ThistractorcomplieswiththeEuropeanRegulationsonelectro-magneticemissions.However,interferencemay ariseasaresultofadd-onequipmentwhichmaynotnecessarilymeettherequiredstandards.Assuchinterferencecanresultinseriousmalfunctionoftheunitand/orcreateunsafesituations,youmustobservethefollowing:

• Ensurethateachpieceofnon-NewHollandequipmentfittedtothetractorbearstheCEmark.

• Themaximumpowerofemissionequipment(radio,telephones,etc.)mustnotexceedthelimitsimposed bythenationalauthoritiesofthecountrywhereyouusethetractor.

• Theelectro-magneticfieldgeneratedbytheadd-on systemshouldnotexceed24V/matanytimeandat anylocationintheproximityofelectroniccomponents.

GENERAL

ThisManualhasbeenpreparedtoassistyouinthe correctprocedureforrunning--in,drivingand operatingandforthemaintenanceofyournew tractor.ReadthisManualcarefully.Yourtractoris intendedforuseinnormalandcustomary agriculturalapplications.

Ifatanytimeyourequireadviceconcerningyour tractor,donothesitatetocontactyourNewHolland dealer.Hehasfactorytrainedpersonnel,genuine manufacturers’partsandthenecessaryequipment tocarryoutallyourservicerequirements.

Yourtractorhasbeendesignedandbuilttogive maximumperformance,economyandeaseof operationunderawidevarietyofoperating conditions.Priortodelivery,thetractorwascarefully inspected,bothatthefactoryandbyyourdealerto ensurethatitreachesyouinoptimumcondition.To maintainthisconditionandensuretrouble--free operation,itisimportantthattheroutineservices,as specifiedinSection4ofthisManual,arecarriedout attherecommendedintervals.

CLEANINGTHETRACTOR

Yourtractorisastate-of-the-artmachinewithuser friendlycontrols.Thisshouldbeborneinmindwhen cleaningthetractor,particularlyifusingahigh pressurewasher.Eventhougheveryprecautionhas beentakentosafeguardelectricalcomponentsand connections,thepressuregeneratedbysomeof thesemachinesissuchthatcompleteprotection againstwateringresscannotbeguaranteed.

Whenusingahighpressurewasher,donotstandtoo closetothetractorandavoiddirectingthejetat electroniccomponents,electricalconnections, breathers,seals,fillercaps,etc.Neverdirectacold waterjetatahotengineorexhaust.

Pages1--7to1--14inclusivelisttheprecautionsto beobservedtoensureyoursafetyandthesafetyof others.Readthesafetyprecautionsandfollowthe adviceoffered before operatingthetractor.

FIRST50HOURSERVICE

InSection9,atthebackofthisManual,youwillfind the50--hourservicereports.

Afteryouhaveoperatedthetractorfor50hours,take yourtractor,togetherwiththisManual,toyourdealer. Hewillthenperformthefactoryrecommended50-hourserviceandcompletetheservicereportsheets (pages9--1and9--3).Thefirstsheet(page9--1)isthe dealer’scopyandshouldberemovedbythedealer aftertheservicehasbeencarriedout.Thesecond sheet(page9--3)isyourcopyoftheservice performed. Ensurethatyouandthedealersign bothcopies.

SERVICEPARTS

Itshouldbepointedoutthatgenuinepartshavebeen examinedandapprovedbytheCompany.The installationand/oruseof‘non-genuine’products couldhavenegativeeffectsuponthedesign characteristicsofyourtractorandtherebyaffectit’s safety.TheCompanyisnotliableforanydamage causedbytheuseof‘non--genuine’partsand accessories.Onlygenuinereplacementpartsshould beused.Theuseofnon-genuinepartsmay invalidatelegalapprovalsassociatedwiththis product.

Itisprohibitedtocarryoutanymodificationstothe tractorunlessspecificallyauthorised,inwriting,by theAfterSalesServicedepartmentoftheCompany.

WARRANTY

Yourtractoriswarrantedaccordingtolegalrightsin yourcountryandthecontractualagreementwiththe sellingdealer.Nowarrantyshall,however,applyif thetractorhasnotbeenused,adjustedand maintainedaccordingtotheinstructionsgiveninthe Operator’sManual.

