mission. By building a sense of connection, workers will accelerate and enhance their ability to contribute their full potential in a meaningful way to the overall organizational objective. The need to enable workers to fulfill their potential is clear. How can organizations know the true capabilities and potential of their workforce beyond the bullets of their job description?
Unleashing the workforce means challenging how we think about the workforce itself. As the pandemic has highlighted, workers are more than the work that they do; they are humans with stories, drive, and limitless potential for flexibility. With this mindset, we need to look beyond the skills for which individuals were hired and instead focus on the workforce’s potential, capabilities, motivation, and capacities.
As COVID-19 has now made clear, the workplace is not limited to the physical building, plant, or office. But we need to go even further. We need to recognize that the workplace also includes the organization’s design, processes, tools, policies, and ways of working, as well as the ways in which leaders develop and foster culture through expectations around how to collaborate, engage, and relate to each other. Successfully achieving such a workplace depends on viewing the organization as both a structural construct that needs to be engineered for efficiency and a social construct that needs to be nurtured to bring out the best in people. To embrace adaptability in the workplace, we must build a nuanced understanding of the workforce’s preferences, as well as the environments in which they are working. Only then can we create a work environment that will optimize their potential and contribution, empowering all workers with the tools, technologies, and culture to execute and grow.
Deloitte has already implemented “New ways of working policy” to adapt to the new era of work. Flexi work arrangements will be a way of life, although office spaces will not completely disappear. Workplaces will be designed to stimulate creativity, collaboration, wellbeing and highperformance.
At Deloitte, we are leading the transformation of work in professional services, changing how work is done, where work is done and the composition of our workforce. Deloitte believes the future of work will be more productive and provide an enhanced experience for our people and our clients. We expect most of our workforce will follow a new way of working; being more flexible about where work is done at client sites, at Deloitte offices, or virtually.
Deloitte understands that redefining the human dimension of work is not a destination. It is a way of transforming and evolving with a strategic focus on work and the organization’s purpose, meaning, and value. By shifting the way we think about work, the workforce, and workplaces and by focusing on rearchitecting work, unleashing human potential, and adapting the workplace environment—organizations can build resilience, capitalize on their ability to evolve with dynamic stability, and start to thrive. This evolution is a continuous process, without a single point of entry. Each organization will face its own set of challenges and opportunities to accelerate forward. But the destination is clear: a future designed around the human dimension of work, one that promises to unleash the energy and endless possibilities of human potential and, in turn, create lasting value for workers, their organizations, and society at large.

Ever since we were young
We were determined to be a part Deloitte

All the troubles, all the great things
Group 1 continues to step forward Excellent audit procedures
Tools are getting better Audit innovation
We all receive good compliments
The future will be in our hands
Because Deloitte is a place full of talent
We will show great dedication
Until beard is gray, hair is long, and eyes are dark
Before writing an article for Green Magazine, I was confused about what to write and what to share. My original intention for this article was nothing special, maybe just a rain of compliments for the company's culture, new ways of working,. However, I was inspired with new ideas when I read "Patience towards the future", published by Deloitte Hanoi in September 2021.
I have a group of colleagues at Deloitte. We sit and work together in the office on days when we don't have to go to clients, we learn and guide each other on work parts. We talk during breaks, listen to each other's lamentation when burning out. We took cute photos at company parties. We invite each other to karaoke after work. We go to the cinema together and enjoy the best movie. We are not only colleagues, but we are also good friends who share beautiful moments with each other. Before becoming an employee of Deloitte, I rarely found myself holding a micro and singing for school or class events. However, after 6 months at Deloitte, I have been entrusted with the task of singing and dancing for every event. I have to give thanks for the company's loudspeaker, along with the singer companions that made me think that I sing well. Not only singing but also dancing, cheering, writing, or acting. Exciting experiences and opportunities give me stories, and good memories at Deloitte. One day I stayed late at the office. Everyone suddenly gathered around the Manager's desk area to sing karaoke, and listen to live music. And then, Mr.Nam played the guitar, Mr. Nguyen sang the accompaniment, and the rest of the Managers sang backing: "Living in life requires a heart, for what do you know?" To have fun, to love life, even if you are busy, even if you stay in the office until 8 or 9 pm, you can still be happy, love life, and sing songs.
Besides my family and close friends, the Deloitte office is always the place where I receive extremely warm affection. I feel the enthusiasm of colleagues who help each other, like brothers and sisters with their younger siblings; I feel the company's care for employees' well-being through many programs and events; I feel everyone's recognition. Deloitte is a working environment that I belong to, where I feel comfortable and confident, in line with Deloitte's inclusive spirit.
