BLT Marks 20 Years of Fish Ladder Staff Report

The Branford Land Trust will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Supply Pond Fish Ladder with a family-friendly community event on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to noon. The free event will take place at the fish

ladder near Supply Pond and will feature children’s activities, educational presentations, live music, and a one-mile parade around the pond. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, April 26. The fish ladder, completed in 2006, allows migrating river herring—alewives and blueback herring—to travel from Long Island
