The Mayan New Year 2024

TheMayan New Year corresponds to the Electric Blue Storm that began on July 26. This day marks the beginning of the new cycle of the Mayan calendar, known as Imix, which is related to renewal and the new life that nature offers. In southeastern states of Mexico, and the countries of the great Mayan world Belize, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico and  El Salvador, Mayan priests carry out ceremonies and rituals to welcome this new cycle, seeking to connect people with their environment. and their ancestral heritage. This symbol represents the energy of the new cycle and is associated with breastfeeding, new life and the opportunity that nature provides for survival and growth. The “Blue Electric Storm” or “Cauac” in the Mayan calendar is a sign powerful that symbolizes transformation and self-generation. It is associated with the color blue and represents the energy of the Cha’ak storm that brings rapid and profound changes, as well as purification and transformation. The Blue Thunderstorm is associated with the west direction and its totem animal is the turtle.
