Branford Foundation Awards $8,250 to Local Groups By Eric O'Connell Staff Writer
The Branford Community Foundation, in conjunction with Ascend Bank, distributed money to six organizations that improve the quality of life for Branford residents as part of its annual sponsorship awards. In an Aug. 20 press release, the foundation announced that six organizations received awards in the third and final round of its
2026 sponsorship program. The release noted that the funds were available for a single event, such as a gala or road race, or for a series of events held by an organization over a period of time. In this round, a total of $8,250 was given to the following causes: BHcare Inc. for Community Day of Connection; Branford Compassion Club for the 2026 Animal Awareness Day; The Connecticut Hospice, Inc., for its
Waves of Gratitude Gala; Peace, Love, and Accessibility for Living Life Happily: Access to a Cure; Rotary Club of North Branford for the North Branford Rotary Fall Fling; and Shoreline Eldercare Alliance for a Celebration of Healthy Aging.