The cold of Hanoi, a cup of hot tea, a quiet space, and endless contemplation is the perfect combo of a cold winter day to look back on the past.
Hanoi's cold weather is also a sign of a busy season coming. This year will be my first busy season as an employee. As responsibility increases, so does the pressure. Hopefully, the knowledge and skills from more than a month of training, along with the practical knowledge and experience in the past few months, will help me and other friends smoothly overcome the first busy season as Deloitte staff. And when the busy season is over, we will be more confident, more mature, and have more time together to share the interesting experiences of this busy season.
December has come with the first monsoon winds filling every corner of the streets. Deloitte is filled with pine trees with colorful tinsel, Christmas wreaths on the door or pretty little reindeer placed on the table. Everyone is looking forward to enjoying this Christmas holiday before the upcoming busy season, looking forward to giving Christmas cards and presents to their loved one. For Deloitte people, we feel like every day is Christmas because at work, Santa Deloitte gives us gifts and excitement of the new day.
The first gift to be found under the Christmas tree is, not something extravagant or magnificent, but extremely attractive - Knowledge. Knowledge is the eye of passion and the navigator of the soul. I still remember the day when I first joined Deloitte, through observation, I was surprised by the talent, ingenuity and professionalism of my colleagues. However, I did not feel discouraged, because I know that in the near future, the best gifts of knowledge will come to me. Indeed, professional training programs, knowledge and experience sharing sessions have equipped me with a solid knowledge base and broadened my horizons. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in a sharing session by Madam Thanh, where I understand more about the value of knowledge and people. Knowledge becomes power only when applied. At Deloitte, I have had opportunities to work and experience, which is challenging but also worthwhile. Deloitte is like a beacon of light reminding me of professional ethics. With knowledge in my head and morality in my heart, I always keep this in mind “Doing the right thing, especially when no one is watching”.
Not only cultivating my professional knowledge, Deloitte also gives me a great gift to help nourish my soul. To me, the most important factor for an employee to feel attached to their Company is teamwork, the support between individuals as well as the group. Deloitte's culture is based on the spirit that "We are all in this together". The Company cares about each individual, prioritizing fairness, respect and welfare for everyone through welcoming new members, welcome kit and publications filled with emotions that make the recipients feel welcome, the Dhours that recharge energy for Deloitte people, to get through the busy season, or departmental activities that help people understand and connect with each other better. Each employee is arranged with a mentor who will guide them in career development and share experiences in both work and life. Deloitte made me believe that the Company was always there to listen and support whenever I need it. Deloitte encourages people to care about each other through small actions, which is key to a happy and positive workplace.
It is really meaningful to do a job that I love, to gain knowledge and skills, but it will be more fulfilling if that job gives me the opportunity to create value for the community. And again, as Santa Claus, Deloitte brought me the gift I always wanted. Not only bringing value to myself and my family, Deloitte also gave me the opportunity to bring value to the community. Every year, the Company has meaningful activities that create positive impacts for society. It would be remiss not to mention events such as the Blood Donation Program, Lighting Up the Future Scholarship Fund. During the positive and persistent 10-year journey, these activities have lit up the dreams of difficult but energetic students - just as the value Deloitte has always pursued – to make impacts that matter. Deloitte offers scholarships to help students reduce financial burden, organizes sharing sessions and mentoring programs, which not only help students have a clearer orientation about the career they will pursue, help their potentials grow, and help them succeed in life. It is also an opportunity for Deloitte people to have meaningful experiences when visiting universities to visit students, share knowledge and skills with them through talks. Khanh Huyen - one of Deloitte's youth union members shared, "After my journey to Da Nang to give scholarships to students, I was honored and happy to have the opportunity to participate in the program. I feel energized by the student's talent and energy.” Sharing and empathy are probably the most important values that we received after the program.
Big thanks to Deloitte for bringing something new, warm, and full of anticipation every morning I wake up.
I am a green dot
Tell you the new things What great stories! What lovely days!
The funny office
My colleagues’s friendly Everyday I roll to Dot is rounder and rounder

On the training course
I'm fatter again Because of knowledge And lots of soft skills
I love you so much Giant green dot Teach me many things Give me experiences
Now I'm still small, Now I'm still fresh, Get bigger everyday Magical green dot.
Every season when the cold wind hits, I get excited about having a perfect and warm evening at home, next to a cup of hot chocolate and a scented candle jar. But this year, I started an adult life with Deloitte, so the excitement is different. Stepping out of my comfort zone, I feel like "The Little Match Girl" in Andersen's fairy tale. I have the matchsticks to express my wishes here.
