Heading off on a relaxing pool holiday? Lucky you! If you’re not used to having a pool at home, it’s easy to forget about the extra safety steps needed. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with this simple holiday pool checklist to keep everyone happy and safe poolside.
1 Check the pool area • Is the fence at least 1.2 metres high with no gaps that little ones can squeeze through? • Does the gate self-close and latch securely from any angle? • Can you lock the pool gate while not in use, just to be extra safe? • Are there any objects near the fence that can be climbed on (chairs, toys, pot plants etc.)? If so, move them away. • Remove pool toys after use and tidy up any trip hazards or clutter. • Never prop the gate open.
