Branford High School Graduates Class of 2026 Staff Report
For the second consecutive year, Branford High School seniors crossed the graduation stage on their home turf rather than the Branford Green as the Class of 2026 celebrated commencement June 10. A total of 182 graduates received diplomas during a ceremony held on the high school’s
turf field. Family members, friends, faculty, and school officials gathered to mark the milestone and celebrate the accomplishments of the graduating class. Graduation traditionally takes place on the Branford Green, but the ceremony was moved to the high school in 2025 because of the town’s downtown reconstruction project. Construction delays kept the ceremony on
campus again this year, with graduation expected to return to the Green in 2027 following completion of the project. Valedictorian Tate Jones, Salutatorian Emilia Jeffery, and Class President Nate Durante delivered remarks during the ceremony. Branford High School graduates celebrate the conclusion of commencement by tossing their caps into the air June 10 at the high school. The ceremony featured remarks from student speakers Sofia Bobko, Abigail Smith, Megan Paul, Shannon Carey, Nate Durante, Bidhee Thapa, Aziley Crespo and Dylan Hall, as well as salutatorian Emilia Jeffery and valedictorian Tate Jones.