With the characteristics of the auditing industry, we have opportunity to change working locations frequently. We often combine working and exploring the culture and cuisine of the provinces where we set foot. This not only helps reduce stress but also helps to bring team members together. Hopefully, while working at Deloitte, I will be able to travel to a lot of new places.
At Deloitte, we have a lot of different ways to accumulate knowledge every day. We self-teach ourselves the new knowledge necessary for the job. We learn from talented colleagues by working together. We participate in offline training sessions and Elearning courses on working skills and soft skills on Cura. Deloitte has an abundant knowledge base in diverse fields for you. Hopefully, I will learn more knowledge during my time working here.
If my dream of becoming an auditor brought me here, people are the reason why I stay here. A fair working environment, with dedicated and responsible people. With each different job, I get to interact with different colleagues. Although we have never worked together before, we still easily become close friends and are willing to share our working and living experiences together. I have made close friends here. My biggest wish is to meet more good people, and to become such a good person myself.
We work better when we are dedicated to our work, and when we make the company our 'home', we work better and have a happier mood. We are not only co-workers, whose conversations are confined to small talks social stories, but we can freely talk to each other about work and life. Sometimes, we complain to each other about our hectic schedules, and we also do not forget to tell each other about our daily little happiness. Hopefully the "home" that I trust and have chosen will be my shelter for a long time, and I hope that you can also consider this as your "home", because after all, home is where the storm stops behind the door.
What do you wish for this Christmas?
Article from the "Nguoi toi yeu, Nghe toi yeu" contest” Group 5, Audit & Assurance HCMC
Dear girl, Do you remember your one-time idol your cousin was an auditor at a Big 4 audit firm named Deloitte? Your impression at that time was the green dot next to the word "Deloitte". Why the green dot? What beauty does that symbol bring to attract the girl so much?
After 4 years of college and becoming an auditor at Deloitte, you still did not understand the sense of familiarity that the green dot in Deloitte brought —what the green dot meant to yourself. After 6 years have passed and you have entered the Audit Manager role, you have just reflected on a few things about the past year: the path you chose, the growth of yourself, and the green dot. The antique-style café that you always choose , where tables and chairs are dusty, along with Trinh Cong Son's music take you into thoughts about the hidden meaning of the green dot. Then you realize that the green dot isn't something unreachable , but rather your best friend.
Challenges, stumbles, and hardships once this busy season has passed, another busy season has come. But even so, the green dot in you remains shinny a green dot that doesn't mind hardships, a green dot that doesn't mind hard work. That green dot always feels proud of my achivements, professional goals, and the way I go without regrets. That green dot is always proud of the services it provides because this industry always creates true values for society. Deloitte's slogan is "Making an impact that matters"—and, you guys, the green dots in Times Squares always create such good value.
A quote from a senior brother in the team who told us: "Thank you for choosing an audit, for choosing Deloitte to start your journey to pursue your passion, create value, and bring trust to the community." As a result, I hope you will proudly continue with this path; you should be "happy while being busy" rather than "busy to be happy"; please maintain the flaming momentum and enthusiasm to work hard, learn a lot, and pass on a lot of "inheritance" to the next generation. I believe that the fire of your passion and enthusiasm has been, is, and will continue to burn because that fire always converges on 3 essential elements (Fire = Heat + Oxygen + Fuel). "Happiness in busyness" may just simply mean working with joy, actively participating in activities other than work to bring excitement and new energy to yourself.
No matter what happens in the future, no matter how difficult it can be, always remember that you are a green dot. Be proud to be Deloitte's green dot, and be proud to be an auditor.
How should a new college graduate go about choosing a job? While start-ups are trending amongst young generations, should one choose a more stable job at an established company or risk going following the start-up movement? This is a dilemma many students face walking out the gates of their university for the final time, perhaps because of the many uncertainties and changes in life. However, should you really hesitate when an opportunity arises from Deloitte, especially given the chance to be a member of Deloitte AUD1. We chose the start-up at Deloitte.
Why is obtaining position at Deloitte synonymous to a Start-up?
You must be wondering why we see getting a position at Deloitte is like a Start-up. Allow us to explain. What are the characteristics of a Start-up? The 3 essential components of a Start-up are capital, time, and effort. To become a Deloitte’s member, we invested our effort in ourselves throughout the four years of college. Even through difficult early years, we endured these valuable experiences and gained successes as young adults. For us, a Start-up is not simply defined as a business in its early development stages. Instead, we envision a Start-up as an opportunity for self-improvement and growth. At Deloitte, you will experience the joy and excitement of learning something new every day.
