“Every good and perfect gift is from above...”

- James 1:17

This past year, we celebrated the 75th anniversary of our school, and we paused to remember the Lord’s enduring faithfulness across generations. Seventy-five years ago, faithful men and women stepped forward in obedience, believing that Christ-centered education would shape not only minds, but hearts for eternity. Today, we stand on that foundation, strengthened by God’s grace and sustained by His provision.

Your generosity is part of that continuing story.

Through your support, you have helped carry forward a legacy that began decades ago. You have invested in the spiritual formation of students who are learning to view the world through a biblical lens, to pursue excellence with humility, and to understand their lives as a calling from God.

Because of your faithfulness:

• Students are growing in wisdom and stature, grounded in truth.

• Faculty are equipped to disciple, mentor, and teach with conviction.

• Families are supported by a community committed to Christ.

• Our mission continues with renewed clarity and boldness for the next 75 years.

Anniversaries invite reflection, but they also call us forward. As we look back with gratitude, we look ahead with hope. The same God who sustained this school through seasons of challenge and growth remains faithful today. As we are reminded in Philippians 1:6, “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.”

We give thanks for those who came before us and for you, partners in this sacred work of Christian education. Your gifts represent prayerful stewardship, shared conviction, and belief in a mission that extends far beyond a single year.

On behalf of our Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, and students, thank you for walking with us through this historic year. May the Lord bless you richly as, together, we continue building upon this faithful foundation for generations to come.

With gratitude and in Christ,

Delaware County Christian School commits to being a good steward of the generosity shared from members of our greater DC Community. DC is blessed to present a strong statement of operations for the 2024-25 fiscal year.

GOLD Club

In its fourth year, the GOLD Club (Graduates of the Last Decade) invited the Class of 2025 to join with commitments, pledging support to the Fund for DC. We are pleased by the generosity of this class and welcome them as they join members of the classes of 2022, 2023, and 2024 in the GOLD Club. Although this program was developed in 2022, we encourage graduates of the last ten years who may also want to become members to consider committing in increments representative of their graduating year. Thank you to members of the classes of 2022, 2023, and 2024 who made payments towards their pledges between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025.

What is EITC?

For many, the concept may be hard to believe. Is it really possible to redirect your PA State Tax dollars to Delaware County Christian School and impact the lives of students? Does the Commonwealth really allow this to happen?

Since 2001, Pennsylvania’s EITC program has allowed businesses and individuals to lower their tax bills by donating to private schools, scholarship organizations, Pre-K programs, and other educational enrichment initiatives. The bulk of the tax credits are reserved for donors who give to scholarship organizations that provide financial aid to children attending Pre-K-12 private schools.

For businesses and individuals who participate, it is an opportunity to receive up to a 90% tax credit. This is a win-win not just for businesses and individuals but for students who are offered scholarships that give them an alternative to public schools. This program allows donors to know exactly where their tax dollars are being spent while receiving a generous tax credit, opening up doors to students for alternative educational opportunities.

TURNING PA TAX DOLLARS INTO SCHOLARSHIPS

"As we’ve grown in our walk with the Lord, He’s brought us many chances to give, as I’m sure He has for you. However, few of them have been as unique as the EITC program. God’s word tells us to 'give to Caesar what is Caesar’s' and so we pay our taxes with obedience, though not always with joy. With EITC, ‘Caesar’ gives us the freedom to redirect our tax payment from our PA state tax bill to DC so that they can provide scholarships directly to the scholarship fund for those who qualify, within the state scholarship parameters.

At first, this seemed too good to be true, and it took some research on my part to trust the process. But as someone who’s participated, I can tell you whether it’s from personal tax liability or business tax liability, so long as it’s in Pennsylvania, you can redirect 90% of your PA state tax liability directly to DC and the other 10% is deductible as any other gift would be.

Stewardship, Generosity, and Christian Education

A guiding phrase in my senior Apologetics and Christian Thought class is All of Christ for All of Life. This truth stretches far beyond the classroom, it should characterize our entire lives. A profound realization that emerges from this truth is that we are stewards of our lives, not the source. All of life is stewardship. This is one of the first roles God gave humanity in the beginning pages of Scripture. We participate in His work as stewards of what He has made and what He has given us. This applies to every aspect of our lives, including our wealth and resources.

Deuteronomy 8:17-18 reminds us of this truth: “You may say to yourself, ‘My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.’ But remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth.” The Apostle Peter adds: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms” (1 Peter 4:10). God designed the world so that we, as His stewards, actively participate in His ongoing work, making a real and lasting impact on His creation. One author describes this God-given role of stewardship as the responsibility to care for, protect, maintain, and beautify God’s creation.

In a very tangible way, Christian education can be seen as a form of stewardship, particularly in shaping the minds and hearts of children. In Christian education, there is a caring for, protecting, maintaining, and beautifying of God’s creation, his image bearers, and by God’s grace, his covenant children. As Christian families partnering with DC and together trusting God’s faithfulness, we’re called to wisely steward our resources for the benefit of those students entrusted to us. We are the recipients of faithful stewardship and generosity from families who, more than 75 years ago, envisioned a Christian school in Delaware County. Imagine the continued impact faithful and generous stewards could have on our current children and, Lord willing, the generations yet to come.