ABOUTTHISMANUAL

ThisManualgivesinformationforuseofthistractor,asintendedandundertheconditionsforeseenbythe manufacturerduringnormaloperationandroutineserviceandmaintenance.

• Normaloperationmeanstheuseofthetractorforthepurposeintendedbythemanufacturerbyanoperator familiarwiththetractorandthemountedortowedequipmentandcomplyingwiththeinformationforoperation andsafepractices,asspecifiedbythemanufacturerinthisManualandbythesignsonthetractorandthe equipment.

Normaloperationincludesthepreparationandstorageof thetractor,swingingcomponentsintoworkposition andviceversa,addingorremovingballastandpickingupandsettingoffattachments.

• Normaloperationincludestheadjustmentandsettingof thetractorandequipment,forthespecificcondition ofthefieldand/orthecrop

• Routineserviceandmaintenancemeansactivitiesthatmustbedonedailybyanoperatorfamiliarwiththe tractorcharacteristicsandcomplyingwiththeinformationforroutineserviceandsafepractices,asspecified bythemanufacturerinthisManualandbysignsonthetractor,inordertomaintainitsproperfunction.Routine serviceincludesactivitiessuchasfueling,cleaning,washing,toppingupfluidlevels,greasing,replacingof consumablearticlessuchaslampbulbs

TheProductIdentificationNumberplateprovidesimportantinformationontractorandtowedequipment weightcombinations.Thisplatecanbefoundonthe right----handsideofthecabexteriortrimpanel,below therearwindow.

Thefiguresshownarethemaximumpermissiblevehicleandtowingweightsandshouldnotbeexceeded,todosomayaffectthesafeoperationofthetractor.SeeDrawbarsandTowingAttachmentsin Section7.

ECOLOGYANDTHEENVIRONMENT

Soil,airandwaterarevitalfactorsofagricultureand lifeingeneral.Wherelegislationdoesnotyetrulethe treatmentofsomeofthesubstanceswhichare requiredbyadvancedtechnology,commonsense shouldgoverntheuseanddisposalofproductsofa chemicalandpetrochemicalnature.

Thefollowingarerecommendationswhichmaybeof assistance:

Becomeacquaintedwithandensurethatyou understandtherelativelegislationapplicableto yourcountry.

• Askyoursuppliersoflubricants,oils,fuels, anti--freeze,detergents,etc.forinformationon theeffectsoftheseproductsonhumansandthe environmentandforinstructionsconcerning theiruse,storageanddisposal.Inmanycases, localagriculturalconsultantswillbeableto provideassistance.

HELPFULHINTS

1.Avoidfillingtanksusingunsuitablecontainersor inappropriatepressurisedfueldeliverysystems whichmaycauseconsiderablespillage.

2.Ingeneral,avoidskincontactwithallfuels,oils, acids,solvents,etc.Mostofthemcontain substanceswhichcanbeharmfultoyourhealth.

3.Modernoilscontainadditives.Donotburn contaminatedfuelsand/orwasteoilsinordinary heatingsystems.

4.Avoidspillagewhentransferringusedengine coolingliquids,engineandtransmission lubricants,hydraulicoils,brakefluids,etc.Never mixusedbrakeoilwithfueloil,orfueloilwith lubricants.Storesafelyuntilsuitabledisposal canbearrangedaccordingtonationallegislation orlocalregulations.

5.Modernanti----freezeliquidsandsolutions,e.g. anti--freezeandotheradditives,mustbe replacedeverytwoyears.Theymustnotbeleft tobeabsorbedintotheground,butmustbe collectedanddisposedofinasuitablemanner.

6.Donotopentheair-conditioningsystemyourself. Itcontainsgaseswhichshouldnotbereleased intotheatmosphere.Yourdealerorair conditioningspecialisthasaspecialextractorfor thispurposeandwillhavetorechargethesystem anyway.

7.Repairanyleaksordefectsintheenginecooling orhydraulicsystemimmediately.

8.Donotincreasethepressureinapressurised circuitasthismayleadtothecomponents exploding.

9.Protecthosesduringweldingaspenetrating weldsplattermayburnaholeorweakenthem, causingthelossofoils,coolant,etc.

10.Donotadjustthesettingofthefueldelivery systemasthiswillaltertheemissionofexhaust fumes.

