Decomundo denotes unique handmade jewellery made from wood and designed by Ieva VerikaitÄ—. How was DecoMundo jewellery born?.. After graduating from the Vilnius Academy of Arts (Lithuania) in applied graphics in 2004, I worked as an advertising designer for over 10 years, but in the mind I would always return to an old dream of mine of creating jewellery. Such opportunity to dedicate more time to my ideas emerged when I was expecting my son. In late autumn 2010, right before the holiday season, I came across a few plywood pieces unexpectedly and became so fascinated with the variety of their colour and texture that I decided to make something nice for Christmas. A few evenings turned into a few months searching for materials and experimenting before the first DecoMundo jewellery was born. This way, I have found an activity which is very dear to my heart, which affects like meditation and acts as a source of calmness. Every day I am pleased being able to create. It is one of the greatest gifts of life...

What is special about the DecoMundo accessories? They are all hand-made unique pieces of work made from exotic wood (plywood or solid wood) decorated with metal details, strands of natural flax, wooden beads, amber, lava, stones, pearls and ceramics. Every single piece of wood has been processed by hand, i.e. cut, glued, smoothed and impregnated with organic blend of beeswax and coconut oil. Starting with light colourful jewellery made of glued plywood, I added massive solid wood jewellery and leather accessories for men, which are happily chosen by women as well, to the stock a few years ago. And in 2014, jewellery with hand-stamped letters on a metal piece was introduced. To me, it is like a return to the years when I was studying graphics, calligraphy and typography at Kaunas Institute of Arts of the VAA.

What is behind the words â€œCosy. Cute. Natural.â€?? These words take their origin from theÂ feedback received from DecoMundo customers. It must be so perhaps because in general wood is a very warm and natural material that creates cosiness. I try to use as many natural materials as possible for creating accessories.

Why DecoMundo? The name originated when I was on holiday and was searching for inspiration under the hot sun of Spain (mundo in Spanish stands for the world), dreaming of my works travelling around the whole world one day... Dreams come true step by step. The jewellery that I have created found its owners in over twenty countries!.. I have sent the accessories that I have created to Japan, Canada, Malaysia, Australia and other distant countries. That said, Spain is always in my heart. Every time I come to this country it feels like home. Here, everything inspires me: bright colours, spectacular nature, towns breathing the past, delicious food as well as smiley and sincere people. When I start feeling tired, feeling it has become difficult to create, it is time to pack and wander off searching for inspiration. What is more, I could divide DecoMundo jewellery into two categories, the first being of earthy shades, more minimalist, reserved, decorated with natural flax, amber, inspired by the dear Lithuanian nature, seashore, summers spent in an old country house in Suvalkija surrounded by a murmur of old oaks; whereas others being bright and colourful, boho style and inspired by Spain.

Necklaces A wide selection of necklaces, from subtle minimalist pendants, bright, playful jewelery for young girls to chunky exclusive beads, linen necklaces for mature women. Decomundo necklaces are made of leather, metal, strands of natural flax, wood (plywood or solid wood). Decorated with stones, amber, pearls, lava, ceramics and metal details. Lithuanian birch, pine, oak and exotic wood (padouk, wenge, cedar, koto, meranti, sapeli, ipe, garappa, etc.) is used for solid wood beads necklaces manufactoring, they are impregnated with organic blend of beeswax and coconut oil.