ToobtainawonderfulopportunitysuchasoneatDeloitte, wehavealwaystried to make the most out of our time and put effort into our learning such as with our education in university. As different individuals, we are still constantly striving to learn and practice in our own ways. Some choose to study for internationalcertificatestodevelopspecializationintheirfields.Somechooseto participate in extracurricular activities, as clubs, part-time jobs, or enroll in competitions to build their soft skills. Others choose to read novels or documents to develop in-depth knowledge. Any which way, we are all aiming towards one common goal that is the Start-up at Deloitte. And with our shared goal, we try our best to utilize our spare time to prepare for this Start-up. As a result, the turning point for this "Start-up" is the pride attained holding the envelopecontainingthe"OfferLetter"thatwehavelongedfor. Andwe,started-upatDeloittelikethat…
Withalltheinvestmentandtrade-offs,wethoughtweweregivingtoomuchand wondered if our startup was successful and on the right track or just giving but getting nothing in return. But as time goes by, the things we receive in return are priceless things that we ourselves think will be experiences that you cannot buy no matter how much money you have. From meeting more people, from the relationship with colleagues in the dynamic and youthful working environment to the relationship with customers from a variety of industries. Before the start-up at Deloitte, each of us was just a fresh graduate, with only theories with little soft skills in a narrow social environment from family to school. Entering Start-up, starting a business for ourselves, we have grown and matured thanks to the culture of "coaching" - which is the sharing of work experience as well as professional knowledge between superiors and lower levels. Everyone is always ready to take time to answer questions from their staff enthusiastically whenever needed, even during the classic "busy season". Thanks to them, we went from being shy interns who did not dare to ask, to nowmoreconfident, readytoaskquestionswhenevernecessary.
More than that, being raised and getting mature in Deloitte's professional working culture also makes us gradually become a better version every day. Professionalism is reflected not only in the way of working within the audit team but also communicating and working with customers as well. From being strict with yourself to be able to adhere to the deadline set by the team so as not to affect the overall result to prepare carefully before communicating directly with customers, ensure that the information exchanged is selected and make a good impression on customer. Everything, from specialized knowledge to step-bystep working papers, to how to communicate with customers, … we are all trained professionally and carefully through courses that not only stop at fresh level but also continuously at any levels in the company. Learning at Deloitte is a non-stop process.
Start-up at Deloitte was not just dry that we gained specialized knowledge and experience and then lost ourselves and completely dedicated ourselves to the job. “Work-life balance” is always the criterion that Deloitte directs us to, an element that the company thinks we need to focus on and must not forget. Thousands of extra-curricular activities such as volunteering, "Lighting up the Future" scholarship fundraiser, and so on. sports activities such as Deloitte Triathlon - cycling tournament, VACPA Football Cup, Deloitte Premium Badminton League, ... and even D.Esport along with countless bonding sessions not only within Groups but also among Audit teams.
And there are other uncoutable values that we have been receiving from Deloitte. If you ask whether our start-up has been successful, we can confidently affirm that working at Deloitte is a successful start-up step in our life, in our audit career that we have chosen. We, AUD1 have chosen Deloitte to start-up, how about you?
- We are a close-knit group, because when we are together, we are always happy! -
Working together is a very common thing, but we are happy with the ordinary things these days. With our comrades by our side, we are strong enough to say that no matter how "difficult to breathe" the job is, we can overcome it because the teammates around us will always be our "oxygen tanks".
If you work hard, you have to play hard, right? Indeed, our team always has such passionate moments. Those are the dates with delicious food and the days when we hug and sing our hearts out. When like-minded souls gather and relax together, it is one of the best experiences in the world.
Our team is always actively participating in the company's activities. Remember when there was a walking tournament? Our team gathered in the park to go together. Going together, everyone walks effectively, just over 1 hour in the morning and everyone already exceeds the target of 8000 steps per day. It is true that we can accomplish great things when we work together. Take care of each other Surely everyone is always looking forward to the birthdays of the team members. At that time, we created a birthday party together to make it so special, and then we discussed together this year's delicious birthday cake. I wish every day was the birthday of a team member, because it is so fun and warm.
Because of all of the above, I just want to close with one sentence: "Give me your hand; let's be together forever, TP Team!"
We challenge you to solve the tricky math quiz with 3 variables: "Deloitte cap", "Deloitte sweater", "Deloitte tumbler" to find the value of secret “?”.
Let’s get started and hurry to send your answer to HR Department email (hr-vietnam@deloitte.com). The first person with the correct answer from each office will receive a special gift from us!
Wishing you a merry Christmas and happy new year 2023 filled with successes, health and happiness.
