Town Split Ahead of May 6 Academy Vote By Aaron Rubin Staff Writer MADISON

The Board of Selectmen (BOS) officially set the ballot language for the proposed Academy Community Center Project at a special meeting on April 22, sending the $24 million project to referendum on Tuesday, May 6. The question on the ballot will read: “Shall

the Town of Madison increase the total appropriation to renovate the Academy School building into a community center and municipal building to $24,000,000 by authorizing a supplemental appropriation of $8,100,000 to be paid for by grants and donations?” While taxpayers originally approved $15.9 million in bonding for the project in 2022, the supplemental $8.1 million—$7.63 million of
