HORSE SPOTLIGHT
Nicolette
Nicolette is this month’s horse spotlight! Nicolette is a 5year-old Standardbred mare. Her registered name is "Badland's Gold", but she never raced. Did you know that Standardbreds are either raced as pacers or trotters?
Nicolette was bred to be a pacer, but she can also trot under saddle.

She was started under saddle at off-site training Advantage Horsemanship with Scott Purdum last summer. Upon returning to DEFHR, Nicolette has been in training to continue her education as she waits to find her forever home! She has even gone on offsite to a local indoor. Her favorite part of the new adventure was seeing herself in the big mirrors along the indoor wall!
Check out a video of it here!
