RSD17 To Revise Proposed Education Budget By Aaron Rubin Staff Writer
Regional School District 17 officials will return to the drawing board after voters rejected the district’s proposed 2026-27 education budget in referendum voting earlier this month.
RSD17 Superintendent Patricia SullivanKowalski said the district “will continue to follow the established budget process” and is “currently working to schedule the District Hearing and finalize the budget and ultimately the referendum question.” “Once the dates are confirmed, the community will have another opportunity to vote
on the budget,” Sullivan-Kowalski said. “Information regarding the hearing and referendum dates will be shared with the community as soon as they are finalized.” The proposed budget called for $54,465,593 in education spending for the next academic year, representing See RSD17 page 10
