Faithfully Her Boutique as opened at 5002 Luella Ave. and the owner is Veronica Miner – who also owns Blushed By Grace, which is a few door down in that same retail center Whereas Blushed by Grace is more of a custom shirt/spirit-wear shop, the new Faithfully Her Boutique is a collective of women-owned smallbusiness vendors that sell a variety of beautiful things, including clothing, bows, gifts, jewelry, sweet treats, dog treats, soaps, leather goods and much more.

Texas HB 3042 – Texas Fallen Law Enforcement Officer Day –July 7, 2017 (enacted), effective September 1, 2017.
July 7th was designated Fallen Law Enforcement Officer Day with the signing of House Bill 3042 during the 85th Legislative Session, following the attack on peace officers in Dallas in 2016 which resulted in the death of five officers (July 7, 2017 (enacted), effective September 1, 2017.)
“Today we honor the memory of the brave men and women of law enforcement who died in the line of duty,” said Governor Abbott “I ask that all Texans take a moment to remember these fallen heroes and to pray for their families and communities. This day is a solemn reminder that our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day so that we may be safe. The state of Texas is forever grateful to those officers who lost their lives and to all our men and women in blue”
Do you ever wonder where you should stop your vehicle if you get pulled over by the police? Hopefully you won’t ever have to deal with this situation, but here are some tips if you do:
- On a residential street, you can stop anywhere to the right side of the road without blocking someone’s driveway. Even if you are almost home, just stop as soon as possible to the right side of the street Do not keep driving until you reach your house Stay inside your vehicle unless the officer asks you to get out Do not exit the vehicle without being asked, because police officers might think you’re trying to evade
- FYI, you can get stopped in your own driveway If you do, remain in your vehicle, along with all the occupants, until the police officer concludes the traffic stop
- On a major street, pull into a parking lot to the right. East Blvd, Georgia Ave, Center St, Pasadena Blvd, and Spencer Hwy are examples of major streets. If you are not near a parking lot, pull off onto a neighboring residential side street and stop approximately 50 ft from the intersection to give the police car enough room to stop behind your vehicle
- On the highway, the safest thing to do is exit onto the feeder road and stop to the right side of the feeder. If you are unable to exit the highway, you can pull onto the right shoulder You can turn on your flashers so the police officer knows your intention to stop
- During night time, if you prefer to stop at a well-lit location, make sure your flashers are on to indicate you have the intention to stop and not evade
Notice that all the tips above said to pull to the RIGHT and not the left Unless you are directed by a police officer to do otherwise, pull to the right

In order to protect yourself and your belongings from housebreaks, the Deer Park Police Department encourages you to utilize the following tips: (A Teltschik, Records Specialist)
• Document serial numbers of all electronics and take pictures of all valuables Keep this in a safe place to provide to the police in the event you are burglarized
• Try “casing” your own home, at night and during the day Attempt to gain access to your home when the doors and windows are locked and “secure” (Make sure you have some identification on you in case your neighbors call the police)
• ALWAYS lock your doors and windows Doors should be made from strong wood or metal and should be locked with a deadbolt Install guards on windows that prevent them from being raised more than a few inches
• Leave a light on (perhaps on a timer) when you go away, even for the evening Leave a television or radio on as well
• Install motion sensor lights outside your home and out of reach so burglars cannot unscrew the light Also, buy variable light timers to activate lights in your home
• NEVER prop open the door or let someone in behind you if you live in an apartment building

Citizens who fill out a House Check Form (PDF) can have their residence checked by a police department employee if they are out of town for at least three days and up to thirty days During their absence, a police department employee inspects the citizen's residence for obvious signs of burglary, mischief or other crimes, as well as any suspicious or subtle signs of criminal activity