WORKINGSAFELY

THETRACTOR

1.ReadthisManualcarefullybeforestarting,using, carryingoutmaintenance,refuellingor performinganyothertypeofoperationonthe tractor.Lackofoperatingknowledgecanleadto accidents.

2.ThetimespentreadingthisManualwillallowyou togettoknowyourtractor,therebysavingtime andeffort.Thiswillalsohelppreventaccidents fromtakingplace.

3.Onlyallowproperlytrainedandqualifiedpersons tooperatethetractor.

4.Enterandleavethetractorusingthestepsand handlesprovided.Keepthesefittingsfreeofmud anddebris.

5.Readallthesafetydecalsonthemachineand followtheinstructionsthereonbeforestarting, operating,refuellingorcarryingoutmaintenance onthemachine.Promptlyreplaceanydecals thataredamaged,lostorillegible.Cleanthe decalsiftheyarecoveredbymudordebris.

6.Rememberthatthetractorisexclusively designedforagriculturaluse.Anyotherusewill requirepriorauthorisationfromNEWHOLLAND.

7.Nevercarrypassengers,noteveninsidethecab, unlessthemachineisfittedwithanapproved extraseat.Thereisnosafeplaceforextra passengersotherwise.

8.Beforemovingthetractor,alwayscheckthatthe areaisfreeofpersonsorobstacles.

9.Keepchildrenawayfromthetractorandfarm machineryatalltimes.

10.Donotmodifyoralterorpermitanyoneelseto modifyoralterthetractororanyofits componentsoranytractorfunctionwithoutfirst consultingyourdealer.

11.Beforestartingtheengine,checkthatallcovers andguardsarecorrectlyinposition(rollbar, bonnetsidepanels,powertake----offguard,front axletransmissionshaftcover,etc.).

DRIVINGTHETRACTOR

1.Neverstartormanoeuvrethetractorunless seatedinthedrivingposition.

2.Whendrivingonpublicroads,have considerationforotherroadusers.Pullintothe sideoftheroadoccasionallytoallowany followingtraffictopass.Donotexceedthelegal speedlimitsetinyourcountryforagricultural tractors.

3.Usearotatingbeaconwhendrivingonpublic roadstoindicatethatthevehicleisslowmoving andisapossiblehazard.

4.Dipthetractorlightswhenmeetingavehicleat night.Makesurethelightsareadjustedto preventblindingthedriverofanoncoming vehicle.

5.Reducespeedbeforeturningorapplyingthe brakes.Brakebothwheelssimultaneouslywhen makinganemergencystop.Ensurethatboth brakepedalsarelockedtogetherwhentravelling atroadspeedsorwhenonpublicroadstoensure correctoperationoftrailerbrakes,balanced operationofthetractorbrakesandfourwheel braking(4WDtractorsonly).

10.Keepthetractorinthesamegearwhengoing downhillaswouldbeusedwhengoinguphill.Do notcoastorfreewheeldownhills.

11.Forsafeoperationanytowedvehiclewhosetotal weightexceedsthatofthetowingtractormustbe equippedwithabrakingsystemthatcomplies withthelegalrequirementsofthatcountry.

12.Neverapplythedifferentiallockwhenturning. Whenengaged,thedifferentiallockwillprevent thetractorfromturning.

13.Alwayscheckoverheadclearance,especially whentransportingthetractor.Watchwhereyou aregoing,especiallyatrowends,onroadsand aroundtreesandlowoverhangingobstacles.

14.Toavoidoverturns,drivethetractorwithcareand atspeedscompatiblewithsafety,especially whenoperatingoverroughground,when crossingditchesorslopesandwhenturning corners.

6.Useextremecautionandavoidhardapplication ofthetractorbrakeswhentowingheavyloadsat roadspeeds.

7.Whentowing,donotnegotiatebendswiththe differentiallockengagedasthismaypreventyou fromsteeringthetractor.

8.Alwaysusethetractorataspeedthatwill guaranteesafeoperationonthetypeofland beingworked.Whenworkingonunevenground, usemaximumcaretoensureproperstability.

9.Ifyouhavetoworkwiththetractoronagradient, forexampleonhillsides,driveatmoderatespeed especiallywhentakingcurves.

15.Useextremecautionwhenoperatingonsteep slopes.

16.Ifthetractorbecomesstuckorthetyresare frozentotheground,reversethetractoroutto preventoverturning.
