PZC Delays Landfill Capping Decision By Eric O'Connell Staff Writer CLINTON
The Planning and Zoning Commission has continued a public hearing on a proposal to cap and close an old landfill on Old Nod Road. The commission has asked for further clarification on oversight issues. The next hearing will be held Monday, Aug. 10.
A public hearing on the application opened July 13, when the commission unanimously voted to continue the hearing and seek clarification from the Clinton Town Council on several questions related to ongoing site maintenance. At a Town Council meeting on July 15, Town Planner Abby Piersall told the council she would research answers to the questions
before the council’s next meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 5. At the next public hearing, residents may speak in favor of, in opposition to, or neutrally on the application, as well as ask questions. The public hearing will be the latest step See PZC Delays page 13
