Substitute Arrested in School Incident By Laura Robida Managing Editor
A substitute teacher who worked one day in Branford Public Schools has been arrested in connection with an alleged incident involving a student at Mary T. Murphy Elementary School, according to police and school officials.
The individual, identified by police as Jack N. Gill, 24, was taken into custody April 2 on a Branford arrest warrant following a months-long investigation into an incident reported Jan. 20 at the school. Gill was charged with risk of injury to a minor and fourth-degree sexual assault, police said. He was released after posting a $75,000 court-set bond and is scheduled to
appear April 14 in New Haven Superior Court. The warrant alleges that Gill “was also accused of touching a 6-year-old at Mary T. Murphy Elementary School in Branford while he was the substitute library teacher,” an incident police say occurred in January on See Substitute Arrested page 4
