Clinton Landfill Application Continued to September By Eric O'Connell Staff Writer
A public hearing concerning a proposal to cap a landfill on Old Nod Road has been continued for a second time by the Planning and Zoning Commission so members can get answers to questions surrounding the project. The commission is scheduled to meet again Monday, Sept. 14. The commission briefly addressed the
application at a special meeting on Aug. 17. No members of the public spoke during the hearing, and commission members agreed to continue the hearing to give the Town Council and town attorney more time to provide answers to questions on which the commission had previously sought clarification. At the next public hearing, residents may speak in favor of, in opposition to, or neutrally on the application, as well as ask questions.
The Application Capping the landfill has been a longstanding and ongoing issue in Clinton. Earlier this summer, Loureiro Engineering Associates Inc. filed an application with the zoning commission to cap an old landfill located at 0 Old Nod Road, which would help satisfy a consent order from the Connecticut Department See Clinton Landfill Application page 10
