Killingworth Voters Approve Budget, Reject Bonding By Aaron Rubin Staff Writer
Killingworth voters approved the proposed 2026-27 fiscal year operating budget at the Annual Town Meeting on May 18, but rejected a proposed $4.6 million bonding resolution for several capital projects. First Selectman Eric Couture thanked
residents who attended the meeting and supported the approved budget. “I would like to thank the people who took time out of their lives to attend the Town Meeting on May 18th,” Couture said. “At the meeting, both the Operating Budget and a reduced Capital Budget for the 2026/2027 fiscal year were passed.” Some budget funds will go toward digitiz-
ing Town Hall operations through software upgrades. For public safety, the town had considered adding a second state trooper, which would have nearly doubled the police budget at an estimated annual cost of $150,000. Officials ultimately decided against the addition and
