Referendum Eyed for Kate, DPW Projects By Eric O'Connell Staff Writer
Old Saybrook’s Board of Selectmen and Board of Finance are expected to hear presentations in July on funding requests for potential upgrades to the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center and the town’s
Department of Public Works garage. Voters will be asked to approve the funding at a referendum this fall. First Selectman Carl Fortuna announced at a meeting in late June that the Board of Selectmen will receive presentations on the funding requests at its July 14 meeting. At press time, Fortuna said final cost esti-
mates for both projects were still being determined but would be presented to the board in time for the July 14 meeting. Following the presentation, Fortuna said the selectmen are expected to forward the proposals to the Board of Finance for review. See Referendum page 9
