Selectmen Advance Traffic Camera Study By Aaron Rubin Staff Writer
The Deep River Board of Selectmen has decided to move forward with a traffic study at three locations in town to determine whether traffic cameras are warranted as a traffic-calming measure.
The installation of traffic cameras in town has the endorsement of Deep River’s current resident state trooper, according to First Selectwoman Carol Jones. She told the Valley Courier that “our current resident state trooper supports further investigation into traffic cameras. He feels that could help with speeding issues.”
The prevalence of speeding along Main Street is well known to both the Board of Selectmen and the Economic Development Commission, which “brought it back to the forefront” as an issue, Jones said.
